My order was cancelled for not reaching the minimum cost, BEFORE REACHING THE CUT-OFF TIME. I had planned to add to it but no chance to do that. Of course, I also lost my delivery date and time.
StopandShop is only slightly better than PeaPod, but they still suck. They never bring a receipt, unless you ask multiple times, and items are always missing. I've concluded that this is a scam. After I asked multiple times for a receipt, I got a partial refund, but was still missing several key ingredients in my recipe. They bring it in those outlawed plastic bags and who knows how it was handled. I found 10 bags wrapped together, 2 items to a bag. Why not just do a Whole Foods pickup or order from FreshDirect, which is excellent.
Terrible service. Every order is missing something. If it is available on Website then it should be delivered.
Used Peapod at our local Giant for pickup since COVID started, never had more than half of what we ordered.
We had a order started online, 12 hours before pickup the order vanished and never received our groceries but they still charged me $381.00, never received a refund so I disputed it with my bank. Bank refunded my $ but now Peapod put us in collections for over $500.00. Called Peapod customer service and talked to Mose, let's just say, she has to be the nastiest customer service person ever.
She said they did a internal investigation and the groceries were delivered. We NEVER had groceries delivered, we always picked up.
The pickup service is called Giant Direct but is owed by Peapod
Stay away, I would give negative rating if possible
Stop & Shop has taken total control of Peapod and it is a vast improvement.
They have gone above and beyond during this pandemic.
It is a genuine pleasure using this service, especially now.
Peapod does provide decent service and are quick to respond to any complaints. The problem is their systems. A few months back they lost an entire order and I didn't find out about it till the morning it was supposed to be delivered. Even though their tech people assured me that the system problem has been fixed and the order was still scheduled for delivery.
But, the biggest frustration to date is their allegedly new and improved on-line ordering program. I can only compare it to what Ancestry.com did to their system. Three steps backwards. The site is cluttered and confusing. It requires more strokes to navigate. It has a very poor print utility. What used to print in 1 1/2 pages now takes 6 pages of paper and ink.
I make these observations from experience. My job was to train and roll-out new programs for several hundred thousand employees. The best way to sell it was to tell the employees about the improvement and benefits they would be getting at their level. I wouldn't want to try and sell this one, because there are none. This appears to be improvements strictly for Peapod, s advantage
I will give it a chance until it frustrates me to the point of closing the account
They have appeared to have gotten the bugs out of the system, but my last order was short 8 items, suddenly out-of-stock after I placed the order.
I will go back to shopping in the store for awhile.
Their product offerings were always limited but it has become a complete joke. Do not waste your money on this service. Half the things you want or need won't be listed to buy.
This service is horrible! I got notified of out of stock when I could not change anything, the delivery person never texted or emailed as requested and all my stuff was left sitting there! Eggs cracked and spilled out of the bag. To top it all off I was CHARGED FOR ITEMS I NEVER RECEIVED AND CANNOT GET MY MONEY BACK. This delivery service is not worth a dime. Please NEVER use this service.
To whom it may concern,
On 7/13 my mother-in-law was to have received a dozen roses for her 90th Birthday along with the goodies I usually send her through Peapod. She did not get them. On 8/14, I spent hours on hold with multiple phone calls trying to get her the flowers to her on her birthday! IT WAS HER 90TH BIRTHDAY! I was assured that it was "impossible" to deliver them on Friday but that she would get them on Saturday. SHE NEVER GOT THE ROSES! I can't describe how angry and disappointed I am in your company. I am about to write a seething review and post it on every website I can. I have been a long time customer, as originally a CT native, Arizona transplant, I have always used you to take care of my mother in law. You have lost my business. I don't even want the measly 10 dollar discount your employee just gave me off the order. I expect a written apology to be mailed to my mother in law at the address on my account. You only turn 90 once and not only did you guys mess up her gift, you messed up the opportunity to make it right.
They said your call will be answered within 5 minutes. We are now at 28 minutes and holding. And that's not even the original problem.
Today I looked out my door to find 9 bags of produce/groceries and 4 cartons of different types of drinks. Left, rotting in the sun! I had't ordered anything from Stop & Shop or Peapod. They delivered it to the wrong town. I called to tell them and when they called me back, over 6 hours later, I was told they only drop them off they don't pick them back up! What the H**L. The woman who called said she would turn the matter over to her manager... want to bet that it will still be there in the morning and I'll have to pay to have it taken away!?
Way cheaper than Instacart, delivery drivers much more professional, and food packed better (things not crushed and food is grouped by freezer/refrigerater/room temp). Driver also wears mask, which isn't always the case with Instacart. Finally, Peapod keeps food cold, unlike other delivery services. Selection is excellent, plus Peapod now lets you select substitutes if you want to. Really great service delivering a wide range of grocery products.
I tried using PEAPOd for first time ever. Do my order submit it and everything is fine. Then hour before they are to start they cancel order. Customer service is rude and of no help. They state there have been multiple accounts under my name with past due balances. I respond with I am not the o my person with that name. They state they won't help me. So I turn have file a co plaint with attorney general office and better business bureau.
I ordered 27 items. I got 9. They're blaming Coronavirus for all their shortages and bad service. They're out of bread, eggs, milk, Classico Plum tomato and olive sauce for over a month, bacon, and toilet paper, among other things. Call them and you'll wait up to an hour to talk to someone, so you just hang up. They're getting worse instead of better.
Oh my God! Im a 65 year old woman with herniated disc and back problems,
Diabetes and kidney issues. I've been ordering for a while and they used to carry the bags downstairs to my kitchen area. I order big... at least $400. 00. 50 bags! Today, the cold, unfriendly, callous delivery amatron wouldn't even bring the 50 bags inside the house. He left them melting outside! This is not because of Covid because my last order was in April and he brought the bags inside at least. He was also a very cold, mean person and would not respond to me when I tried to be friendly. It took me 3 hours to get the order inside and down the steps and now I feel like I need to go to the hospital. I will take Giant to court and hold them liable if anything happens to me. They're going to have to rework their business model and customer service delivery if they hope to hold on to their customers. Never again!
Since PP's Website is a nightmare to navigate for a tech savvy person like I am, I cant imagine how awful it wd.be for a senior starting out. I haven't used it in 1--2 years but am a bit desperate and had hoped for better results. Three hours later with only $115 in my cart, $15 fees, charges, taxes... I gave up. Lost a full afternoon with nothing to show for it. I needed $12 more for gas points, having been robbed of 200 points forced to STAY HOME for 3+ months, I am on zero in tank. Gas prices have soared again. No gas no food no pet food and I must start all over again bc PP cant manage a website, nor anything close to customer care if you are not considered essential.
You have to wait sometimes 2 weeks for your order. Most times half the order wont show up. But yet the items are in stock. I think the people who shop dont bother for the most part getting everything you ask for. If the items are there why wont you send them to me! Its aggravating! We are in the middle of a pandemic and people need there food. If its in stock make sure to deliver it! Also so many times you get items that are broken and dented. Dont they check as they grab things to make sure they are in good shape?
I have tried Peapod pick up service many times. I have never once gotten the order I asked for. They have very few subsitutions for things they claim are out of stock. But if you walk inside the items are on the shelf. I can't speak for all because I have only use Northport NY location. Not worth my time!
My wife and I are elderly -- and really count on delivery. We appreciate the driver and all of those who do the packing. However -- and it's a HUGE however:
1] We have gotten NO invoices either of the last two deliveries -- electronically or by paper. This is a particular problem when we asked for things and don't know if they were bungled or truly out. Were we charged? How do we know?
2] We recognize that there are shortages, and have been flexible. But two times in a row, there are NO onions? And we really wanted eggs -- and are fine with any eggs (we had flagged okay to substitutions)... were there really NONE?
3] Finally, in some despair and frustration, I called. I was forewarned there would be a 36-minute hold. I decided to gut it out. This is important. Food and money. After 77 minutes of crackly insipid music, the line was disconnected.
4] I have now written to Peapod on three separate occasions. They simply do not answer. They don't pick up their phones. They don't answer emails. EITHER OF THESE COULD EASILY BE DONE FROM HOME.

I ordered groceries for delivery, they never showed up or called. When I called to see what was going on they directed me to accounts receivable, the woman who gave me the name Kat was very rude and unprofessional... she told me there was an outstanding balance of someone who previously lived here and they wouldnt deliver until it was paid. That's outrageous! I then asked for my money to be returned... she rudely told me it was already processed and to wait 3-5 days... its already been 5 days. The man I previously spoke to before her said he saw my order was cancelled but it hasnt been refunded yet. Is this your Peapod promise? Stressing out customers! I will no longer shop in your store and I now understand why you have the low rating you do. Hire better people with customer service skills
I am a 76 y/o retired physician, avoiding groceries shopping for fear of coronavirus. Two days ago I got my groceries, several items missing, no invoices about what I paid for! Calling them is useless, no one answers. Sent them two emails, no responses! In contrast to Costco delivery team, twice have delivered my my stuffs, without anything missing and send me my shopping bills within a few minutes.
Answer: It's a legitimate company. We have gotten deliveries from them when we needed them. BUT ---- and it's a BIG BUT when you are dependent on an order being filled with inventory in question. Are they truly completely out of eggs and onions? Was I charged for them? I'll never know. BECAUSE -- they are 100% unresponsive to problems and concerns. Three emails -- unanswered. One phone call (forewarned about a 36 minute wait-time) disconnected at their end after 77 minutes. I HATE THEM.
Answer: Never got the same day or next day expiration, though, last Thanksgiving I ordered a tray of sweet potatoes and tray of stuffing and received two trays of stuffing. Credit is given pretty quickly.
Answer: Receipts of items sent to the customer are usually emailed to the customer once the order is filled. Also, customer receipts are under the customer orders section of their Website.
