The property owners poa,hoa have leads that operate behind the scenes to block, silence and harass anyone who questions the water department, the property managers or just for communicating with other neighbors any concerns they have. The effort being put forth to control information is clearly a direct violation of Nextdoor guidelines. Someone needs to cycle out these bias leads as they misuse N.D. To get elected to the board and sway public opinion with private messaging other residents and slandering anyone who wants to improve our neighborhood.
Worst social media platform ever. They use it for shaming bullying and bashing neighbors. Even the leads don't follow the guidelines set. They ban accounts based off a pissed off lead reporting you non stop. We are filing suit against them for posting pics of a relative and attacking her character and slandering her name.
Chris did a tub to shower conversion in our bathroom; he did an outstanding job. Wow what a difference. Replaced a chipped tub and ceramic tiles, several with cracks, with a ceramic shower stall. The job was done in a professional, quality manor, no short cuts, using the best building practices. Chris kept us up to date throughout the project. The results where better than we anticipated. Here's a picture with the final results.
I have reported someone who continually harassed me (that I didn't know) multiple times, while what he actually said on a thread (something about killing someone?!) was deleted and dismissed. Nothing has been done about this guy and I've reported him FOUR TIMES now. I can't block him. I've told him to stop messaging me. I've told ND that they are lax in letting people like this be on their platform. The leads are just "volunteers" who are biased with their neighborhood postings. Most biased website I have been on and am now leaving due to the unsafe and unfair feeling this entire platform can give.
Nextdoor is a great idea and it is currently my favorite social media. The leads, however have turned off some participants to where they delete nextdoor. We have had unfair deletions and one lead who harassed me in PMs, I complained to corporate and that lead is still not tolerant of dissenting opinion and dissuades neighbors from using sponsored services, which I find ungrateful. But the problems with management has not stopped me and I remain a loyal nextdoor participant.
Nextdoor actively censors conservative speech. Nextdoor censors conservatives by claiming that it falls under "misinformation." I was suspended when I quoted Pres. Ronald Reagan and the Congressional Record! The posts by leftists, no matter how crude or rude, are not censored unless Nextdoor receives multiple complaints about the content. Nextdoor practices censorship at its worst.
Funny to see here, people that have been suspended or kick out of our ND page.
Some people are wrongly under the impression that ND is a place to discuss radical political views, bashing others with different beliefs, profiling of the neighbors or to discriminate ethnicities. ND is a private site, if you won't follow the rules you accepted when signing up, don't try to forcibly change them, move on and open your own site.
NOT SAFE! I was skeptical at first to use this as a close neighborhood communication page for lost pets and such but learned that you cant keep your privacy on this site from anybody. This diffidently puts people at risk of bringing problems to your front door of your family home. Your information is then on the www for anyone anywhere to gather way to much info about you and use it however they want.
At first it was interesting to read about local wildlife sightings and events, but in general it is people selling their old crap or they've lost or found a dog. When a non-neighbor started attacking a local business, I tried to defend them but immediately got a bunch of emails from trolls. So to avoid getting that sort of spam, I opted out of the whole thing.
I wrote a rather lengthy response to these two baiters I call them, who do nothing but incite people and it's okay for these people to cuss and swear while it's okay for others to consistently post their own little business they're starting up without no recourse even though none of this is approved by nextdoor.com. What a joke this place is. They actually cut me off for 72 hours because I responded to these two $#*!s on here. The leads do nothing to do their job by policing and removing the ads of people who consistently promote their own business while the rest of us are not allowed to.
I hate this site people that run this site they suck. Now it's all commercial ads I hope This app sinks.
UPDATE: As I went around the web looking at other sites, it appears that what I am saying appears to be a repeated complaint. Speak up & you will be shipped out... I wont ever be back.
I've been a member of Nextdoor for several years. It's a great way to stay connected to your neighbors and know what's going on. A lot of pup families have been reunited through posts on Nextdoor after their pup gets lost. Announcements about events happening in the neighborhood and sales or giveaways of no longer needed items are also very helpful.
This app reminds me of the old neighborhood bulletin board. It has things for sale, rent, lost, found, recommendations, alerts and info about neighbors.
I've met neighbors and become friends.
It's too bad some people are using the for sale section for commercial purposes. You can tell these people because they're selling a lot of new things, usually for more than you can get on line. I don't mind commercial enterprises on the site as long as they are identified as such.
If you use any terms the left does not like, Nextdoor.com will delete your comment or post. They are based in California and strictly follow the guidelines of the left.
It started as a good idea but the operators of the website had to inject politics so they can control the conversation to fit within their political beliefs.
This site has some great uses for crime alerts and mundane requests for a dermatologist, babysitter or advertising your old tv for sale.
If you vary past that and get into some thoughtful and or heated discussions on ie cats killing birds, you may run into some censoring entitled neighbors who are designated leads by next door. Now we are into the area of dictatorship. Whoever starting the neighborhood gets to be a lead and name their cronies as other leads and it is their way or the highway. I recently filed a grievance with Nextdoor over the improper removal by a lead of a very popular cross neighborhood post, which they had removed from our neighborhood due to alleged complaints. Nextdoor said they were wrong, which was great, and would educate the leads on proper ways to manage but one of the leads messages me that she didn't care what Nextdoor said and that she had the power to MUTE me. So much for the First Amendment.
First it hacked my email and could have stole all my contacts Facebook messages and God knows what else. Also if your not invited your not invited. If people really wanted to interact on a personal basis they would smile wave say hi. Things that normal humans do. Also makes community take a militant approach towards neighbors they have suspicions about. Acting more like the police department than normal people. Don't use it! They'll bypass permissions on your phone and hack your email if nothing else
I like this site to keep up on events and safety issues. It's nice to be able to interact with locals for many reasons. Some do abuse it with false or misleading information, But as a whole I find it valuable. Thank you.
I find most posts I read and/or contribute to informative and interesting and quickly leave those that have picked up people who clearly just want to argue with someone. I love being able to share plants with my neighbors when I thin my garden; sell things in good condition that we longer use and give away other things. I've actually made friends through Nextdoor and would miss it if it went away!
Joined Nextdoor at a different neighborhood. It was interesting to say the least. There were so many activities mentioned about what went on in the neighborhood. Lots of dog snatchers. While it's good to know where your pets are, many were great full.
I find the Nextdoor. Com site helpful and informative more times than not. Most users provide and express concerns regarding events and situations that sometimes raise your interest and put you on alert which keep you aware in and around our neighboring communities.
Next door must be ran by a bunch of rednecks because white people talk $#*! all day long about blacks but when blacks commit on their post the pigs suspend black people account. I don't give a $#*! if they suspend me permanently.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
