Closed my account in March. Still haven't received my 3k deposit. Do not get a card with this company. I'm truly at a loss how a company can do this to so many people without repercussion.
They opened an account in my name that I did not even had access to and charged me late fees on that, I could not even pay those fees and that affected my credit score by 40 points. I called customer service and they treated me like garbage, talked for 1 hour and they said it would take 90 days to solve my case, that my only option was to wait. They even made me pay those fees through the phone but refused to close that account that I don't have access to… guess I will have to wait 90 days and then called them back
Never ever bank with them. They will hold hundred of dollars without your consent for 30 days and just say "it's our policy" complete bs o will never recommend this company to anyone else! I can't even rent car because they are holding my money for no reason what so ever! I believe they just want your money to accrue interest while it sits in their banking system! Oh and another thing they won't let me use my checking account to pay for my monthly payments because I had my card locked one time and the money didn't clear once I noticed and unlocked my card it was an error message and when I called they said I need to use a different account and can no longer use that one. I hate this company and I've only had them for a month! Who knows what other types of hell they're waiting to put me through smh. I'm definitely getting rid of them asap
Ok So I give Open Sky I try Knowingly they on some bull and wallli I make a payment Friday which they stated funds are available in 48 hrs today Tuesday so I'm like ok where my money so I call and they tell me it's clear but we hold it 5 days so Friday it will be available Lesson if you need your money don't count on them I hate them already and haven't had account a month why would you just hold my money I can hold my own money and now I'm mad as heck
They don't care about their customers and treat them like garbage. Waste of money and terrible company all around.
Negative 100 Stars! Nightmare experience. Deplorable customer service. Ridiculous business.They took my money then froze my card and demand my bank break their own policies in order to unfreeze my card. Yet they won't release my $1k. I can't use it. Nor will they allow me to close account. So sorry I ever fell for this gimmick! DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH OPEN SKY!

What started as a credit building journey turned into a credit builder scam. I entrusted OpenSky w its a credit card deposit initial amount of $1000 to begin building credit. As I further trusted them I increased my deposit to $1500. At one point I almost went ahead and increased my deposit further to $5000. Thank the universe something just made me not do it. For 2 years straight I made all my payments ON TIME, maybe just one was slightly late at the most but overall I was near PERFECT. Then out of the blue BOOM they close my account for no reason. At first I was devastated because I wanted to keep building my credit but ultimately I accepted it and was doing fine getting accepted with normal credit companies. BUT, Open Sky would not return my security deposit of $1500. Their customer service often has HOURS of waits, no e-mail, no chat, no text. They have sort of PO BOX for mail and a long long customer service wait nightmare. For years I have waited to get this security deposit back being tossed from one department to the next. Only today have I discovered I have to talk to the "Carson Smithfield" department (Brand New Information) to attempt to get my security deposit back. I've had enough. These crooks should not be allowed to operate! They prey on people needing to build credit then steal their deposit. Give me back my security deposit OpenSky!
Two times in a row I called to make a payment with an alternative payment method and they still charged the card on file causing me several overdraft fees. Luckily I watch my account and caught it while still in the grace period so my other bills weren't late but when I called open sky about this all they wanted to do was remove my saved account. No empathy for all the overdraft fees, no explanation and definitely no apology. They did not care about the charges they caused me, they did not do anything to make it right. Thank God Y12 saw this has never happened and refunded my money the first time. Now again…. I have to try to make it to the bank before my house payment is charged.
If you close the account and it's paid they charge u as they did me and I didn't know 7 months later I tried getting a house and my credit is crap thanks to them they are scammers and give random charges and take money and I proved it yet still filing disputes and getting hung up on
DO NOT USE OPEN SKY CREDIT CARDS! I made a payment, they took the money from my account then REFUSED to release my funds to my available balance. I spoke with 3 different people who "couldn't see the payment" after hours of waiting on a supervisor she says she can't release the funds even though she sees the payment. The lady then hangs up and emails me saying they closed my account! WITHOUT REFUNDING MY MONEY! I had to contact Wells Fargo (the account I used to pay Open Sky). Wells Fargo informed them what they did was illegal and WELLS FARGO RETURNED MY Open Sky payment!
I have 2 cards through open sky. One with a $500 secured deposit and my most recent with a $2590 secured deposit. I havent had problems with my $500 card so I felt comfortable opening up the additional account. I took my entire vacation fund and I put it towards having a secured credit card and so they had my deposit. I got my card days before I left for my vacation and when I was on vacation I utilized the card many many times. Every single day I had to call them and have them unfreeze my card because it was being flagged for fraud even though I was telling them numerous times that it was not fraudulent activity it was mine. I don't understand how if I'm telling them it's not fraud and I put the money up for the secured card not them why I kept getting flagged for fraud. The day before my vacation ended as I went to go purchase the rental car to go home My card was frozen and ultimately they had decided that they were going to freeze the card and terminate my business agreement with them because there were too many fraudulent red flags that had gone up even though I called in five times a day to tell him that they were not red flags. So I was unable to rent my car to get home on my vacation. I've never been waiting 3 weeks for the rest of my deposit to be mailed back to me and I don't believe that they're in any rush to do that they were sure eager to get my money but when it came down to it in the end they took my money and then just wanted to terminate our agreement for no valid reason
It ruined my entire vacation having to call that many times and being embarrassed at the cashiers every time that my card was declined. It was a $#*! show and if I can go back in time and not do it I would have just brought the cash on my vacation like I should have or kept it on my cash app card.
I don't know why the handful of people talking good but, I had this card and credit went down,done how I was 50 cents shy of paying my bill,a half dollar now I had to pay I believe it was 40 dollars and because my account was 50 cents shy 9n my debit card,I can't even use my debit card any more and after just few hours they told all three credit companies that I didn't pay,but how they expect me to pay without my card I don't know but just one time and I can't use.that debit card do I told them after waiting hour to talk if I close out get my deposit 8 have to wait 10 or more weeks before they will send my refund,that is just crazy,they don't help with credit they help mess it up but they all
A card holder with them for years, times are tough and I couldn't afford it anymore and the app would not let me make a payment. So I called to pay & cancel; I paid a small additional balance over my security deposit and thought that was it. However, when I looked at my account on the app that night a random mysterious payment of $100 was posted ahead of the small payment I had made and approved of $21.91. I never made this $100 payment. It was nowhere in the apps history under payments or any evidence of a payment made on NOVEMBER 16th ANYWHERE! Almost 3 weeks earlier! Supposedly that's what they said when I called. If so why was this not in the app until now and says it was made the same day I closed my account? Why was it not already processed? It doesn't take 2 plus weeks to take a payment. They said it was made on my app which has no data showing that is true. On this phone call I was told because the payment was already processed and made in November they could not stop the charge that is about to overdraw me by that same amount, not to mention the overdraft fees. I asked to speak to a supervisor and while waiting for them to transfer my call, I was hung up on. Now irate I called again, spoke with I think her name was Alicia. She told me the same BS, could not explain any of it, I still was not allowed to speak with a supervisor on this very serious theft of my money. They are doing an "investigation" and will supposedly call me in 1 business day. They still hadn't taken my money but couldn't stop the payment? The payment was old but also new and only appeared in the app after choosing to close my account. This seems to me like a scam or an FU for leaving their services. The amount of distress, unrest, and additional hit to my finances is unacceptable and unexplainable even by them. Will update after the next call.
The customer service sucks this is definitely not the right to go if trying to build your credit. They lie and know is on the same page.
Got the card for closing on my home as per my financial adviser I had the card for 5 months never increased my credit score I got a notification there was fraud charge so I contacted them and said close the account...never heard another word from them a few months later my wife checked her score and it was well over 700 so I said well alright and went and checked mine and it was below 500...I was extremely shocked so I looked and saw they hit my credit for 40 points for the last 4 months I called them and asked what was going on they said I owed over 300 and it was a secure card for 200...I said it was cancelled 4 months ago when they frauded my account and they said there was late fees and thats where I'm at now fighting with them...ill never get my score back

I paid my balance in full and was requesting for a letter of completion but I hit a run around all the time! It's been a week all am getting is different stories for the customer service reps. If it's been over 72 hrs, what else are you waiting for to just generate a letter and sent it to my email. I called today and the rep tells me since I don't consent to phone call, I can't get sent an email how are those connected? Y'all never asked about my email which is already on file and I have no problems with it. Just that it's my preferred method of communication. She tells me that they are the third party company taking calls for open sky. This is ridiculous. You might as well as employ people from other countries like India or Philippines to work for y'all cause I don't think you guys know what goes on with your customers. I would never recommend this card to anyone! Waste of time! Wait time is the longest and then when you get to recovery department, they playing games or they don't even know what's going on.!so frustrating
I have an OpenSky credit card for two-plus years. They have a very long wait time to speak with a representative. When I call to report fraudulent charges the nightmare begins. They gave me the wrong information and forgot to report all of the fraudulent charges. I tried to tell them because they didn't give temporary credit for all the transactions. They had my credit card account in the negative for one going two months and charged me late fees. They told me how to make a minimum payment I did they still had me in the negative. They transferred me around to another credit card that does not work with my credit card company. My phone calls were disconnected when they put me on hold. On or around September 15,2023, they again gave me wrong information and transferred around a total of 7 people and was still not help with my issues. They told Mr. That the fraudulent transaction investigation was closed but they missed two to three fraudulent transactions I told them many times to add them but they kept saying they were added. It is amazing how disorganized this company is. They told me one thing then I received a letter saying someone else. My credit score was effectively very negative because of their sloppiness. I strongly recommend that you do your business somewhere else. It's many credit cards that can help build your credit with less headaches and mental stress.
This has to be by far the worst experience I've ever been through. First off, I sent them a $200 deposit to open my credit account in order to build my credit. They opened my account and "mailed my card" 3 days after my account was opened. I never received the card. 3 weeks later I call customer service and have the card reported as lost or stolen. They "reissue the card" and "mail it out again" the same day I call. A month later... Still nothing. I call again and ask them to refund my money back to my original method of payment. NOPE, can't do that they say. We have to mail you a check that will take up to ANOTHER MONTH and can't guarantee the check will make it to me if the cards never did. Then they proceed to bribe me once with $25 credit to keep my account open and then try to bribe me with a $35 credit to keep my account open after I told them no to the first $25 credit. Then after another series of 21 questions they finally closed the account and issued me a check that is going to take a month to get here. After hanging up the phone I get an email update of my credit score saying it dropped 5 points? I'm am highly pissed off and will be taking this whole situation to a lawyer and will be suing the company. I give them a negative 5 star review.
So I just recently became a customer for first impressions this crediter is horrible they have no customer service skills. I applied and got approved and deposited the money when Iid that I callled to see how long it would take to create my account it took them two weeks to create my account then when it's been approved and I received a email letting me know I was. So I called because I had spoke to two separate employee representatives about having it overnighted to me or rushed they told me that was a option for me but then when I called today the supervisor was very rude she wasn't helpful shaneka needs to learn customer service I work in property management and real estate and I would never have a customer that I couldn't help them with a issue or come to some sort of resolution. I waited on the call for a hour and half just to speak to someone. When shaneka spoke to me she told me there was no other supervisor and that I'd have to wait on a call back. I think this is really ridiculous and highly unsatisfying. To me first impressions are everything I'm very much upset at the fact there telling me I now have to wait a entire 3 weeks almost just to received a credit card. Like I'm so upset and I won't be recommending this to anyone anytime soon. ESP just due to the lack of communication on open sky's behalf and your representatives need to be trained. I hope this makes it to corporate.
