I've used MovingHelp for 2 years and it's been great. It works like Priceline or Amazon and it connects me with the best and cheapest movers available. I personally recommend to filter the cheapest movers first and then find the company with a five star rating from more than 100 customers. I have never been disappointed.
U-Haul Moving Help Experience Feedback I had a negative experience with U-Haul Moving Help. I hired a moving company named RA Transport, owned by an individual named Ryan, through U-Haul's moving help service. We scheduled their services 17 days in advance, and they confirmed they would be there. We agreed on the job's timing, but communication issues arose as the moving day approached. The day before the scheduled move, we tried contacting them via text with no response. After calling them, we managed to confirm the move for the next day. However, on the day of the move, they failed to show up. Despite our attempts to reach them, our calls went unanswered and went straight to voicemail. Even after trying from another phone, we were unable to get through to them. It seemed like they had blocked us deliberately and did not respond to our text messages. I believe U-Haul should establish clear standards for service providers to prevent such disappointing experiences.
If you have any questions, you'll always get the same answer: you'll have to discuss that with your service provider. But there's no company name given for the service provider, only the contact for the actual movers. So when our movers arrived 30 mins late, they stayed an extra 30 mins over the two hour period we paid for, they claimed we had to pay in cash for travel and an extra HOUR. They claimed it was $195 per person (with two movers) and literally followed me to the ATM to get the money out before they would leave. I contacted movinghelp.com via chat and was basically told it was between me and the movers who clearly ripped me off and I had no choice but to pay them because they wouldn't leave. Go with anyone other than movinghelp. They're absolutely worthless.
This process does not allow for refunding unused hours! So, underestimate the hours you need! Very crappy to do business, not the local movers fault, just crappy site. U haul should not do business this way! I recommend you find the movers through Moving Help, then contract with them outside the crappy service site.
I hired CentrexMoving to help unload my things. They damaged a lot of different things. While CentrexMoving admitted fault, they did not do anything about it. I contacted MovingHelp and they said it was up to the discretion of CentrexMoving and that nothing else could be done. MovingHelp will provide no support. Just keep that in mind.
I moved to Syracuse NY and scheduled for two movers to help with unloading a UPACK relocube (smaller than UHaul 10' truck). They called in the morning of the move and confirmed everything. But, later they did not show up. They even did not return any of my several calls.
What was my option? To cancel with them and get another helper. But prices had tripled. So, here is my guess. They first offer the lowest price as a bait. Then, in the last moment they don't show up. Then, they offer very high price for same day service and have no option but to buy their expensive price.
Do not bother with this company. They don't vet any of their movers and they are impossible to get ahold of. 2/3 movers I scheduled were no contact/noshow. The one mover that did finally show up was late, sent too few people to do the job, and were barely able finish. I had to actually help them move a piano.
Uhaul makes you book 2 hours and when the move only took 1 hour, they refused to give me my money back. Charged me 130$ for 1 hour of moving. The gentlemen were nice but the shoved my dishes sideways and unside down in the uhaul, smashed my boxes listed as fragile. Now i know why they went so fast, they were robbing me blind. Never use this service ever!
How this company is still able to be in business is beyond me. Dont try to contact their online help text, or through phone as they dont like to accept responsibility for their actions, even after explaining that youre not afraid to bring council into a dispute. Please I beg you dont go through the hassle that I have. While the individual movers themselves were nice and courteous, the corporation is a total scam and takes 15% of every dollar their labors earn. Again if you try to contact them you will be sent into a total loop as they frustrate you to hanging up and not actually having any of your issues resolved. I will be contacting every local U-Haul, moving company in my area that uses them to advice them what has happened and that they should advise their patrons not to use them.
Don't hire Certified Movers. I called them twice. They never showed. When I called them after waiting for them for an hour they told me to be patient they were on another job. I had already got the. O ING truck so I ended up having to pay for uhaul moving truck k but no mo e because of irresponsible movers. DON'T HIRE!
Tip for consumers:
Beware of CERTIFIED MOVERS
No-show alert! We scheduled 2 movers but they NEVER SHOWED UP! Phone was off and didn't respond to our texts! Called the company's phone number *******550 from MovingHelp account for help. The guy who answered the phone said that he will get it back to us, but he NEVER DID. Called in, left voice message... and... nothing. Talked to Uhaul, who brushed off all the responsibility. We had been left with bunch of packed boxed and furniture, but no help. We are filing complaints with FMCSA. Do Not use their service. It was a horrifying and extremes frustrated experiences.

MovingHelp.com only puts you in touch with movers, but they will not stand with you in the event of an issue. You are forced to work it out directly with the mover, which basically means you are HOSED. I even had a mover (EZMove in Tampa) not show up for a move, and after contacting MovingHelp.com for help, I was told to work it out directly with the mover (who would not even answer my calls after they no-showed), but then the customer service representative that I was chatting with ended the chat (yeah, even worse you can't even speak to a real person). In summary, MovingHelp.com and EZMove in Tampa are definitely not worth the risk. Work with a reputable company if you want peace of mind that you'll have a smooth move.
I scheduled my moving two and a half weeks in advance, confirmed and double checked the availability by phone and email, called the guy the day before to make sure everything was going ok. Dash answered the phone and said I was all set and then, at 10 am the next day when I was signing the papers for a truck rental that idiot called me saying that he didn't remember about another scheduled job for the same day and the same time. I was in panic! How can these people be so irresponsible? They charged my account on the same day I booked the moving and then this happened. Mother&^%$! Fortunately., I found these guys from movingdmv.com who did a magnificent job for a very reasonable price. Otherwise, It would have cost me hundreds more. Thanks, MovingDVM.com and F&%$ MovingHelp.com
Oh and if somebody thinks this is a fake review can contact me I will expand the whole story.
The movers did not show up for the job and we waited for one hour at the site. We had rented and driven a truck for two hours only for the movers to not show up. In the end we paid for the truck and were not able to load some of the things we planed to. This is very disappointing and unprofessional. We could have been warned at least a day in advance if no helpers were available. "Safe Convenient Reliable"? Definitely not! Total SCAM!
U haul is partners with Moving help and when uhaul truck is rented there is a page with moving help for movers. Moving help hires people who are not bonded or insured so when my furniture was severely damaged by their lack of care there is zero recourse. I contacted moving help and there is no way to get help, they ask you to tell the movers the issue and moving help sends message and the movers can resolve or ignore, no help they shrug and move on. I will definitely spread the word! Uhaul states moving help isn't affiliated with moving help and moving help states they are just a market place and don't recommend any of the companies they have on page. I trusted moving help because it was on Uhaul page. I would have hired professional help and will do so in future.
This was my first big move and I made sure to book help weeks in advance. I used Make it Happen Movers, and boy did they not make it happen. I spoke to Josh who was very nice over the phone, and they said they would arrive between 8 and 9. At 9am the day of, I called and left a voicemail. Nothing. At 9:30 I called again, the same number, to discover that Josh's voicemail was gone, and the automated voicemail read me a different number. I, a small woman, moved my entire apartment on the 3rd floor completely alone. It took me over 2 days, and absolutely nothing from Josh, who apparently uses a google voice number or something so he can ditch customers if he feels like it. The absolute worst. I will never use moving help again. And Josh, if you're reading this, I hope you enjoyed your Saturday morning because I certainly DIDN'T.
This was a nightmare and movinghelp is totally useless, how they are still in business is mindboggling. No contact phone number, all the movers are "contractors" moving help assumes no responsibility for anything. The contractors are not vetted, certified, insured nor bonded, and uhaul, what a joke they want your money, they could care less about you nor your move and though this company is part of uhaul, uhaul does nothing if they screw up.
Peter called to set this move up after I booked through U-Haul. He seemed pleasant enough. Wow. Total wolf in sheep's clothing. From that moment on, he became a complete unresponsive a-hole over the phone/text. Movers never showed up despite 11 phone calls from me to Peter and multiple texts. AND, when I asked for a refund, he told me how to get one on the website, but NEVER even apologized for messing up the whole day. Wound up hiring last-minute movers and 10x the cost! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!
Absolutely horrible - horrible packing - damage to furniture and property - they didn't take care of my property. The damaged the front door when they removed it. Property stolen and damaged. They came unprepared for the job without boxes and needed to use my boxes without any credits. Moving Help is nothing more than a stunt by UHaul to keep business away from competitors. These movers use UHaul and one hand washes the other.
If you live in Canada and moving within Canada, do not select MovingHelp.com from the uHaul website. MovingHelp.com will charge you fully in American dollars - for Canadian helpers within Canadian cities. There is no customer contact number, only LiveChat - which they will disconnect the conversation with you should you challenge them. Exceptionally poor customer service. The word 'gangsters' immediately comes to mind.
I had planned, called the movers to confirm the day and time but the movers never showed up. I had only receive information at mid-day during the move, hours later that the movers were not willing to work and they wanted to re-schedule the move.
I had a rental truck from U-haul, everything packed up and I was at the end of the lease for my apartment. No alternative. And at the end nobody is responsible.
This company is not reliable.
Not only did no movers show up to my confirmed moving date but I was charged over $400.00. I was unable to get in touch with anyone to get movers, get a refund, or even let anyone know what had happened. At this time, I am still unable to get in touch with anyone from Moving Help or receive a refund. I would never ever recommend anyone using Moving Help.
I scheduled movers a month and a half in advance to move our son off base. They called and confirmed they would be at the residence at 8 am, this morning. No one ever showed up or even called. They wouldn't answer their phone or email. I guess they decided, the heck with her, I'm goin' fishin'. Fine way to treat our military. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!
I made a reservation, paid the fee on March 20 early morning. Reservation for help was supposed to be the next day on the 21st. I get contacted the afternoon of the 20th that they can not provide the help and want me to move my reservations for truck and family help. Left me high and dry. Very disappointed. I can only rate the service as nonexistent.
On July 30,2 men from a company I hired through moving help "loaded" my U-Haul truck.
They did use furniture pads on everything they should have and I now have damaged furniture.
They loaded large, heavy items on top of smaller, light weight items. As a result, there was an avalanche when the truck was unloaded and several items were broken and/or damaged.
When I called Moving Help, they told me I needed to talk to the company that did the work. After the owner of that company wouldn't take responsibility for what his guys did and told me they weren't insured, I called Moving Help back. They told me that they don't have any control over what their contractors do and that they don't require them to carry insurance.
In other words, they don't care.
2nd time I've been stood up by moving help workers. U haul charges your card as soon as you set an appointment. When the movers never show up your $#*! is out because you have to find other help at the last minute. U haul takes 2 weeks to refund your money. I will never use uhaul again.
