Origin

I have purchased a lot of games and a subscription through Origin however I am unable to use these items because of launcher problems:

1. The launcher crashes on first load, every time.
2. the launcher pops up in front of other windows on my computer frequently for no reason, alt tabbing me out of games, this is unacceptable.
3. the report problem tool in the launcher does not work (ha!) so i cant report these items and have them fixed

So i am leaving a review for you lovely people so you can avoid spending hundreds of your hard earned pounds on an awful product that will leave you high and dry.

Of course origin is not great or not even good at all because the refund is $#*! cant do anything about that and that the company who owns this is also full of $#*! just cares about stealing money in a legal way. Basically everything about this is $#*!, no one is helping you, only goes straight to a bot because no one would want to work for a $#*! company. Don't even download this because it hogs all of your data and cant even play a game on it even when its not a game from origin. So terrible i hope it gets taken down soon.

Origin is the worst! I updated Sims 4 which took 4 hours, I then bought Sims 4 cats and dogs which also took 4 hours to download and install- by the time I went to play it, Origin had to update- which continued to crash. I. T had only just recently serviced my computer and I have no issues with any other games, browsing or downloads. I followed all the troubleshooting problems suggested on the Origin EA official website (including manually uninstalling 'Origin'), now it won't even re-download. I've had enough- You spend money on games you can't even play. Origin is impossible, especially for those who are not computer savvy. It should be simple to use and not require so much hassle.

Origin is a joke of a site and service. I would never use Origin if EA didn't force it on me. Every time I try to play a game tied to Origin, it says it needs to update, the update fails and their help online does nothing to fix the issue (which has been around for more than five years at this point). Crazy how I can use other game storefronts without any issue, yet Origin is still as broken and buggy as it was at launch.

I have NEVER had a problem with Origin until recently. Firstly, I guess the only section of Sims I cannot pay on my Mac is the Star Wars expansion I purchased. Next I upgraded my gaming PC and I wasted so much time trying to download this s#!@ show just to be able to try the damn expansion. Needless to say it has been months and now that I finally found a site that will allow me to download Origin. I have had to update the thing multiple times just to open the launcher. (WAIT!) Nope, never mind it didn't install. Waste of time and now it feels like I have wasted money!

Avoid using this platform. If you do use. Ensure you receive an email if you cancel your membership I have still continued to be charged over the last two months. I contacted the CS live chat and they informed me that they were unable to help as I hadn't contacted them within 7 days. If I'd clicked 'cancel membership' and was taken to the home page I'd assume it would have gone through!?! Very unhappy that they were 'not able' to refund.

Keeps saying ''Your credentials are incorrect or have expired. Please try again or reset your password''. And when I try to reset my password it sends me empty emails. I have to contact the customer service everytime I want to log in. They've even resetted my whole account yet nothing changed. So annoying. Also tried to use another account to play, but of course it won't let me because I don't have the game code. There's no way I can play my games.

You can't play your games offline. You need internet to access your games and THEN select offline mode. Why do I have to go through origin to play my games that do not require the internet? Very stupid choice. Constantly requires you update games before playing seemingly every other time you play, poorly designed, difficult to navigate when downloading. Would give 0 stars if possible.

I could not play the game the night I paid for it due to servers being "temporarily unavailable." After receiving the message days later and consulting support, it was clear they knew they were having issues with Mac, yet I was still able to purchase a Mac product through the site. I was never able to play successfully even with customer support. It also brings up a weird bar on my display that was never there before. I was told "in the future" it will work better for Mac. My suggestion: wait till the future to sell it to me then.

Invites don't work, games don't download, terrible overlay that is incompatible with most its games, EA pass is good but it doesn't matter because you can barely play the games. Worst experience I've had with a launcher and EA does not care in the slightest.

Bought a game about 3 months ago and started playing, i got bored and stopped. Yesterday i decided to log back in my account and started playing. Today i went back on and suddenly it kicked me out with no explanation! It said 'cannot log in without internet connection', but i had internet. I have just logged in to see no games in my library. 0/5 stars, very horrible customer service and very horrible help! And whatever the 'product code' is to 'access your game anytime, anywhere - even if you lose your disc' doesn't work as well! Very horrible engine do not recommend at all! A summary of what happened to me is my account got reset. My Wishlist, my icon, my games, even my achievements!

The absolute worst "game client" if you can really call it that, that I have ever used. I've never been more frustrated trying to use a piece of software than I have with this, and I work in Information Technology. In all honesty, you'd probably have a better chance of finding a pirated copy of EA's games than using Origin. It never wants to work when you're not connected to the internet, and even when you are connected to the internet, there's always some kind of issue that prohibits you from simply playing a game. Not to mention the fact that it's nearly impossible to modify your games because EA has a bad opinion on modding games. Overall, I would never recommend that anyone use Origin, in fact I would recommend staying as far away from Origin. It's an absolute nightmare.

So the only reason I have origin installed is because of spore and I chose to download spore on origin since it was cheaper than any other offer at the time and for that one task it does okay. In my experience this launcher is mediocre at best, It constantly crashes and its very limited. One of the most annoying things is that origin keeps on moving itself to my startup app list. I've disabled this feature in both windows and the launcher and It keeps on doing this and I have no idea why. This is super annoying and I don't have this same problem with any other launcher. In conclusion, don't use this launcher unless you want to save a couple bucks on EA games. In hindsight, I wish I would have just paid the 20$ on steam for spore and not have to deal with origin.
