“Not that bad”

Ken B.
3/14/16

I've tried 2 different sites, the latest was OurTime. I surely has some issues, but it is not that bad as it seems to be. However I still didn't find the One... So now, I'm giving PrimeTimeLove a try.

“The site admins deleted me”

I was blocked from their site 1 day after creating an account. All i did was log in and looked at several ladies profiles. I "liked" a few of them but git busy doing other things. I tried to get on the next day and they had blocked me. They said for confidential reasons they would not tell me why. I'm sure glad I didnt subscribe.

This dating site is scraping the bottom of the barrel. On rare occasion is the a profile that appears to be acceptable. Seems to be scammers also. Don't waste your time or money!

But you can't see them without signing up. And when you DO sign up, you discover that about 147 of those "messages" are auto genearated and sent when someone looks at your profile. You can't tell if the person you are sending a message to is a member or not, so you have a way to "insure" that they can reply for free... it only costs almost $10 per person. And that only ALLOWS them to reply... it doesn't mean that they will. And it's either a poor advertising technique or it's really slimy because if you look at a profile and close the window, a message pops up "find out when she opens it". I can't stand POF, but at least there your membership allows you to see when they read an email. This site is kind of like the airline fees... want to see who messaged you? Sign up. Want to see if they opened a mail... theres' a fee. Want to allow them to reply (not knowing if they are already a paid member)? There's another fee. And there are a lot of fake profiles. How do I know? Because you will come across a LOT of profiles that are word for word identical to other profiles.

First time I had been on a dating site since I was in my 20's. Being an honest person, never even thought sites would play the games they apparently do! First had technical issues with photos disappearing or not getting loaded or approved (with nothing being inappropriate about them). Luckily, they did have a call center (not in the U.S.) that would assist. Other problems I experienced were getting TONS of canned messages such as "Your photo caught my eye" or "Nice profile", with a lot of these profiles being incomplete with no photos. I totally believe most of these were completely fake profiles, their way of making it seem as if men were interested so I would want to keep paying them.
What kind of educated person can't write a few independent sentences they can't come up with on their own? Men would come up that in no way met my search criteria. But probably the most disingenuous thing I ended up finding out for a FACT from customer service, is they do not take down old profiles (if they are even real to begin with). So you could spend hours of your time messaging people that haven't been on that site for possibly years. This angered me to no end when I found out, I'm busy and they have no respect for people's time. Bought a six month subscription and ended up getting 5 months credited. (Thank GOD!) DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS SITE!

There are perhaps a few "real" seniors on this website, but they definitely are in the minority. Based on my search criteria, Our Time claims I have 146 matches. The profiles for about 80% of these matches are so incomplete that they appear to be either bogus or whimsical. But in any case, not serious. About 90% of these matches have not been active at any time recently, which could mean they found somebody - or gave up in disgust like I have done. The primary purpose of this business seems to be to generate website traffic - which generates ad revenue for Our Time. I get an email from Our Time claiming that someone with a name like HollyGoLightly has made me her favorite. But when I go to the website, there is no indication that HollyGoLightly has viewed my profile, much less sent me a flirt or a message or made me her favorite. So I spend 5 minutes on the website and visit several pages looking in vain for HollyGoLightly. This generates ad revenue for Our Time, but is a total waste of My Time. So, in my considered opinion, Our Time will be a waste of Your Time - and money, if you are stupid enough to sign up.

As slow as molasses, click on links & it just sits there then after 30-45 seconds you have to click a second time as it just stops trying. Their networking needs work big time.

Recently I paid off my PayPal Credit Card. I caught a charge from PeopleMedia for a 3 month subscription of OurTime last night. I had not been an active member since March so I called & asked for it to be credited and they did. But when I saw they billed me for 3 months In June I also asked it to be credited. First they said no because They said I didn't check the box to unsubscribe which I knew wasn't true. So I called them back, this time they said I reacted to an email which only took me to a page stating I needed to subscribe (which I choose Not to) so I was charged for three months because in their contract they can charge you for reacting with their site! Beware! I don't want anything to do with a website that charges you and you reap no benefits from that subscription you didn't want in the first place! Match.com has never done that. To take a step further if you pay through PayPal and didn't cancel subscription with them Ourtime can pull money out every month as well as any other vendor you may of paid out to. Buyers beware!

Watch for this on any of the dating sites this guy is on alot of them match and alot more so if you see this this in a male looking for someone then here are a few other things to look for he lives on the lake he's bald and stays in shape looking for honesty and it's a lie biggest liar and game player there is and for the first 4 months or so he will treat you like gold but after that his true colors come out I was with him for 10 years and another i had the pleasure of finally being able to talk to was with him for 7 months and she seen his true colors but he tells everyone I was psycho or doesn't mention me at all and his neighbors will lie and back him up on anything he says because he does alot for them so this is not a revenge thing this is to save women who really do want someone honest and wants to fall in love and be together for along time not a fling since I left him in 2013 he has had 5 women and none of them stuck around but he will give you an excuse for each one and it will always be the women's fault just words of advice for any of these dating sites out there be careful

I created an account but didn't actually pay until 3 weeks after - when I received a great deal in an email. Fast forward to today, I log into my laptop and discovered that during the 3 weeks I wasn't a paying member, they would send fake messages to other members. Ourtime sent members that I clicked 'yes I would be interested' fake messages that; I made them my favorite member, I loved their pictures, I wanted to hear more from them, I had sent a flirt... which I had NEVER sent. That eventually triggered an email sent to those members that I had liked their profile somehow. And eventually, those members would reply back to my profile with either flirts or a response that would trigger an email back to me that someone had made me there favorite, or I have a message from a member, ect... all to entice me to pay to join.

Upon discovering that, I changed my profile to totally idiotic choices because no matter who sends me a flirt, message or like my pictures, how am I to believe it was sent from a real member and not just someone who looked at my profile or just computer generated. Well guess what? I am still receiving flirts and messages with my idiot profile and I can bet you they are not from any member because there is no way anyone would reply to my profile the way it is now posted.

I am surprised Ourtime has not been investigated yet. There is nothing legitimate about them. All they do is take money from people. Seriously, that's all they do.

I JOINED "OUR TIME" IN AUGUST, SINCE THEN I'VE HAD TO CHANGE MY USER NAME AND PASS WORD 4 TIMES AND USE A SET UP A NEW EMAIL ACCT. FOR THIS SITE. MY USER NAME SHOWED UP WITH A MAN'S PHOTO TWICE! WHEN I COMPLAINED I WAS TOLD THAT FOR SECURITY REASONS THAT COULDN'T TRANSFER MY PHOTOS, ANY INFO AND I'D HAVE TO DO A WHOLE NEW PROFILE! SECURITY! WHAT KIND OF SECURITY IS THIS? I LOG OUT EVERYTIME I'M FINISHED ON THE SITE. I WAS ON THIS SITE 3 YRS, AGO AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. I TRIED TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR... ONLY 1 AVAILABLE... BUSY WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS SITE TO ANYONE! TRY POF. IT'S FREE ANDI'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT.

I agree with all the other reviews here regarding OurTime.com. I wish I had looked at the reviews before paying money to this fraud service.

I have just proven most of the profiles are fake. I make contact with a woman who claimed she was from Georgia, but she hinted in her profile with a zipcode from Nuevo León, Hualahuises Mexico.

I asked about it and within 10 minutes the profile was changed. This was the SECOND confirmable SCAM I encountered.

I've been in the process of getting a refund. I don't think I'll get it, even so, the OutTime web service NEEDS TO BE EXPOSED as FRAUD!

Our time is constantly lying when it tells you that you have a message. The site itself sends out AUTOMATED MESSAGES to you indicating that matches are "interested" in you when you view their profile and they view you in return. They count sending their own automated scam messages to you on behalf of matches, many of whom did not intentionally contact you at all. The site never seems to remove old profiles, so you will constantly contact match profiles of inactive members. I am no longer a member, but my profile remains open on the site. Approx 25 percent of all the "real" profiles of reasonably attractive member are scammer profiles. By real I mean a profile that is active. In Many of these scammer cases, the person pictured in the profile is not the profile maker. It is all a scam, and a lot of time and effort are spent receiving and corresponding with scammer.

At the point I joined Outime, the site was telling me I had 48 messages. Remember though that the site includes its own automated messages to you in that count. I contacted ALL of these so called messages. I had 4 actual messages sent by members who had reached out to me. I had received contact reminders from the site each day reminding me to respond to my unread messages (48). Through my entire experience ikon this site, I felt scammed and lied to

MY DAUGHTER IN LAW GOT ME USING OURLIFE OVER CHRISTMAS AS SHE FELT I HAD BEEN LONELY TOO LONG. SHE WAS RIGHT, AS USUAL. AFTER SOME TEETHING PROBLEMS (I LOST MY LOG IN PASSWORD, I COULDNT FIGURE OUT HOW TO SEARCH SPECIFIC AREAS, ETC) I STARTED USING THE SUBSCRIPTION MORE. IM NOW AT THE STAGE WHERE IVE LEFT OURTIME AND IM TRYING A NEW ONE CALLED PRIMETIMELOVE.COM, WHICH IS DEFININTELY MORE UP MY STREET. IVE HAD SOME LOVELY CORRESPONDANCE WITH GENTLEMEN IN VARIOUS PREDICAMENTS; A WIDOWER, TWO DIVORCED, ONE LOVELY MAN WHO HAD NEVER BEEN MARRIED AND USED THE SITE TO FIND NEW FRIENDS. OVERALL ID SAY IM VERY PLEASED I STUCK WITH THIS AND EVEN THOUGH I STILL NEED SOME COMPUTER TIPS FROM MY DAUGHTER IN LAW (AND EVEN MY GRANDSON SOMETIMES!) I FIND THE WHOLE ONLINE DATING SCENARIO QUITE FACINATING AND A WORTHWHILE, INEXPENSIVE AND FUN WAY TO MEET NEW PEOPLE.

With all the buzz around online dating, particularly for the over 50s, I decided to see what it was all about. I read an article in a popular British newspaper on the rise of the 'silver surfer' and how my generation is the fastest growing market for tablets and ipads. I must admit I like the idea, as its not like at my age im going to be going out as often as I did when I was younger (im a young 56!) and even if I did, how many of the women out there would be suitable for me? Online dating makes sense, at least to try. So I signed up to two sites (the article suggested that this was a good way to double your chances), this one and also a nice little site called primetimelove.com that I would recommend as a fun alternative with plenty of members. Anyway, joining was very easy and I was able to add a few pictures of myself that I had from a recent BBQ so that worked out nicely. I wrote some information about myself; hobbies, likes, dislikes. Didnt harp on too much as the article had said to keep things light and funny if possible. I've searched the female members and must say I like what ive seen at this point. Had a chat with a lady from Easy Sussex over the weekend and we seemed to get on well which is a good sign and a great start. So its a case of so far so good as far as im concerned and I can see me using these sites for sometime and who knows, maybe romance will bloom for this old timer! Either way its something different and takes a bit of focus away from work. Would recommend to anyone who isnt sure its really not as terrifying as it can seem!
