Food orders are backed up two weeks in advance, which is understandable. What's not understandable is cancelling the order because a two zipcode town tripped the computer or whatever, and making customers who were already with limited food reserves have to reorder through the two week waiting period again. Not an ounce of human sympathy during a global pandemic. Buerocracy at its finest.
Terrible service. The delivered my groceries to another apartment and my money wasn't refunded. Stay away from ordering online with Martins
Had to fight to get itemized list. Not surprisingly, I was charged for items I did not receive. $22.00 worth of I received items. I have informed them of this but am not getting any response. I have used fresh direct and Instacart with never a problem. Pea pod should be banned from NYC
First the good news, you will receive a portion of your order.
Now the bad news, no accurate list of what you did receive. No itemized bill. No idea if they overcharged, undercharged. Maybe they charged me for the paper towels I never received and sold them to someone else. I pick an item "in stock" 10 minutes before the deadline and don't receive it. The software chooses your alternative selection so you have to open each item and check because their alternate items are not good. You have to either refuse any alternates or pick theirs. Items are packed horribly. I was upset one delivery because half the eggs were crushed. I regretted being upset because the next delivery I received no eggs. There is no one to complain to. You are on hold forever to eventually talk to a surely person who couldn't care less. You would think a service whose sole job is to deliver groceries could do a better job. Go somewhere else. I think that Instacart is great! On Instacart the shopper picked the wrong item, I pressed a button and literally 30 seconds later I was refunded the money.
How hopeless are Peapod currently. Ok i understand that we are in a pandemic but when I place my order it clearly states what is out of stock. On arrival we receive no invoice, no chicken, mince, detergent or toilet paper. Since they do not leave an invoice like they used to, they say to look for it online, and of course it cannot be located online. So it is necessary to call and be on hold for 40 mins to be told the items wer out of stick and that I would be emailed an invoice which naturally they did not. Hopeless
They scheduled time and changed it 3 times in one day. You have to sit and wait all day for them to come. The won't even reschedule
Peapod was unable to bring all the items that I ordered, but they did not give me an itemized list of what they delivered and what they billed me for- nothing on the website and nothnig sent with the order. I sent them an inquiry about the billing, but have received no response.
Items that were delivered were as requested and in good condition.
I used Peapod for 3+ yrs beginning in 2016. I live in the midwest & felt good about giving business to a midwest grocery service even though I had never used this type of service before. Started out pretty well but declined over the yrs. Prices were not competitive, produce almost always near expiration, eggs usually broken, out-of-stock common even though website showed available, wait times for customer service outrageous, no callbacks ever rec'd., website became a horror to use & when reported always the same response-no problems on our end. About the only positive was drivers were consistently pleasant & respectful. Peapod dropped the midwest region with no notice to customers. I placed an order mid-February, order was confirmed & debit charge showed pending as usual. My order never showed up, was rescheduled for following day, never showed up & I never heard another word from Peapod. I found out about discontinuation of service on local news. Peapod senior management should be ashamed on how whole thing was handled. I would never recommend Peapod to anyone in the US.
Just got my second order from Peapod and they really are as great as I first thought. Fruits and veggies are perfect. Could not have chosen better myself. Got every item in my order. Substitutes chosen when necessary are great. So thankful this service is available. Worth waiting for!
So my first order at peapod and my last. I placed my order online and had an authorized hold for $11 more than my total. My delivery was supposed to be on Friday (3 weeks after I placed the order). So I decided to add items to my cart for maybe the next shopping trip but I never hit purchase or update cart. Delivery day came and some of the items I added after I placed my order was delivered. I called them and got a rude representative that said well you should've never added anything to the cart. I ask to speak to a manager but was told a manager was going to call me back. After about 5 weeks of callings and complaining that I had items that was not purchased but just placed in the cart, a manager called back. I made more than 10 attempts to get to a manager. The manager was absolutely no help. He basically said being COVD- 19 there is nothing we can do for you. You either pay for the items or go to collections. No returns. SO WARNING: If you add the items to the cart, you automatically purchase them. This is not stated in any of the agreements. Also the items are nonrefundable even if they are not what you want. You will have a hard time getting customer service. They will try to avoid giving the manager the phone Even if you ask 5 times to speak to one. Some are extremely rude and talk over you. Others just don't want to give the phone to the manager. This is not a place of business to shop at online. Avoid if you can.
We waited 2 hrs for a pickup at the scheduled time and then only got a small part of our order. We never got a receipt!
I used Peapod for my Giant Supermarket shopping a few times an had nothing but bad experiences with them and WILL NOT be using this service again. They always have incomplete orders and don't notify you that the items are not into stock until you arrive to pick up your order. So now I have to go out and look elsewhere for the items. The last draw was when an order was canceled and I was never notified until I show up at the store and the order was placed two weeks in advance. Don't waist you time or money on this worthless service!
Waited twelve days for a delivery but received less than half of what I ordered, even though each item was in stock and I had enabled Substitutions. Unfortunately I needed the missing items to make meals with the few that actually arrived. Also, basic staples like milk, butter and frozen vegetables were not sent. But when I physically went to the store they had plenty of milk, butter and other stuff they omitted! I suspect that the order pickers simply avoid heavy items like Dairy and Frozen. Still, I gave a good tip because I heard some people were entering large tips for preferential treatment and then taking the tip away. You simply cannot count on Peapod; you wind up going to the store to buy everything they decided not to send.
What a waste of time. Order from Peapod not passed to Giant. We wasted hours of time and gas to pick up order. They really need to get their act together. Cannot even access their site. They are un way ovee their heads. Poor systems and management. A
Waited 3 weeks to get delivery and all along it said it had my stuff but day of delivery got less than half i I ordered. Paid a great driver tip too!
Not going to use again unless they can improve. I think it's just better to go in and get. I can't believe that they only had 1 ice cream and not 2. I don't think they take the time to fill the list.
Horrible in every aspect. ZERO notice in a 7 hour delivery window of delivery, groceries were left outside in hot sun possibly for hours. They are supposed to alert & ring door bell / knock, yet they did zero. Ice cream was liquid, and was as warm as the milk. Customer service is horrible, IF you get thru. 1 hour 10 minutes waiting on phone just to get a woman who said, "sorry" in two seconds and later hung up. Did I mention every aspect was HORRIBLE?
6 weeks, 5 orders, 5 reservations, 5 reservations disappeared. Only confirmation of a reservation is the banner on the Peapod order page saying date and time range of delivery... it disappeared over and over. Reschedule, have a reservation which shows on the Peapod order page, then it reverts to "Select a time". By that time there are no more reservation slots which are not "sold out" for the next 2 weeks. SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY MY RESERVATION WAS LOST AND SOMEONE ELSE GOT A MY RESERVED SLOT. On hold waiting for Corporate half hour, they can't do anything but transfer you to Peapod customer service. Peapod customer service hasn't answered a call in weeks... hear a recording, then the phone hangs up. WHY SHOULD I CARE THAT PEAPOD IS WORKING HARD WHEN I CAN'T GET ANY GROCERIES, DESPITE TRYING OVER AND OVER? I wouldn't care if some things are unavailable. I can't get one thing because despite checking out immediately, the reservation keeps disappearing. Peapod: why don't you stop paying attention to coupons, and saying how hard you're working, and fix the reservation system?
Don't waste your time and money!
Didn't receive a good bit of my order no meat, bread or eggs. I tried to put in another order twice and they canceled my date and time.
I send email never answered or call me.
I am very disappointed!
I made a purchase and half of my items were not there. I was suppose to be notified but I was not. Then when I called in inquire I was then told that most of my order was not in stock. Clearly it was when I placed the order. I wished I would have not purchased from them a waste of my time. They just suck
Virus is Peapod's excuse for poor management. They are incapable of setting aside some of the nonperishable items ordered for later delivery! So you may wait two weeks for those items you counted on (and are told the day before delivery are in stock) but good luck if you get half of what you ordered.
Answer: It's a legitimate company. We have gotten deliveries from them when we needed them. BUT ---- and it's a BIG BUT when you are dependent on an order being filled with inventory in question. Are they truly completely out of eggs and onions? Was I charged for them? I'll never know. BECAUSE -- they are 100% unresponsive to problems and concerns. Three emails -- unanswered. One phone call (forewarned about a 36 minute wait-time) disconnected at their end after 77 minutes. I HATE THEM.
Answer: Never got the same day or next day expiration, though, last Thanksgiving I ordered a tray of sweet potatoes and tray of stuffing and received two trays of stuffing. Credit is given pretty quickly.
Answer: Receipts of items sent to the customer are usually emailed to the customer once the order is filled. Also, customer receipts are under the customer orders section of their Website.
