This is very sad because Peapod used to be the best delivery service in my area. Slowly customer support became nonexistent and their policies are suspect and what I mean is that when an item is on sale they do not deliver saying it is out of stock even though it is still on their website as in stock. I think they want to substitute with a cheaper item but I don't allow substitutions. You can never reach them by phone and they do not reply to emails. The drivers are nice thus the two stars UPDATED 2/28/2022 Everything is back to normal and things have changed dramatically for the better so all is well that ends well.
My husband, myself and daughter are sick. We ordered 3 times and we're no shows. They lied on us and used a number I changed personally 4 years ago. They've used the right number in the past. I have never wanted people fired before now! No compensation was offered as well. Shame on them!
I I'm so sick of Giant Food just changing my order to suit them. My latest order delivered today, they updated my order and said I did not order the butter or the milk. The whole reason I placed the order was because the butter was on sale. I'm 63 and not senile. Retired at 59 comfortably. I must have been doing something right. And my milk? Where's the milk? Was there a big run on milk and butter? I know what I ordered, but they removed it on my order status. Why my order was $75.11, to $61? When I called them, they said they do not see those items that I ordered. I know what I ordered. I need to just stop using the giant delivery system and go instacart. This is not the first time giant has done this. I still have my paper check cashing card from 50 years ago. Ridiculous how giant picks and chooses what you're going to order.

There was nothing wrong with the service person that delivered my groceries. He was on time and nice. I'm just sick of giant picking and choosing what I'm going to order. They didn't make my money, so what right do they have to pick and choose how I'm going to spend it
After waiting for 4 days for order to be delivered, they did not deliver my groceries because I did not answer the door.the website says contactless delivery for covid. The fees are higher than any other service out there. Half my groceries were out of stock and I was charged for them anyway. On top of the high delivery fees these people want a tip on top of that. If you don't tip they circle "tip not included " on the receipt in red. I will never use them again since I discovered instacart, which is far superior.
I used Peapod for my Giant Supermarket shopping a few times an had nothing but bad experiences with them and WILL NOT be using this service again. They always have incomplete orders and don't notify you that the items are not into stock until you arrive to pick up your order. So now I have to go out and look elsewhere for the items. The last draw was when an order was canceled and I was never notified until I show up at the store and the order was placed two weeks in advance. Don't waist you time or money on this worthless service!
I've used Peapod since 2007. I've had good service with them until the coronavirus panic. I pay an annual fee toward grocery delivery which is usually a good deal. However, if I can't get a delivery for two weeks it's not such a good deal now. I am not familiar with grocery chain operations so I don't know how difficult it is to stock their warehouse to insure they have sufficient products. However I don't understand why they aren't limiting the quantity of items people buy if that's an issue in order to provide to more. Also, I don't understand why they don't offer more delivery times, expand vehicles and personnel. I got a delivery from Amazon weeks ago - it was small - and they came in a car and the items came out of the trunk. Not everyone is buying massive amounts of products so that could free up their drivers to make more deliveries. It seems they are not thinking out of the box but trying for business as usual and that's just not working well.
The benefit of using Peapod is convenience. Their produce is awful! Every time I have ordered fruit I have received hard, unripened, in eatable fruit! The other issue, if the product is not available, take it off the web site.
Don't waste your time and money!
Didn't receive a good bit of my order no meat, bread or eggs. I tried to put in another order twice and they canceled my date and time.
I send email never answered or call me.
I am very disappointed!
Used Peapod at our local Giant for pickup since COVID started, never had more than half of what we ordered.
We had a order started online, 12 hours before pickup the order vanished and never received our groceries but they still charged me $381.00, never received a refund so I disputed it with my bank. Bank refunded my $ but now Peapod put us in collections for over $500.00. Called Peapod customer service and talked to Mose, let's just say, she has to be the nastiest customer service person ever.
She said they did a internal investigation and the groceries were delivered. We NEVER had groceries delivered, we always picked up.
The pickup service is called Giant Direct but is owed by Peapod
Stay away, I would give negative rating if possible
I have just waited 37mins for Customer Service over a $5 promotion which I did not receive. They refused to give me my promotion so I won't be using them again. It's not the $5 it's the principle of the thing that $5 dollars needed 37 min from Customer Service. I will not be using them again there are too many delivery / pick up sites around to be treated like crap from CS.
Like half the things I ordered were missing. Don't bother with them if you actually want to get what you ordered. It's easier to just go to the store once and actually get what you wanted then to deal with their customer service and BS.
They never have half of what I want, which confuses the bill, I can't tell what they charged me for and what they didn't, never let me know if they don't have something, WEIRD substitutions that make no sense - I ordered fresh basil and they gave and charged me for dried basil -WHO doesn't already have dried basil on hand? They didn't have the ice cream sandwiches I ordered so sent Soy ice cream sandwiches. What? There's more, but since is the third terrible delivery in a row, I give up. Like others have said, if you have a problem there is no way to let them know. Very frustrating.
I made a purchase and half of my items were not there. I was suppose to be notified but I was not. Then when I called in inquire I was then told that most of my order was not in stock. Clearly it was when I placed the order. I wished I would have not purchased from them a waste of my time. They just suck
Virus is Peapod's excuse for poor management. They are incapable of setting aside some of the nonperishable items ordered for later delivery! So you may wait two weeks for those items you counted on (and are told the day before delivery are in stock) but good luck if you get half of what you ordered.
I stopped ordering from peapod for awhile after many issues with bad product, then after about 10 months or so I tried again and I had a coupon for 9 dollars from stop and shop which I could use on peapod. My total sale came to 184 so I used my coupon to take off the 9 but instead when it was delivered 9 was added they claim my weighted items costed more which I find funny the exact amount was added. Plus products were opened and some not fulfilled but SOME HOW my weighted items equal the coupon I used. If u do use them keep tracks of all your items and total from email and delivery they will screw you
What a waste of time. Order from Peapod not passed to Giant. We wasted hours of time and gas to pick up order. They really need to get their act together. Cannot even access their site. They are un way ovee their heads. Poor systems and management. A
I created a login for Peapod and then immediately reserved a time for delivery which was days away due to the coronavirus. I spent a bunch of time picking out the items and then clicked Checkout. On the top of the screen, my scheduled time for delivery was April 20, from 6:30 - 1. After clicking checkout, I again received a "Reserve a time" button and there now were no times. Test your software! Do not allow a user to reserve a time if your software is again going to require it upon checkout. A waste of time!
Driver took a $20 tip, but then just left groceries on porch. Including 4 bags of cat litter. Also wouldn't take plastic bags for recycling. Call customer serve and was told that they don't do in-house deliveries and it was a health department regulation they could not take bags for recycling. Driver was rude and cursive when I tried to explain what I thought was supposed to happen and when a call to Peapod confirmed what he said I thought he would come in his pants he was so happy. Will never, ever, ever, use again.
Never use you guys again after this is over cuz you have a band into your regular customers this is not right. And first of all the people that can't leave the house over 65 should have first priority.
I have tried Peapod pick up service many times. I have never once gotten the order I asked for. They have very few subsitutions for things they claim are out of stock. But if you walk inside the items are on the shelf. I can't speak for all because I have only use Northport NY location. Not worth my time!
My delivery time was changes three times. The last delivery notificaton stated delivery was going to be between 9:50 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. The phone app indicated at 10:10 p.m. that my groceries had been delivered. My groceries were never delivered to me. The charge was on my card.
I am disgusted at the continuous downhill delivery from PEAPOD. I consistently order thinly sliced deli meats and cheeses (which is an option to choose as well) and I'm sent THICK already sliced meats from the to go section section. When you go into the store and request thinly sliced, I receive the label that says thinly sliced, this label doesn't have that and we end up receiving one third less slices of our meats and cheese which end up choke-able for our toddlers in a sandwich. We've now Complained about this three times and it never changes. This week I also received a rotten apple and our zucchinis broken in half.
ShopRite has a much better selection for online delivery or pick-up. You can shop from the Weekly Flyer,(not with PP), get All sales going on,(not with PP), and use coupons with ShopRite. You also have a Personal Shopper, who will call you, BEFORE any substitutions or cancellations are made. I switched 6 months ago, and glad I did. Have not had one incident with ShopRite yet, after experiencing all off everything said below.
I placed an order for well over $200 in groceries during the pandemic. At the time everything I ordered was in stock. When it came time for my order to be delivered 11 days later, I learned that 75% of my order wasn't being delivered because they were out of stock. I understand that this is a difficult time, but how is a major company like this so ill-prepared? I would think they would at least reach out to me for my inconvenience with a small discount on a future order, but no. All of that aside, when my 1/4 order did arrive, it was placed in flimsy plastic bags that weren't made to handle the weight of the products. All in all, it was a very poor performance on a partial order.
Received some expired items from peapod and customer service ignored me, to get a refund I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and my visa gave it back to me. Then peapod emails me about the chargeback and how i need to respond to them to settle up. I reply explaining what happened. They ignore me and a few weeks later send the same email to me. Again I reply and explain. They ignore me and again a week later send the same email to which I reply and they again ignore me. They deactivated my account when they sent the first email insinuating i can't use peapod anymore unless i pay for the expired items they sent me. No thanks. No desire to use them again. Their customer service is trash. Who sends expired food and expects people to not request a refund for it?
This site is limited to only certain areas of the US. They are great for non perishable foods, but I don't know of any grocery delivery store that has exceptional produce.
Zero stars. Worse than useless. They lie about product availability then try to steal from you. Literally. Then their customer service line hangs up without even putting you on hold. Wow.
