This is my last trip to parts geek. Twice now I've gotten defective parts on two different occasions. Parts geek will not even respond. They show only good reviews on their site like they have a good rating when in actually they are horrible.
Ordered oil filler cap for late model Porsche. Illustration on Website was exactly what I wanted. Part I received was cheap knock-off that I could have purchased for one-third the cost on eBay. Contacted their customer service and have been totally ignored since. Stick with Pelican Parts... you always know what you are getting from them!
Ordered a locking gas cap for a Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel and on there website it had a picture of mandatory setup for this cap to work. Mine was identical to there picture so I ordered it. Doesn't fit. The part that pisses me off the most is after you pay for it they pop up there little bull$#*! message that nothing is returnable along with no refunds… pretty much crooks in my opinion and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Stay away from them!
Ordered a driveshaft from Parts Geek. Two days later an empty box arrived. So far, Parts Geek has done exactly nothing to make this right, and have instead given me excuse after excuse as to why they can't issue a refund for something I paid for but never received. Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere.
Never again Parts Geek. First the web site changed my address. Luckily the neighbor up the street had it. Unfortunately they bent the AC line so it would fit in the box. Customer service was pretty rude and said the only thing I could do is return it, using the on line form. Obviously I would not recommend Parts Geek.
Because I had had correct parts before with these guys, I didn't think there would be an issue. When I finally got to my brake job, it was beyond 30 days and lo and behold they were the wrong parts. I explained that the label had been for an 05 Tacoma and showed them pictures of what came out of my 05 Tacoma and that they were not the same. After several email exchanges, they insisted there was nothing they would do because of the 30-day return policy. Now I have just wasted my money on parts that I cannot use. I will never use them again.
If you want a great price, and quick delivery these guys work. But if the part is wrong, get's lost, is damaged, you're going to get screwed. I got a part that was misrepresented in their web site, would not fit, and the only refunded me 80% of my money. Not cool.
Started out great. Warm and friendly gal took my order. Order took longer than expected to arrive. They packaged a 30 lb catalytic converter and manifold(30 lbs of steel and sharp edges with brackets etc) in a cardboard box with no packaging material. Resulting in a blown out shredded box and of course, a damaged part. Customer service call #1 was nice but the follow up promised was not made as of two days later.so call #2 to CS and guy threatens to terminate the call if I'm not "professional". I explained that he was the one being unprofessional because I'd already answered his question and requested a supervisor 3 times. Well, he hung up on me. Call #3 and talked to another guy who apologized but couldn't put me in touch with supervisor due to them being on a call. Waiting on response still... absolutely TERRIBLE! Not to mention the manifold flange had what appears to be dried epoxy all over it along with light rust all across it.
I ordered 2 abs sensors through their online chat. I provided my VIN but still recieved 1 incorrect sensor. I filled out an online return request and heard nothing back for over a week. As I type this, I have been on hold for 37 minutes. I am giving up on returning part and will sell it on ebay. Never again PartsGeek.com
Purchased a window wiper motor that has a 12 month warranty. The part failed at about 7 months use. Followed there procedure for return authorization with all the required documentation. Was told a credit would be issued in 3-7 days. It has been over 32 days and they appear to have forgotten how to issue a credit. Not impresses as they have nothing to loose as they have my money. Don't take the risk with this company. They are an example of what not to be from the service side of business.
I should have read the reviews first before ordering from them. Yes prices are hard to beat but customer service is part of the automobile business and they have none. I have tried to call there 800 number and stood on hold for over 20 min each time and been told i have used mu max open ticket allotment. Now im scared to send return and have to wait for my refund for fear i wont get it
I purchased 2 Strut Assembly's paid for Express shipping and they sent the wrong parts. 18 Hours later they required me to provide a picture of the wrong part as proof which was sent. Still haven't heard back. I called customer service 2 times and after being on hold for around minutes each time they hung up on me. Are they doing this on purpose? Shipping wrong parts I'm sure happens but getting it resolved with these guy's is impossible. Customer Service is frustratingly poor.
Sent wrong part sent it back one day after receiving it two weeks ago and no refund or no response and this was trough eBay and they have been no help at all. It's only 78$ but if you add that up with a few thousand pissed of customers they have quite the scam going
Heater core arrived in an opened box, damaged,(both tanks dented). Shipping box had no damage at all. Obviously was shipped damaged. Return took almost 30 days! Little to no communication. Had to have eBay step in. Same Spectra heater core is available at AutoZone for $20 less. Would never buy ANYTHING from this company again!
Parts never arrived just an empty box. I called they said they were refunding then set me up with a new order which still is not here. Then they send me an email more than a day later asking for pictures of an empty box that was already thrown away since I called them I did not know to keep the box and now they will not refund my money. Oh yea and still waiting on the other half of the original order I paid overnight shipping on and all it says on tracking is deliver to the city and state... no address. What a joke.
When Parts Geek sent the wrong part. I had to pay the postage both ways, then a 15% restocking fee for their mistake. So my net refund on a $37.98 wrong part was about $7, and they get to sell the part again. So it's actually profitable for them to send wrong parts. The one I got came in a scuffed and obviously pre-opened box, so they may have "sold" it several times, collecting 15% each time. When I called customer service, the first operator disconnected me right after I said hello. Then, after waiting on hold again for a long time, the second operator referred to the wrong part on the invoice and blandly insisted that I ordered a part for a car I don't own. This company is, by far, the worst online business I have ever dealt with. Forget the good reviews--if they make a mistake (and from the fine print and their return policies, they must make a lot of mistakes), you will lose most of your money as I did.
If you don't order the exact part you need and take it out of its original packaging, then your stuck with that part and the 30 day satisfaction guarantee is just empty promises. They send me an email saying I would get a return label. Then they spam me with emails wanting mechanic diagnostics and proof the part wasn't bad or the issue and then not honor my return. I will never purchase from them again and you should think really hard before you do. I would have been better off paying a little more from a parts chain store with better return policies. At least I have the peace of mind I can return a part that is not needed.
Placed an order for 4 brake rotors, 2 front struts, and an air filter for a 2008 Subaru Outback from this company. Came to $345.16 with shipping and tax. Then remembered rockauto.com. Checked their prices and could've saved probably close to $100 and gotten the parts in 3 days as opposed to as many as 7 days. Next time I know.
I Placed an Order and when i received package it was extremely damaged, looked used. When i called them back i was treated with total disrespect and told i had no idea what i was talking about. Furthermore when asked, to speak with supervisor he said he was him. And for my refund IF they even plan to give me one i am to pay shipping back which costs almost as much as the total i paid them originally. What kind of business is this to have 8+ stars?! Must be mostly fake reviews because ive had better customer service and quality of products through garage and backyard businesses!
The part provided for my vehicle doesn't fit. It's clearly the wrong part. I entered my vehicle information correctly, and it seems to be a mismatch. Never received an order confirmation. No packing list in the box. No response to email sent to customer service. Just called and was told I'd have to pay for return shipping, saying they can't take responsibility for the part not fitting. Shipping was exorbitant -- nearly $30 for a $12 part. And now they want me to pay return shipping to get my $12 refund? I basically bought a large piece of plastic and a cardboard box for the landfill.
Answer: Because they're unprofessional, unethical, communist fuckin jackasses!
Answer: Parts geek had the rudest and most infuriating customer service I've encountered ever.
Answer: You'll pay plenty for shipping and if they give you the wrong part, you'll pay to ship it back. It's in their terms. You pay shipping both ways, regardless of fault.
Answer: Because they are either crooks, or they have some nut in the warehouse grabbing whatever and sending it to you even if it's wrong wrong wrong!
