Here's the common thread... they advertise something as being in stock, you buy it, they immediately charge your card, and then when it doesn't ship in a reasonable amount of time, you call them and they tell you: "Your order is being processed," or "It's been sent to the shipping department," or "Shipping is slow due to (Biden, Covid, whatever!)," while the truth is it was never in stock and they're lying to you... it's a scam! If/when they receive a new shipment and you haven't given up by then, they'll ship it to you. If you did give up and cancel your order, they'll hang on to your money for as long as they can.
If you read all the reviews, you will understand exactly what they're doing. If you do business with them, you're just asking to get screwed. If you do business with them twice... you're a masochist.

I recently ordered scope rings, after a reasonable amount of time elapsed (2 weeks) I had corresponded. They basically rambled about being at a "satellite warehouse " and slight delay. Some more time went by and I corresponded again and met with another stalling rant. I still waited and without any explanation they just refunded my money back to pay pal. Extremely poor customer relations and terrible business practices. You suck optic planet! Don't buy anything from these people! Take that star off of there and shove it!
The worst return process!
Their shipping is one of the slowest online retailer. They are the worst when it comes to returning something. Their return process takes at least 45 days or more before you get credit. I even tried "store credit" which Opticsplanet highly recommends and states the fastest way to get credit back on returns. Well... more than 30 days and they still haven't issued a store credit. They received the item in 3 days and acknowledged the return and states they will post credit in my account. I've contacted customer service and they send you an automated response regarding their credit return policy which is FALSE. If you can find you item or product somewhere else do not get it from optics planet.
I've seen the bad reviews but ignored it thinking it wouldn't happen to me. Well, I just made myself a victim when I had all the data telling me not to do business with Opticsplanet.

Ordered Fuji XP 140 camera. Received email notification order was placed. Noticed online that it was on backorder. Called customer service. On hold 20 minutes got verification from the representative everything was fine it was going to ship. Received a follow-up email stating I needed to run some stupid verification process for a credit card with a zero balance. Credit card company had no problem with the charge. Another 20 minutes waiting for representative decided to cancel the order from this garbage company. Don't recommend doing business with him customer service sucks
Please do yourself a favor and stay as far away from company as possible. Truly PATHETIC. Just absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and business with zero care for their customers. You will NEVER get the product you ordered and they may even charge you twice and screw you out of the money like me!
Bought over priced Chinese junk. Didn't work strait out of the box. You'd think for the price. It would at least kind of work for awhile. Nope.
It's far too easy to buy something and it is NOT even in stock. Also, if they do have something in stock, it doesn't get shipped for a week or more... really poorly run!
Ordered a product on November 30,2020. CC is charged. Received the product on December 10,2020. It was obviously used and defective. Called in and was met with apologies and a promise of a new product as soon as I sent the defective one in thru their RMA. Did it, a new order was established on December 11th. One week goes by, two weeks, 3 weeks... replacement still has not been shipped. I call customer service and am assured that it is in stock and is being processed for shipment. Four weeks go by, five weeks... still nothing. Then I received an email that states the product is no longer available. I call in again. Receive apologies and the excuse of Covid. Am asked if there is another product I'd like instead. I agree. This product is not in stock, but will ship in 12-15 weeks. They say my original charge will be applied and was offered a 10% discount that would be applied to my CC (this never happened). I'm able to find the product thru another vendor. I call to cancel the order with Optics Planet. They agree, but not for the amount of my original purchase. When I ask why, they say it's because of the 10% discount on the replacement product, which I never received. Terrible company.

Find out they were holding my order for one item that would not be in stock till Apr 4 2021. So
I canceled that item so they would send the other items. That was Jan 5 2021 they took the money out of my account Jan 6 2021. Have been trying to call and cancel order on line they will not answer either way.
Now I find if you want a full refund instead of exchange or store credit they suck $7.99 out of you.
Been waiting and waiting for a product that they said would ship in a week and it's been a month still nothing tried contacting them and their typical response "we're working as hard as we can and shipping your item" me; don't sell it if you don't have it!
If you are lucky, you can sometimes find a deal and have it shipped without issues. I have had multiple occasions where they list an item in stock that is not in stock. They don't fill backorders properly either. Often times if you contact customer service, they are not very honest.
Never again will I buy anything from this poorly managed company. When they fail to deliver your item on time, It is impossable to get a straight answer from them. They refuse to provide you with a shipping date. I called customer service and got a recording that they were not taking calls. When customer service refuses to take your call there is no service and no repeet customer.
Site advertised 1-2 days shipment and free returns. This is the by far the farthest from the truth. Ordered scope rings and they were the wrong ones(my fault) but realized this after several weeks of still not having them in hand. Ordered the correct ones knowing the delays of this business. Once I received to incorrect rings I tried to start the return process, this was a joke. I was told that the items was not eligible for return. It wasn't until I stated I would just deal with Vortex as they would solve this issue that I got somewhere, but only a reissued exchange not refund.
The correct rings that I placed on a second order have yet to ship after 19 days, phone calls and reassured 2 day shipping. Can't wait to see how long return and reissue take.
Oh and they love to push out as many emails as they can but can't fill orders
This place... requires more patience than I have. My boyfriend ordered from here and said he received his order about a month or two later. I ordered at the end of November, received an email saying man items were being packed to ship on Dec 2nd and that I'd receive an email with tracking info shortly. As of Dec 18th that still hadn't been received. I called customer service (multiple times as it has a holding sound and hangs up after a certain amount of time) finally after about 1.5 hrs or so I did get the ring and was able to talk to someone. They offered to escalate the issue but as this was a Christmas gift I didn't have time to wait and it wouldn't have been received in time. The refund was quick (about 24-48 hrs) and customer service was friendly. If you order from here, just make sure you have time to wait. Sounds like most items aren't in stock and they are instead more of a "middle man."

Here is how Optics Planet works.
In their old days they never would tell in stock till you ordered it!
Then they email you not in stock! And you would wait forever.
Now their new trick is to be so SLOW with your order that you look elsewhere and cancel.
BUT WAIT! When you cancel it takes days and they now HURRY to ship your order because you want to cancel.
Then they charge you to return if you want a refund (which you should get because you cancelled 3 days ago) but only store credit.
So do not order from this Midway wantabe and order else where.
In August I ordered rounds that were supposed to be in stock. I was impressed to be notified that they would be shipped within 2 weeks. Within a couple days Opticsplanet changed it to a month out and after checking their site several times this date moved to an additional 2 weeks, then a month and now it's February 2021. I also placed a new order in September, but this caught up with the same shipment dates. I didn't have rounds for my range training class or for practicing, although I ordered them in time. I agree about customer service practices- I experienced the same. I planned to not get out of line to receive my order, but will now that I'm lucky they didn't yet charge me. I will cancel and avoid the extra headache from a wrong order! Phew!
This website is absolutely terrible. Almost all ammo shows as "Back-Ordered". And good look actually finding any optic sights that aren't overpriced. When you actually do find something in stock, it takes them over a month to ship it. Customer support is poor and takes almost a full week to respond. They have no issues taking your money, but have major issues with just about everything else. Stay far away from this train wreck.
Ordered 9mm ammunition in November with an expected delivery date of Nov 15. Shipment date changed to Jan 13,2021. No problem. I understand a month or so delay. Today shipment date changed to March 13,2021. Totally unacceptable
Answer: They ripped us off too. I'm going to file a BBB complaint and will mention I'm not the only one the took $$ from and never delivered my order and accused us of lying about it.
