POF is ok for showing you people however they only show you who THEY want to show you. You can't look up people in your area. They won't show you that at least under a free membership and that's what I'm rating is a free membership. The women today and this isn't pof's fault but the women today are only after the very top 5% of men the very rich and very handsome or one or the other if they settle. So as far as finding a date that just doesn't want to use you for the price of a free dinner well then you better be in that top 5% or your won't even get looked at. Also they have a meet me feature that you can use but they won't show you who likes you unless you pay them. But if you match with someone like you like them and they like you they will show you that under matches... but these women generally won't answer you if you write them... guess they like your look but not your finances. They will tell you that someone likes you but they blur their picture... but you can see them enough to see that they won't show you that person that likes you in the meet me feature... which I think is a really shty thing to do.

Canceled pof numerous times. Had to cancel 3 credit cards and they still continue to charge my new credit cards. Their phone number and emails to cancel are bogus.

DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR ACCOUNT WITH POF! They will charge you for the period of time that you chose to update your account and they will automatically charge you again after that, and if you refuse they will delete your account. I paid for three months to see if I was going to have a better chance to find someone. Terrible error! Upgrading my account just allowed me to see who read my messages and when. It is not worth the money! Once the three months period was over, they automatically charged my credit card. I called my bank and asked for a refund because I never authorized the transaction, then next thing I knew I could not access my account on POF anymore. I called POF customer service to hear them to tell me that they deleted my account because I asked for a refund. I told them that if was wrong to do that because I did not have any contract with them to keep upgrading my account. They did not care! They told me to create a new account. POF is after your money! If you do not pay, they will delete your account to punish you. Horrible experience!

This site is full of scammers! Fake profiles, and yes the site itself scams! I get a lot of "someone sent a message emails, go to the site nothing their! I get a lot of someone wants to meet you emails, it's always a fake that tries to get you to sign up for something else that doesn't even have the POF LABEL! One had the POF look to the site I was sent to, but had misspellings! More than likely Ghana! The Ghana scammers are seriously bad! The few profiles you see where the women look attractive, they never answer you! So they're fake. I have even fudged on my profile trying to trick them, no replies! And FYI I have dated models, so I am not ugly! The rest are just skank whore fat $#*! pieces of crap, they couldn't get a date to save their lives. But there are the hookers that try to get you to Go to another site that they claim is from POF that protects them. I think that's called a pimp! If I had a dollar for every minute I've wasted I could go to Russia and find a real bride! I was on match.com before joining POF it also was horrible I should've researched and found that match now owns POF so they're the same bull$#*! site! Forget about customer service I've tried that. You get the same generic email back that has no content as to the complaint I made repeatedly! They simply don't care. Save your money and your time! Dated this man on and off. His name is Roger. He wants to dominate you, yell at you, and sleep with you and he will tell you and show you paperwork that he is clean but it is outdated. The fact of the matter is he has a different girl for each day of the week. He says he only sleeps with you but that is the furthest thing from the truth. He continually accuses you of sleeping with other men and is very a ggressive to the point of being scary. He is 6'2"tall and muscular so to say the least he is very intimidating. He drinks like a fish. Drinks at 5am before going to work even. Simply cannot function without alcohol. I guess they are called functioning Alcoholics. Plenty of Fish is just like every other dating website these days. This website is purposely built to have stunted design, no real features for new members, and a horrible messaging system. All for the purpose of forcing its user base to purchase its subscription services to unlock basic features like messaging people who've liked your profile, or even just being able to look at their profiles.

I almost considered purchasing there services until I saw the ridiculous fees they charge; $79.92 for a 8 month subscription to talk to complete strangers. Any dating website (that is to say, all of them) that hides it features behind paywalls is a scam. It preys on its userbases loneliness and sexual/romantic unfulfillment to trick them into purchasing services that on any other social media app would be free.

Beyond its par for the course business practices, the website runs terribly. I was kicked out of my account, while setting up my profile, twice. And each time, I had to enter in all the information I'd entered previously from scratch. I'd specified I was interested in women looking for long term relationships, but kept getting recommended profiles that said they weren't looking for commitment or who were already in a relationship. Add to that the garish, bear bones layout design, omnipresent advertisements for equally scummy dating sites and apps, and unpleasant bright blue and pink color scheme, and you'll be sick of this place long before you start having those stilted, go nowhere conversations that dominant this market.

I'm struggling to see how this site gets 3.5 stars

Firstly there are a ridiculous number of fake female proflies you can tell easily. They click on meet you or tell you must email them as it's not safe on POF. Why anyone would waste their time with fake profiles is beyond me

The real women are mostly unattractive or/and obese yet call themselves sexy or babe in their username. They seem to think they are alot hotter than they are. I guess behind the laptop they avoid reality and dream they're some hot diva

Also beware the fake headlines "are there any genuine guys left". That's just code for wanting a hot guy but not dare say it

Tons of women from 30-40 looking for a prince it's beyond silly. If you're 38 then you not going to find a hot guy when your past your best are you? Especially when you have a huge list of demands even David Beckham would struggle to match

The developers of this app got bored a long time ago and just left it running for the cash. There are no real people on here, don't waste your money.

The problem is way too many men which means the women even the average ones gets tons of mail and their standards go ridiculously high.
If you are a 5/10 you wouldn't expect to be able to interest a 9/10 it doesn't work like that in real life yet the deluded women on POF think it does

I was on about 3 years ago, signed back up and it wasn't 5 minutes until I saw people online from 2013 with exactly the same photo up! Numerous people with old photos looking for genuine guys!

I'm not buying there are no decent guys my view is that the women think this is like online shopping and the longer they wait the more chance Mr Right will come along

You need to tick about 20 boxes before they'll even consider a reply to you. I. Wouldn't mind if they were nice pleasant and attractive but 99% are aggressive deluded and unattractive. Total waste of time and effort even setting up a profile if you're a man.

I was on the site for a few wekks here are my thoughts

1-The vast majority of the women are aggresive and rude in the profile which makes you not want to message them
2- They complain about how rude men are not replying, manners cost nothing they say then you message them and they ignore you. The irony is lost on them
3-Average looking women saying if i dont reply youre not my type. They're average at best yet have a diva like attitude
4-Lots of them are drama queens and play games just immature. You see longest relationship less than a year and you see why
5-They love road trips. But they live in Wolverhampton not San Fransisco!
6-Friends and family are amazing and mean the world to them
7-Lots of them only want guys with beards who are covered in tattoos

Though its early and only chatted with one so far and she showed little interest I can see its going to be pretty much like Zoosk. Also seen a few ladies from Zoosk on POF hence losers from Zoosk and probably all the rest of the so called free sites which are never really free are planting seeds everywhere but not willing to communicate. Many at least are noble to express they are not paying to check if their messages are being read. Then I find it unique that women post a disclosure statement not to allow POF use their pics for their advertizing. I guess its a way to sue POF if they do. In this social climate everyone is sue happy especially the women. I wonder why people bother at all with dating sites? What happened to the good ol days when you went to a bar for sleezy sex. Everyone complains that POF is short of promoting porn sites do consider they have two parts to their site. One for sex one for so called polite women. Yet, if its all about eventually getting laid do consider being polite is not getting any guy laid. Thats like being politically correct it doesnt get the issues fixed. I have been on POF since late January and here it is now April and I have talked to over 300 men in these few short months... One turned into the relationship but problems in his life at the time ended us but if it had not been for t hy I would still be with him... I am a single woman who joined this website in hopes to find a man friend that might develop into more. All I found was online predators. I met a few men and even casually dated 2 on there, seperately, each for about 6 weeks. They were ONLY after a 'hook up'!... when one I was seeing found out I was serious after all, as I clearly stated in my profile!, he disappeared. The other one showed up unannounced at my door when I told him I could not get together (because I had to work 6 days that week and was exhausted)! I had to tell him to cease all contact with me or I would call the police!
Received countless emails and had countless exchanges with some who once they found out I was not into 'hooking up', they dropped off (even though I clearly stated that in my profile!)
Met one for coffee... looked nothing like his picture at all! My pictures were all taken within 1 month! Met another for coffee who blew me off afterwards because I did not 'hug' or engage his attempt at physical contact (yes... on the first coffee meet!)
I also found a scammer who had 15 profiles! (Deanovino 59/ Denome 59/Deanoc 59... ect and all with the same picture!). I kept blocking him and he would show up in my 'viewed me' section under a different name! I did report him of course, and no response from the site.
AVOID this hook up site if you are genuinely looking for a potential relationship.

If you aren't drop dead handsome with no facial hair and no defects and the same ethnicity as the girls. They just read your messages and don't bother replying to you. And what makes it worse is when they read it and delete it. The site is filled with nothing but picky girls who don't leave you much information on their profiles so you can ask the right questions. And when you do ask them a question about themselves, they ignore you. The girls who use Plenty of Fish rely on the guy to message them, they don't ever message you out of the blue. Everyday I get between 30-50 likes and views but never a message from the girls... Plenty of fish should of be made with the concept that the girl must message you, you can not message them. It made it where girls and guys found love, quicker then the way Plenty of fish has it made right now... There was a site like that a long time ago and it was very successful. If Plenty of Fish made their dating site where the girl must message you to find love, and where inactive accounts with 15days of no activity where deleted, it would cut down on who is using the site from those who don't. And help everyone not waste time sending a message to someone who is not using it anymore. The way the site is set up right now you will be the site for years with a message or reply and as a guy you would find better luck using tinder or eharmony.
