Northbound Gear

I ordered a pair of pants on January 30th... it is now March 3rd and I still haven't received them. They were sent on a slow boat from China... literally. I think if you sell higher end items, then maybe you should keep a few in stock State-Side, otherwise it is saving money at consumer's expense. Also, their website talks about supporting Indian farmers and contributing to that worthy cause, but their products are shipped from China (not India); which means they are also manufactured in China... That seems misleading at best... So far I haven't been impressed with any actual performance since I still haven't received what I ordered and therefore can't even speak to the quality or lack there of, of their products. Only that their order performance gets an "F"

I just received my new Weatherproof Tactical Jacket. The hood is too small but I knew that from other reviews that I had read. The main issue is the very poor quality of the stitching inside the jacket. The outside of the jacket looks great but on the inside the stitching is already coming out everywhere. The worst part is that I put a negative review on their website 6 days ago and it disappeared. I also received an email 6 days ago that someone from the company would contact me to address my problem. I'm still waiting.

Was my first order. Info said order was ready, but took weeks to get tracking info. Tracking did not show any movement. I received a new tracking number. Later, I also received a "custom cleared" message although package was shipped from BC and I'm in QC. Items finally got delivered, but I'm not sure I would order again with all such mixed messages.

I received my package it was too small. I sent an email. Was asked to send it back and pay for shipping. Then I realized I was to explain in my return whether so wanted a refund or exchange. Why I wondered when I had to explain all this in my return request. You do have computers don't you. The multiple emails I received approving my the return of purchase as info throughout. No simple here is you shipping and order info. Having it all on one page that say please print and attach and insert into package. That would be too simple after drying down town and pay 20 plus dollar and tracking to it arrival. I receive another email asking if I have receive my package. Is this my original package or my replacement package. Not sure which sums up Northbound gear.

While your online shopping app is easy to use coupled with the online chat assistance, the shipping/tracking aspects falls short. There was a 26 day wait on my package with no updates on my tracking number link. The fact that shipping takes nearly a month deters me from re-ordering. And, during that month-long wait you inundated me with emails to buy more products when, frankly, I hadn't even seen the actual product I ordered. Lots of room for improvement.

Saw all the ads and researched comments etc. sceptical at first and after procrastinating for a couple of months decided to try. GLAD I DID. Comfortable, water resistant, breathable. Not too hot or too cold, wore for a 1 week excursion bushwhacking and they performed excellent. Stood up to everything, stretch fabric moved well with my body, stood up to thick brush and prickly bushes. So far love them. Hoping they will stand the test of time and last. We'll see … if they do it'll be the icing on the cake. If your on the fence like I was. Just try them!

I ordered and received another 2 pairs of adventure pants. These are my 3rd and 4th pair to be added into my rotation. I just spent the last week on Georgian Bay fishing with these pants. It was windy, cold, raining and very warm at times. These pants performed flawlessly. Sitting on a wet boat sit, kneeling on the wet dock tying up my boat, splashed with wake and spray and my legs stayed dry. My go-to for hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, fat biking or just being warm doing yard work. Shipping time has really improved as well.

I've bought items from Northgear about 3-4 times now, and each time it's been a smooth, well communicated transaction, keeping posted on the status. It's always top quality clothing as well, so I'm always very satisfied.

Received pants after 2weeks in transit from Northbound. Found them to be a bit "wispy" in construction but am sure I will find appropriate situations for their use. Fit is great! Will see how they hold up to a variety of conditions.

Its great to be able to select waist and leg sizes independently. The order, while dispatch, was delayed on one item, the communication was immediate and ongoing until dispatch. Tracking was accurate, and delivered on time. The "Adventure water resistant pants" look, feel and fit great. While its not cold enough here yet, as I write from my cabin aboard MV Breaksea Girl in Dusky Sound, an autumn blast from the southern ocean, is due. So i can see me swapping my summer shorts for my new Adventure pants.

Some of the explanatory emails were a little ambiguous, e.g. shipping times, but hopefully overall, communications were good.
Pros.
Very fast shipping considering the source factory is in Asia. Well within the promised timeframe.
Perfect, true to size fit. 36x32"
Worn several times in less than perfect conditions but very warm and comfortable in less than perfect conditions.
Waterproof, but not sweaty.
Cons.
In my size (36 waist, 32 leg) the fly zip should be about 1" longer.
Top, rivet style button is loosely applied and may not last too long.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my Adventure Pants. Thank you.

I received my order promptly and there were confirmation emails updating about the order status which was great. I also appreciate the eco responsible packaging. The product looked exactly as ordered and I'm very pleased with the overall quality and performance. I've used my UV blocking shirt for fishing, boating and hunting. It's held up well in the wash so far and doesn't hold on to body odor.

I really want to order more clothing for me and my family but the delivery status leaves a lot to be desired as cannot plan ahead for outings and activities.
Tracking works so well now with all retail so if you can fix this part then happy customers all round, I waited just over 5e weeks for clothing.

I bought the fleece line pants for my cold weather hiking adventures. First day out hike up a mountain side to get up on a ridge was a good steep climb. -10c that morning with light snow pants worked great Not to hot while climbing steady. Very comfortable and flexible while climbing over fallen timber. The only thing I would want them to add would be a reinforced crouch and the but area to. Just to help the life of the pants when dragging over windfall trees or sliding down slopes and even just sitting on hard scratchy jagged surfaces. I oder my pants the same size as I would my jeans and they fit great. All I'm I would definitely buy more and have been telling friends about them great pants for the out doors..

First order, the process was very easy. However, do to unknown reasons it was almost 4 weeks for my order to be delivered.
Now that I have rent order the pants preformed as stated. Spent the day working in 45 degree weather and my legs stayed warm. Very comfortable for all day wear.

I have purchased 2 pairs of pants and I am impressed at the quality.
Two people I know have ordered some now since my experience has been great. I am not an online shopper (and neither are my two pals) because you never really know what you are getting.

I work in a mountain environment and these are the most functional working outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.

I have worn my Northbound Gear pants in many testing conditions this year. From wild camping in Scotland to all-weather hikes in Norway, Iceland and Nepal (I completed the Three Passes trek in the Himalayas, near Everest!), these pants have been a lifesaver. Warm, comfortable and stylish, I ordered another pair they were so good. The only negative is that their water resistance reduced significantly over time with washes in the washing machine. I was able to spray them with a soft shell waterproofer that returned some of the water resistance.

Terrible terrible terrible. Absolute terrible and poor condescending customer service. I will never recommend or buy from this company ever again, nor ever recommend it to anyone. Your better off buying local because their products are made in China, and it's poor China quality which speaks to many cheep items from China. Don't waste your money. You'll find better at Walmart or Fred Meyer!

Your pants are so good I ordered a second pair. The are the best cool/cold weather adventure/hunting pants I have ever owned. My only negative was shipping took longer than I anticipated and there was no communication during the time between my order and the arrival of the pants. I am glad I did not have an immediate need for them or that they were a gift.

Not many things upset me, but when you create a shipping label so you can say you shipped and bill me and you don't ship for 5+ days. You get the point.
Why does my men's coat have a female zipper? Is this a Canadian thing?
I used the coat and pants for a Rocky Mountain hike/scramble in December. Moreno wool base layer and I was almost overheating in 20F weather. Used both for a ski trip the next week during the blizzard over Christmas. Both performed extremely well. Pants didn't fit over ski boots but powder was fluffy and of no concern. Other than the wrong zipper I am happy with my purchase.
