So the only reason I have origin installed is because of spore and I chose to download spore on origin since it was cheaper than any other offer at the time and for that one task it does okay. In my experience this launcher is mediocre at best, It constantly crashes and its very limited. One of the most annoying things is that origin keeps on moving itself to my startup app list. I've disabled this feature in both windows and the launcher and It keeps on doing this and I have no idea why. This is super annoying and I don't have this same problem with any other launcher. In conclusion, don't use this launcher unless you want to save a couple bucks on EA games. In hindsight, I wish I would have just paid the 20$ on steam for spore and not have to deal with origin.
This website has so many problems and bugs I cant even explain them all. From billing to trying to add something to buy it refuses to add a game to allow purchase. Help section is pointless with very little information. The website is in horrible condition and i could just imagine a parent that is trying to buy something for their children and get so fed up and confused to wtf is going on. Im sure this website loses so much money its a horrible way to do business. I am a web designer and i would be fired for this site.
Origin is the worst platform ever! It always uninstalls my games or removes them completely, updates needed frequently when launching, not user friendly at all. Such a waste of time and money spent on games that can barely be played properly, absolutely sick of it. EA needs to change this seriously. I can only imagine how poorly theyre performing against other platforms in this space. Very disappointing.
Downloaded 50 gb for Star Wars Battleground and played once. Next day it seems like the origin downloader program self updated and erased the 50 gb download. So far after 4 days waiting I still dont have a response from customer service... so, its 2017 and an large, established gaming company doesn't know how to reliably deliver their product nor run a customer service department... please know what you're getting into before using this company. Also, Lucasfilm... I expect better licensing partners from you...
I only use it when I play sims. Which is every so often. It takes ************** years to start just the log in screen. I just sit there clicking, and half the time I never even get a chance to play because it takes all day. Plus it crashes.
Do NOT install origin if you value your computer. It is essentially malware and after about a week of dealing with its bs, your will to live will significantly diminish. My computer's speed went from Usain Bolt to an 80 year old grandpa attempting to cross the street after downloading this malicious app. You basically get pop-up ads in-game and it will restart your computer whenever it sees fit. As I said earlier, do not under any circumstances get origin for your pc.
People always seem to wonder why so many gamers are going from Origin to Steam. The answer is simple, Origin sucks. If I try to download a game on the same computer I bought it on, it should be almost an instant process. Buy the game, get sent the product code, download the game. However, Origin does not seem to share this sentiment. You spend half an hour trying to buy the game because Origin makes it so difficult then have to wait 48 hours to even be SENT the code and another few hours for it to download. Businesses should be making it as simple as possible to purchase and enjoy the business so that people want to support it. If you make everything 12 times more difficult that it should be, they can't be upset or surprised when PAYING customers refuse to pay.
Dont buy games on this app because it might have a lot of problems. I buyed a controler and it works realy good on other aplications like epic games and steam. On every origin game it have so many problems. All my controler buttons are swiched.
The hot water provided in the complex is as much per quarter as my electricity. And they are still increasing the rate all the time, even during this covid period. I have no choice because they provide the hot water for the complex so if you have the choice, choose another provider.
It is the worst at playing games, even worse than epic games which says a lot. I cannot believe that any game designers would sign a contract to have origin be the platform they wish to be presented on. Plenty of crashing and lag moments where the game doesnt play even though witcher 3 and borderlands play clean. Granted I'm playing fifa 21 which isnt great as a game in the first place but i got it on sale so whatever.
Sometimes Origin is fine. Sometimes it works. But it's so awful. It logs you out 24/7, even when you ask it to keep you logged in. The games take forever to load and the only decent game on there is the Sims 4.
Origin is the worst thing to ever happen to EA games. Origin is slow and the games sometimes don't launch. Trying to contact support is impossible. You will spend 30 minutes trying to submit a ticket then when you do, you will never get a response. Don't even bother with their live chat. You will be put in a "queue" that doesn't exist. I literally was in "live" chat for 24hrs waiting for an EA Customer Service Agent. I went to "live" chat, waited 15 minutes, decided that it doesn't work so then I went to bed. Woke up the next day, still "waiting" so I went to work. Came back from work 9 hours later, guess what? Yep! Still waiting!
Brand new computer, just installed COD: MW, a fleet of steam games then I get to origin, what do I get? Malfunctions galore. I loved the Battlefield franchise and it was disgusting how EA just $#*! on it so bad they forced me to leave and they haven't fixed anything. DO NOT waste anytime with EA. The platform and the games are half assed garbage. You can enjoy your time with another product.
Out of all the launchers I use, origin is the most useless infuriating one. You can't even save your profile information reliably and have to log in weekly, and when you do log in it has to update, and after finishing you have to go through a multiple step process to even update a game, and each step has a waiting period in between where you are not sure if there will be a next step, which is inseparable in a hurry. If I click on "update game", then I want the game to be updated, not to click on multiple different allow windows.
Disconnected like 5 times in a row this weekend of weekend league on FIFA 19, and got a loss for each. Good internet, good PC, just a horrendous platform. If u ever think about buying a game and it's on Origin, think again and don't do this mistake.
I've put hundreds of dollars into EA games (thankfully mostly physical copies), and my account is gone forever. Several years ago I lost access to the email tied to the account (the email provider deleted it, and I didn't catch it until months later), contacted them about it, and was told I needed proof of ownership of at least one of the games digitally connected to the account, which requires: photos of the CD, the code(s) for the game, proof of the cost of the game, and a receipt... Seeing as the game franchise I had both physical and digital of was nearly 10 years old at this point in time... I had everything except the receipt, because why would I? So they wouldn't help me.
Tried again one more time, and now the Origin account has been *deleted* and the only way to recover it is by sending a recovery email to that email that I have no access to. I have tried contacting the email support, but they have a 30 day policy on their deletions.
The big takeaway is that your Origin account can just casually be deleted at any point. That shouldn't be a thing with monetary purchases involved. There is literally no reason to purchase anything through them, the entire point of having an account is to have everything protected and accessible for the future.
Every single time I get an update I get an error, and often when I log in it tells me theres an issue with origin. It isn't my end because I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 different times. Your launcher is trash, your servers are trash. Fire whoever is in charge of this garbage and start over. You've got great games available with a terrible platform to run them.
Stop making trash launchers, or better yet, be less trashy developers.
I am VERY dissatisfied because i wanted to delete my Origin + my The Sims 4 game, but either there are constant technical problems or something doesnt want to uninstall. It is very frustrating, it is very slow and I am not happy
"Your credentials are incorrect or have expired. Please try again or reset your password." You can not reset your password and when you need to try and contact support to do this simple thing you realise how hard it is to contact support. Absolute maze of a website to start a support chat and when you find said chat you can not open one as it is a broken website.
In the past I hated this service for lot of reasons but it made some progress. As an easy loader/uploader of EA games and their DLCs it is now even - I'd say - decent. However one of the extremely annoying features remains. They set the language of their store depending on your IP address and there is absolutely no way to change it. So if you're English/International speaking person working in Germany for example you cannot read the store in English. But at least the purchased games are now offered in English version too.
Answer: No longer. They have you by the neck if anything goes wrong.
Origin has a rating of 1.4 stars from 197 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Origin most frequently mention customer service, epic games and multiple times. Origin ranks 929th among Games sites.
