It is worth paying a $5.00 monthly fee to NetSpend because I get unlimited transactions and I get paid direct deposit money sooner than anyone I work with. NetSpend also gives me free text alerts describing each transaction made so I never have to wonder what my balance is. NetSpend is a trustworthy prepaid card. They will even cover me if I overdraw up to 10 bucks since I have direct deposit. Just read their policies; very simple to understand, choose your plan and you won't be disappointed.

NetSpend is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Their customer service reps are a complete joke. DO NOT USE NETSPEND. If anyone has any negative social media links, please share with me so I can spread the word.

I went to Walmart and bought one of these cards. I go online, make an account, and they refuse to let me in. This is ridiculous, if I put the money on the card I should be able to use the money! Customer support was just as unhelpful. Called Walmart to get a refund and they said it wasn't their problem. Avoid this company at all costs.

2 weeks ago i had 2500 storm from my account. I have used netspend for years. I filed a dispute and was told they didn't find any fraudulent activity. Bull$#*!! Then today i go to use my card and its not working. I call to find out why and i was told I AM NO LONGER ELIGIBLE TO BE A CARD HOLDER. I asked my and they said because to much fraudulent Activity. I flipped out. You can't give me back what was stolen and said you didn't find any issues. But then you did find fraudulent activity And shut me down completely! I still have 6,000 in my account and im a mom of six. On so scared i wont get my money back. Im so sick to my stomach about all this.

I have the Washington Mutual/netspend Account. If you have a dispute and you want to talk with customer service about it forget it. I don't care how much you lost I don't care if they even did it it's illegal scam you've lost your money it's gone and no one will help you. There's nothing you can do it's illegal scam I should start a couple like this I'll make money hand over fist and there's nothing anybody could $#*!ing do about it.

Yeah I'll add something someone needs to crack down and find a way to flush the Internet out of all the trash that's turning it into a $#*!ing toilet

I have been with netspend for 10 years and never had an issue, all of sudden, I am 2$ over and thats fine, but I have received an email in my mailbox saying that they have new fees. So in retrospect, I spent 2$ extra and had to pay 50 plus dollars just to use my account again. Horrible people. Will be switching banks. NEVER AGAIN..

I bought a Netspend card on 01/07/23 and was not able to use the card after activating it. They blocked my card and I could not make any transactions or withdraw money from an ATM. I spoke to 6 different customer service reps from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (unacceptable) and was placed on hold and sent to recordings numerous times over and over even after requesting to speak to a supervisor. THIS CARD IS A RIPOFF as I still have not used my card or gotten my money back. I closed the account and hopefully they send my hard earned money back that I had originally loaded on at a FRY's grocery store.

Netspend Visa cards seem like a scam. I could not activate my card using the automated system. The customer rep. That I finally was able to reach by dialing "0" several times on the menu pretended to take my info. Then booted me back to the automated menu. And Speedway will not refund your money, which is where the card was purchased. $100 down the toilet.

Integrity is not the strong suit of this company. They don't really know how to help their customers and they don't care. And if you're stupid enough to get an account with them or start an account with them, be aware that they will never ever have a solution that is going to be satisfactory. You're better off getting an account with a company that doesn't give a $#*! about you and will close your account if you get hacked I'm calling out Bank of America capital one and Chase Bank. Even though I'm calling them out those are much better than NetSpend.

Customer service bad, holding people money not releasing it to the card. Then you call and update your information and when you call back they still have the old information. And it's always we got a new system!

Don't trust them don't even try to get a net spend card because they will scam you and they will not give you a refund they just played game with you they are a fraud for stealing for me, and not giving me a refund on my money back I have all the proof off it in is really one months pass without my refund so please be careful with netspend

They received a "suspicious"phone call on a Thursday. I was not notified at all. That following Friday my account was hacked and almost 400 dollars was stolen from me two days before Christmas. After money was transferred they then put a hold on my account, they refused to give me any information and I had to call several times to even speak with someone. They also refused to investigate or refund my money. Do not bank with them! They don't even deserve one star but I don't have a choice.

My son received a Netspend prepaid card as a gift. We had an issue activating it so I called customer support. They said their was an issue verifying my identity. After going around in circles for too long trying to verify who I was they finally offered to send a check for the amount of the card. Well, I received the check but it's $5.95 short of the amount. Apparently they charged me a fee for their problem.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use this card. Customer service is hard to understand.

I informed Netspend that my account had been compromised. They canceled my debit card but didn't restrict my online account so someone was able to use my account and steal 2400. 00 out of my account after I informed them my account was compromised. They decided to close my account. I'm having a hard time getting the remainder of my money that was in my account. The customer operators are being really nasty. They won't give me any useful advise about whats going on with my account. I've been with them for at least 10 years. Never again they let me down. They get a -1 star.

I have had the worse experience with these people I have literally been on hold for over an hour has asked to speak to a supervisor twice and still on hold do not do business with this bull $#*! $#*! company

So this is my 3rd day on the phone with them. First car was very rude. Sent them documentation for last year to verify who I was still won't reactivate my account. I may lose my job because I can't get to work. Information sent license, tax information, paystub and others. I'm tired of jumping through hoops work theses people. DON'T ACTIVATE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. Save yourself the trouble. They are not willing to work with you at all.

Charged a 1.00 for receiving a direct deposit from my job. Also was charged $200 in fee's alone FOR using my own money. They just make money from fees and this is definitely a bad way to keep your money safe. Just keep it at home or pay the bank and keep your money safe. I would suggest not ever using a prepaid card. They are working night and day to stay your hard earned dough. NetSpend should be NEGspend because you'll soon be in the negative.

Do not use this company they not only will charge you ridiculous fees to do any type of transactions they also take money for non transactions even though you have me transactions and they're saying your card has been locked no one wanted to help you but they take the last little bit of money you have on your card and $#*! you over

Had daughter pick me up a net spend card to make a online payment so I didnt have to drive 32 miles to make a bike payment do not use this company if you want to see your money again just go hand it to some random person

This company is fraud! I received a gift card and used $10 on it, tried to use another c $15 and it was declining, I found that odd as I had just checked the balance. I checked my account later that day and saw my balance was $0.00 and I had a pending transaction for the remaining balance at the location my card was declined at. After calling and speaking with them I was told that they saw a partial balance was used which didn't make sense because the total of the charge was less than the balance in the card. They are not doing anything to get my funds back and I believe it's because they did something shady to take the funds in the first place. Ridiculous that they want people to link their direct deposit to them when they steal money

After 3 to 4 years of having my card. When I called I never understood the people that answered the phone and most of them didn't know what they was doing... I cancelled all my cards and will Never used this card again... Be careful with them because they CROOKS

I been with netspend for 5 years and my account was hacked. Scammer took almost $400 and netdpend decided that it wasn't no error found, no provisional credit and case closed within 10 days. If your money is compromised please don't waste time contacting them. Just don't deposit any more money into the account bc they are full of BS

Hi, I am having major difficulties with NETSPEND as a thief got into my account on the 19th of February and waited for me to get paid again, then locked me out of my own account and changed the info to theirs. NetSpend would cancel cards as they came in but would not freeze the account for suspicious activity. They let my account drain to about $150 and now I have about $1500 gone because this fool made a virtual card in my name so they could keep transferring my money undetected. They went on numerous Lyft rides, bought Panda Express, tried to buy LEGOS, and who knows what else. PLEASE look into this as I cannot pay bills nor buy food to feed my family! I have kids on the spectrum and one cannot get much-needed therapy because I don't have access to my account. This is a nightmare! These pictures I uploaded are just some of the funds stolen. I AM LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT, the hacker is using his info as mine. Thank you

**UPDATE** I thought that Netspend had closed my account because this hacker is connected to this and was waiting for more funds to be added, and cleared by the bank to be returned to me. As soon as $900 something was redeposited by Netspend, I got a text, and within minutes, I was down to $6.98. I now have to wait until all pending unauthorized transactions are cleared which is going to take time. I still do not have money, so can't buy food or pay bills. THANKS! Is this an inside job because it's pretty sophisticated!

Tip for consumers:
I have been with Netspend for several years; once in awhile there would be unauthorized purchases and they usually helped me right away. They did block physical cards but allowed this person to continue to drain my account by the use of a virtual card in my name to put my hard-earned money into their own private account. I have lost count on how many people I have talked to, how many documents sent in and rejected, and been given a complete run around. This has been going on since Febuary 19th.

Ive had money taken off my card unauthorized! I filed a dispute and now its been months. They say there still investiagting. They keep blowing me off every other agent gives a further and further date for the next update. They just keep your money and play games. I highly recommend to stay far far away from this scammers at netspend. I dont see how they can legally operate with being blatant scammers. If i could get neg stars i would

I changed my mind about getting their card. I repeatedly tried to call them to cancel the card, but it is impossible to get through ro a person. I will just shred the thing if send it to me. I will never use this card with shoddy customer service like this.

Bought a PayPal prepaid card put $120 on it when I went to activate it I was told by netspend that I can't have a netspend account. Mind you I have a small business account with them so I asked about that and was told it was closed but I never received the money from that account. The lady then tells me that they will send me a check for the $120 and review my small business account to see why I have not got the money from that account. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

This is the worst card ever. I am current in the process of filing a lawsuit contacting and filing complaints with FTC and BBB, consumer division, and Michigan attorney general. I just purchase the card loading money on there and they locked my money over false fraud protection. Cause me to be put out of my hotel room cause the card was locked. I sat in the hotel lobby for hours on the phone trying to get the problem straightened out. I had no money for food and had to wonder around for hours trying to find somewhere to go with luggage. They don't care about they customers once they get your money. I advise no one to used this card.

I purchased card in Nashville to, put money it to book a flight to Detroit. My first night at the room was already paid for. I got early I put $250 on the card went back out another $50 dollars on the card making the balance around $300 dollars. Netspend, then put a false fraud alert on the card therefore I couldn’t pay for my room and had to get out the room. I had put all my money on the card so I couldn’t even get food. Customer did not understand my situation and would not help me. All they said was send my Idea, ssn, and something with my address on it. Then it would take about a day to activate my card again. In the meantime I just have to suffer and they have my money!
