So many reasons why I dislike POF so much that I'm only going on when bored to send silly, pointless messages. Tried every type of message in the book but no women ever reply. I did however get a few replies but that was when I removed my picture. It makes me feel like I'm a monster. The women on there are so dam hard to get. They hate just simple hi messages, if I send them a longer message saying how nice they look or their clothes are they instantly block me (even one woman on reddit a member admitted she'd do the same thing if I sent her messages like that too) although my post was aimed at men so what the hell do I say? All the women there are mainly single moms that show off their bodies by showing their tattoos all while their kids are with their fathers plus others even showing their children in photo. Some think their dogs, cats or rabbits as they use some mobile phone app to give themselves animal ears and whiskers. Then there's other women who are already taken who put photographs on with their boyfriends. Finally not forgetting those fake scammers linking you onto porn websites.

I was on here messaging a few people having a normal conversation after signing up and now I cannot login again for whatever reason by account got deleted! WOW.

Site is trash garbage.

If you are going to use online dating services I highly HIGHLY recommend you stay away from POF and any dating site that has American women on them. Let me explain how this works, American women get literally hundreds of matches a day on POF, tinder etc. Even unattractive women so they start to think of themselves as literal queens, little g gods that deserve everything they ever ask for. You may get a reply once in a blue moon from one of these women but it will be either one word or rude & sarcastic, Trust me I've been at this for a long time and know what I am talking about! IT'S THE SAME EVERYWHERE. What's the solution? Go find yourself a nice beautiful woman from Russia/Eastern Europe, Not only are they honestly interested in you but they take the term beautiful to a whole new level and don't have a stick up their a**. Trust me take my advice, otherwise you will loose all self confidence in yourself & your looks going on sites like POF

The women can say they want a good man or honest one but unless you look like a male model you'll be ignored.

It doesn't matter that the women on here are all ridiculously below average looking and offer nothing back it's all about what they want. They all think they're princesses and won't settle for anything less than some perfect stunning man yet can't understand why they're single. I laugh when their profile says they enjoy going out but also enjoy staying in. Such insight into their lives

I deliberately messaged a woman just to see, she was 32, overweight, smoked and had a job as a carer which means she's not very intelligent and her longest relationship was 1 year. I said hello how are you AND SHE BLOCKED ME. Seriously a woman no man would want was seriously picky. It just made me laugh that some whale could be so choosy.

I did get 1 message. It was from a 49 year old divorcee who said hi. I asked how she was and she said **** & proceeded to say how she can't find a man who is honest and can't trust anyone anymore. What kind of first impression is that? Moaning and cursing? Terrible standard of woman on here

They're all deluded and not worth the hassle usually photos from 2013 too

Ps how does the review below get through just shilling for another site?

I've been on a few dating sites now eHarmony, Match.com and Guardian Soulmates and gravitated towards POF after seeing frequent recommendations from others online. The site itself is simple and straightforward enough to use. It could do with a few functional improvements but as dating sites go, it does what it says on the tin and in its free option, there are enough vital functions to help you get by. However, the troubling things I've found are the user base quality and, now I've read a few reviews here and joined some dots, some of the site's practices.

I tend to get strange one-line messages from people who are at least 10 years younger than me, even though that's not what I put in my search/match criteria. The people that apparently want to 'Meet Me' are, again, not within my search criteria [there was even somebody 20 years my senior in there]. On top of that, there was one man (with the ability to write more than three words) who messaged me and sounded genuinely interested to meet my acquaintance. After two instances of exchanging polite get-to-know-you messages, 'he' blocked me out of the blue. I considered that discourteous and strange, of course, but it's only after having now read from others here that POF surreptitiously obstructs user communication that it makes sense. It makes me wonder, though, why it bothers doing that.

Either way, my experience so far of POF has been somewhat dodgy but I'll persevere for another few months and see if things improve. If not, I'll flush out my profile and delete my account.

Check the professions for a laugh. Being amazing. Being Me. Being a princess. Stay At Home Mum (since when has that been a profession?)

They stick their tongues out in the photos. Make outlandish demands from men and are basically the dregs nobody else wants

I actually got messaged first by a woman but all she did was talk about herself and asked nothing about me. I sent a message but got told it was too generic. Yes I'm going to spend a hour composing a message you'll ignore anyway

It seems they have either mental issues, are immature, don't like men, are just on the site messing about or seem to think they are some kind of goddess expecting the perfect man to rock up to their pathetic profile and message them.

Don't know if it's the culture of the day or the internet that's caused it but the vast majority of woman on here have a real chip on their shoulders and even when they're average at best they want some tall dark handsome man and won't compromise

Good riddance I'd sooner be single

I really like this app. It's one of the few that lets you see who is online, and it's quite easy to use. I've been using it for years and have met some great people through it.

What a tragic site
The women are unattractive overweight and past their best. Single Mums who act extremely unfeminine and undignified all while acting like they're a princess

I've never seen so many dreadful people in my life on one site

The very few decent profiles all have messaging disabled

All that's left are the illiterate and angry ones who are covered in tattoos and still believe they can meet Prince Charming

If you're a man this site is a total waste of time
