Their fees is 10% of sales + more... quite heavy for a middleman service that provides little support. Another thing would be how obsessive they are with your identity; requiring you to send in extensive personal details. Not sure what they're doing with it - which is the scary part! To add on, they would message my paypal email address instead of the registered email I supplied to them to be used as contact. All in all, as legitimate as they sound and say they are, I suggest steer clear.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away unless desperate and fearless about identity theft...

Deal went bad due to sellers end and was told I was getting my money back. They claim I should have it but I don't. I have emailed and used the support center with no responses what so ever. Very disappointing.

I spent 5 days trying to recover my fully VERIFIED account. This was a complete hassle. I will NEVER use PlayerAuctions again. They stole my money as well from 2 paypal transactions and refuse to refund. No fulfillment whatsoever on what I paid for. Stay far away from this garbage site. 5 days wasted. Worst experience ever. Money down the tubes. What a bunch of shady scammers!

Hi Steve,
I assure you, PlayerAuctions does not scam from its members, nor do we steal payments. Our business is built on trust, and the value that we add for buyers and sellers who wish to trade. I am curious as to what happened with your transactions that made you feel this way. Can you please send me a private message with your PlayerAuctions username and the Order IDs?
I look forward to your feedback so that I can work with you to resolve any issues you've had with our site.
Thanks,
Lei

Through the 2 transactions I've had, and as a new user of the website, I could not be more impressed. Customer service is quick to get back to you. Those with verified accounts have proven to be legitimate. Good stuff.

Thank you so much for the kind review, John! We're happy to hear you were able to find really good sellers on your first 2 transactions, and my wish is for that to continue should you choose to use our site again. :)
I registered a few days ago and I cant remember what email I used.
I dont know how that happened but it did.
Please pm me so I can send you my phone number or something other useful to recover my account...
Helped me in under 24 hours. :)

There are many gold sites sure Ive tried buying from them and to be honest all of them are actually legit. I prefer this one though because I noticed the availability of goods here is far superior. It seems sellers post here more so theres always a chance to select from different offers.

Thank you so much for your trust and decision to choose us, Willie; this means a lot.
I've been waiting days over the allotted time frame for a disbursement (sold my wow account). I e-mailed support, got a few responses such as "wait until... X/XX/"). Now that the time has passed and my funds are not in my PayPal from selling, I get no response back.
Tip for consumers:
I highly suggest staying away from PA.

Hello there, Martin,
Good news; This has now been fully resolved and as per checking, the payment was already sent to you more than 24 hours ago. The reason for the delay is due to your PayPal account needing verification. Without that, the payment bounced back to us. One of our agents got your confirmation and released the payment back on queue. We're very sorry for the inconvenience and for the delayed responses. I have sent you a PM about this for more details. Please message again if there's anything we can help you with; we'd be more than happy to oblige.
Kind regards,
Richard
Been using PA for over 6 years now since the site got re-launched. I have had -zero- problems with the platform in that time. Having had bad experiences on other sites, as well as individual trades, I don't think I would ever conduct another gaming exchange outside of PA.

UPDATED one star Review. Been using player auctions for quite some time now and have always been impressed with the flow of the sale that they provide. I ran into an issue where a seller reclaimed my account. The worst part about it was I lost a dispute I had on the sale (even with insurance). Richard took great care of the situation. Not to sound negative, but i noticed that PlayerAuctions off site customer support seems better than on the actual site.
I will always use PA for osrs GP by far the best platform to purchase on. 5 stars
On accounts beware. It was the worst feeling when you lose a dispute and see the exact account for sale

DONT BUY ACCOUNTS ( INSURANCE IS A JOKE AND DOES NOTHING)

Hello Dominic,
I'm very sorry for the issue you had with your order. I'm currently gathering facts from our team and waiting for a report on this. I'll do what I can to have this checked and reviewed; please allow me a bit of time. Once I have any updates about this, I'll be sure to let you know here by contacting you directly in SiteJabber.
Once again, my sincerest apologies, Dominic.
Best regards,
Richard
Ordered some runescape gold Friday night, here I am Tuesday night still trying to get in touch with them to "verify my payment." I have signed maybe 5 documents all asking for the same information that they cant seem to get right. They ask for ID and Card number and bank statements in each document which is kind of dangerous, not to mention the process is time consuming as hell and it has been 4 days. Oh yeah and of course they charged me Friday night for the order.

Normally, it doesn't take that long in processing an order. With the volume of orders everyday, they're reviewing extra documents and making extra phone calls. Please bear in mind that our Compliance team deals with money so they're careful in reviewing orders to avoid fraudulent transactions.
No worries, for card information you are asked to blot out almost all the information that isn't needed to verifiy your payment, which you can see this as an example to the form you filled out same goes with your IDs and other stuff. Also, we can assure you that a small number of people have an access to check your documents and they're just doing this for verification purpose only.
Please provide the Order ID of your concern via private message so we can check its status. Thank you in advance!
I have had several successful orders on this site and when things go as intended the site is great and easy to use. However, for the first time I had an issue where seller did not deliver items and it has been about a week now and have still not gotten any refund and dispute is still pending. Customer service is useless basically copy and pasting scripted responses even when they don't answer the question asked.
According to their site my dispute is still "Pending seller evidence"... if they have no evidence what could possibly be so complicated about finalizing this dispute in my favor?

Great variety of choice when it comes to buying in game gold. But paypal doesn't work! Apparently to do with their risk management. What's worse is that they don't tell you why. If it doesn't work altogether, then why put Paypal as an option.
If you don't have a credit card/bank account then the only other ways are to use bitcoin or skrill which are usually more costly than paypal.
Big disappointment, would have to look for other options

Hello Ryan,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am also sorry that your payment was declined; I'd like to offer an explanation why this is happening.
Our website has an anti-fraud security system that actively checks accounts for inconsistent or inaccurate information. When these are flagged, our system will have to decline payments as protection for users, as paying users need to have accurate information to confirm to risk management policies and standards. Your payment is never taken and in case it was captured by our system, it will be refunded to you automatically. But in case you don't have it yet, please contact support@playerauctions.zendesk.com and include the order ID—kindly state that you'd like to get a refund for this.
In case you have any more questions, you may send it to that same email as well.
Best regards,
Richard
Everything worked like described A++ would buy again. Fast delivery and i need to get those 100 full so i keep typing some nonsense, did i mention playerauctions.com is a great site? Yes? Ok good, it is go there and try it out yourself

The security they proudly advertise is true to what you get. I had problems with a seller trying to ask for payment outside this site. I declined and reported it. The refund took a few days but I got it in full. Next order things went well. Lesson learned not to go for cheaper deals with low rated sellers.

Thank you so much for the kind review and appreciation, Wanda. Many thanks as well for sharing this pro tip. I'm glad to hear that things went well even though the previous seller had other intentions; thanks for your vigilance.
Well this is my first time buying here, seller turned out to be a fraud and scam artist. Took advantage of me, I am a single mom and I provided the site with the proof that what she advertised and what she supposedly sent was was not the same thing and guess what they backed her 100%. So never buy anything from here its bad, as there is zero buyer protection.

Hello, Jolene,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. I checked on the logs and the reason the case was closed in favor of your seller is because I'm afraid our team was unable to receive compelling evidence from you. Please note that even if you bought insurance, in order to validate user claims we would require substantial evidence from users, as noted in the disclaimer here: https://i.imgur.com/xuvAhYo.png
Please write to us at support@playerauctions.zendesk.com in case you have any other questions, Jolene.
Best regards,
Richard
Don't trust PlayerAuctions - they will always favour the seller - even when they sell you stolen accounts with evidence. Their insurance is a scam to make extra money. I have lost on two transactions so far and they always favour the seller no matter what the evidence. They get a fee from your payment and they charge a bigger fee to the seller. Stay away from this site, I have been a member for years and lately they have turned against buyers.

Hello James,
I'm very sorry to see that your OSRS order has turned out like this. I checked on your ticket and I saw your statement that the seller provided a replacement account with an email that starts with a number --- I checked the chatlogs to try finding the conversation but there wasn't any. Chances are you talked outside of the PlayerAuctions messenger.
I have now put a hold on the seller's payment to give you more time to submit evidence. Please note that we found no insurance was purchased for this, and as such we cannot provide you a refund for this, but through the previous mediation process and by holding your seller's payment, we can at least provide support in handling this situation.
If you have any questions, please use the Q&A form here so we can assist you, James. Again, apologies for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
Richard
Buying is usually a pretty easy task on PA. Every once in a while it will take a bit to verify payment or something, no big deal. I recently tried to sell an account and every time I would fill everything out I would get the "an error has occurred" type message. This is a waste of my time and effort, I had to go another route which I really hated because it didn't feel safe.
Date of experience: June 20, 2014
I was a little worried with the way they ask for identification then after that the order paused for about 30 minutes, but after a while the seller wrote he was probably from a different time zone then completed the order. Spent 24 more hours checking my CC and there were no unauthorized charges. I read later from someone on Reddit they actually ask IDs to make sure you made the payment so you can't take it back illegally and it made sense. It's a good site, it's honest just that some of the process aren't clear right away.

Thanks a lot for the trust and for writing us this detailed review, Rafael. Rest assured, we do not make unauthorized charges and that's what the payment verification is for; to ensure only the authorized user may use the payment account on the site. If you have any questions about this, please let us know anytime.
Atrocious customer service. Payment has been withdrawn via Paypal, however transaction still remains at "Verifying Payment" Customer support was contacted on four different occasions in an attempt to resolve the issue. Requested to have the transaction refunded, and the customer support representative went silent, and proceeded to leave the live chat approximately 20 minutes later. Seven hours after playing the order, it still remains unresolved, and refund has been unprocessed. Escalated to a dispute through paypal, if left unresolved, will escalate. HIGHLY advised to avoid this company. I will not be a returning customer.

Step 1: jump thru hoops to buy
Step 2: get verified to buy
Step 3: buy
Step 4: wait for payment verification
Step 5: never get it and cancel
I stared at my phone for 30 mins before placing my order knowing this was a stupid mistake based on the negative reviews lately. Give or take 3 hours later here I am. Should have listened
Go to g2g. 10 mins or less and your taken care of. I actually feel sorry for the sellers here

Hi Stefan,
You probably misunderstood what happened or might have missed our agent's reply:
-----
Thank you for sending your documents.
We have reviewed the documents you attached and noticed that some of it did not meet our requirements. Thus, we need you to send another photo of the following:
1. A clear photo of you or “Selfie” while holding your government-issued identification document, as proof of ownership. Your face must not be blocked and should be clearly identifiable and please make sure that the details on the ID are readable in the photo.
If you have any additional questions, please reply to this email.
-----
This was sent; we needed a revised copy of your selfie. The rest of your documents were actually good to go and we just needed that.
Best regards,
Richard
Great prices but the fact that I have to send an email verification using a CC with my name on it after I have done it 3 times before is just ridiculous. I will go somewhere else from now on. I just want something quick and easy without having to send emails with my ID and CC statements over and over again. I even have the 2 step verification on my account. Other than that it's great.

Hi Nicholas,
I apologize for the repeated instances of verification. It should only be done once per payment/card. If it keeps happening, it's probably due to using Google Pay which assigns a randomized card number for every purchase. Verifying your card directly (and completely, ensuring all requirements are sent) will ensure the verification status stays.
If you need help with the payment process and have questions about this, please let me know and perhaps I can help.
Outside of this, thank you for appreciating the order and I hope you enjoy the purchases, Nicholas.:)
Regards,
Richard
After 1 month since i issued reclamation and contacting with the support ( 1 reply every week) and investigating with me they say "we are unable to determine that the seller is responsible for the loss of access to your account. " very very bad support and non can help me they also ignored my pm in facebook. I dont know really what to do.

Hi Nasser!
I regret to hear that you haven't received any response to your claims yet. I would like to help you with this issue. Can you provide me the order ID and your email address so I can look into this for you?
Please reply through private message for confidentiality of your information.
Looking forward to your response and I hope we can resolve this matter as soon as possible. Thank you!
So far it's taken five hours and forty minutes for them to 1) look at a screenshot with my bank details and 2) look at a picture of my card. They apparently need to do this to make sure i am the cardholder, fair enough, bit outdated but okay. However the communication has been completely terrible from the start, i am apparently in a queue for my documents to be seen by the "compliance" team. I have seen other people wait 24+ hours so i am not optimistic. I can safely say i will never use this company ever again.

Hello Jack,
As per checking, the order is already canceled and I'm sorry you eventually had to do it. We work on a queue and we have to check on payments for first time or returning customers but once this is done, the payment account should be good to go for succeeding orders. If you'd like to skip this step on a possible next attempt, I can recommend using crypto as it skips the verification process.
Best,
Richard
Came here for the legit trades I've been reading and true enough the sellers and deal themselves are trustworthy

Thank you so much for the kind review, Karl. :)
Beware with this site. They ask/require A LOT of information to secure their transactions. A lot of sensitive information is requested by their authentication dept. This is WAY too much. I've done many sites with simple 2 step authentication. But these guys are over the top. In this day and age of identity theft and scams, this could be a night mare if they're ever compromised. I found them not really concerned and overly cautious. Maybe their paranoid speaks for itself and they're under constant scams. Beware.
Tip for consumers:
Beware the information you send them

PlayerAuctions runs a marketplace for buying and selling characters, virtual goods and virtual currency from massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs).
PlayerAuctions was started in 1999 by a group of gamers in the states. It was one of the first player to player marketplaces around, becoming a famous hub for earlier games such as Ultima, Diablo 2, and Everquest. It survived on a small scale for years and grew entirely organically through word of mouth, until PlayerAuctions was acquired by Itemmania in Korea.
Being rebuilt from the ground up with proprietary risk management systems, and investment meant to provide a stronger support network for gamers, PlayerAuctions was re-launched in 2008 with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Korea. Since that time, PlayerAuctions has supported hundreds of games and activities within the wider gaming industry.
At the end of 2013 underwent a structure change to a Product structure which has shifted development focus to an agile development system which resulted in many product expansions in 2014 including Gaming Accessories, CD Key Sales, Cosplay, Trading Cards, and Software Downloads. PlayerAuctions also opened a new support center in Manila 2014 to directly manage and control the quality of services rendered to its users.
Hello, Cody,
I'm sorry for the concern this has caused you. I can definitely confirm that you won the dispute and you are scheduled to receive a refund. Please note that upon notification of a refund, it won't be instant and it will have to be processed in a few banking days. This will be completed in 2-5 business days and you may receive it this coming week.
Once you do, could I ask you to update the review so we'll know?
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Richard
