I love Priceline, but lately it's a little slacking. As I noticed when you bid, you got to bid much more than just maybe 2 years ago. Big inflation on the prices. Pro: got some good deal before and easy to use. Con: cannot cancel and won't know the name til purchased if go through Express deals or bidding site. Hotels gotten progressively more expensive.
Thier ticket said free carry on bag...I had to pay 99.00 for a carryon bag...fought with price line for 2 months and many many hours of customer service...these people are liars telling me that a refund is in the mail several times. Do not trust these people!
Booked 2 nights hotel through priceline. Got to hotel in different country and they didnt have our reservation. We spent 3 hours on the phone with them. Every hotel in the area was booked solid. We ended up going home early because we had no where to stay. Absolutely horrible
Looked for a rental car for a 2 week trip to Italy and opted to use Priceline. We have used EuropCar in the past and wish I had this time. Agreed to a price (which was not that special) and picked up the car.
The receipt from Avis was $380 more than the price that Priceline said that we were getting. I initially engaged in a chat/text and they indicated that I would not be charged more than my agreed upon price. Then of course they did not honor that. I just do not see the point in using Priceline as opposed to going direct and having some recourse.
Priceline is a piece of $#*!. The customer service is bull$#*!. They don't respect to customers at all. When I pointed out there was a misunderstanding on their web pages, they just asked me to wait a second a changed the links! I pointed out different things at least four times and they changed them four times! I would never call their customer service again because they are bull$#*!!
I planned a trip to see my God Parents in May who are up in their 80's. I am 61 and my husband is retired, I am the one working. I was able to cancel my flight due to the health situation across the globe. I tried to cancel my hotel reservation which are more that $800.00. They refuse to reimburse me my money, and want me to contact their attorneys to ask my questions. I was told I have no viable reason to get my money reimbursed. This makes Price Line.com thieves. They will steal your money and they have attorneys that write the contracts specific ways so they can keep your money. Please do not use Price Line, they are about as evil as any company can possible get. We will never use them again, this was a costly error on my part. Confirmation # *******
Priceline is terrible! Books a trip with them in April to go to Greece in July! One of my return flights got pushed back and bumped me off the flight. Did priceline call me? NO! I would of been stranded overseas! Did priceline care? NO! Dont book with them. They are terrible.
As long as you are okay with not knowing certain details about your hotel stay, for example only knowing that your hotel will be four stars rather than knowing the precise hotel where you will be staying, then Priceline is a great way to book hotel stays for cheap. It is used for other things as well such as airfare, but I have not used it for that purpose as of yet. Buyer beware: make sure you read the instructions before putting your credit card information! You get a great deal, but make sure you know what you are buying
Rented a car through Priceline to attend a funeral for three days. Returned the car to the original airport after just one day but Priceline refused to refund any difference. This is a rental car not an airline flight! I will never use Priceline or Avis again.
I called to ask about pricing for a hotel. The man on the phone was completely unprofessional and rude. When I asked why the price was different online than on the phone he was belittling and hung up on me. First and only experience with this company. Will not be coming back.
The incident happened in Hebron, IN. The Priceline price was good until they added on a bunch of taxes and fees. I understand making a profit because I was in business for myself! That said, they should have given us the option of going to another place or getting a lower price.
I booked a room for three nights and found after arriving that I could book the same room for the three nights for almost $100 less if I had gone direct. I called the customer service number and asked about the difference thinking that there might have been some mistake. I spoke with Peggy and she said she could not even tell me what they charged and she was getting angry with me. Finally a supervisor told me that though I had booked through them, they couldn't answer my questions and that I would have to call a third party to get answers. Very disappointed and I will never use them or recommend them again.
Priceline claimed to have lost my cancellation and will not honor the contract that specifically says I had up to 2 days before pickup of my rental to get a full refund.
I cancelled with plenty of time and was waiting for my refund, since it had not been refunded I called and even the supervisor claimed he could not get in my account to authorize the refund
We recently booked a vacation package through Priceline.com: Hotel, Airline, and Rental Car. You see the price for the package and you think it is a superb deal well but there are some small hidden fees and other additional charges that are not even exposé though booking. Unluckily, you will find out about the extra charges the hard way after you have already paid/booked the deal.
Absolutely the worst experience with Priceline. Never again booking on Priceline. I would never use Priceline to book another flight. Spoke Alicia at escalation department, not helpful at all. Waste of time talking to them.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Priceline. Terrible service.

I just learned Priceline Uses Hotel.com to book the hotel reservations. I've had horrible experience with them in the past where reservations are made on their website and not transferred to the hotel, so I'm sitting in a lobby expecting to get a room, and the hotel doesn't have the reservation. I spend an hour at midnight trying to get another hotel. Then trying to get my money back from their screw-up is a nightmare as well. The 866 number put me on hold for 30 minutes and then suddenly hangs up on me. I finally just called my credit card company to get my money back!
I used this site to book a hotel, spent over $250 on my total stay. Had a family emergency, and Priceline basically told me to go shove it. I now do NOT get any of that $250 back, nor will I be staying at the hotel.
The representative I chatted with resent a "Booking confirmation page" to my email with a NEW orange text "Non-Refundable" text box that was not there when I checked out originally.
This site is crap, and now I'm facing some financial struggles between not getting my money back and the family emergency.
Rented a rental car through them and when we get to our destination we're told that they are all out of rental cars. LOL. It gets better. We call to get a refund and they want to refund us $70 for 5 days. $13 a day for a rental car!? LOL. We kept asking for a manager we could speak to and they send us to call reps in the Philippines, talk about a joke. Ended up having to do a chargeback with my bank. Don't use this garbage company. There's a reason their reviews are so horrible on multiple review platforms.
I thought I'd save a bit of money with a car rental and booked a Hertz car through them - their "discounted" prices are inaccurate and misleading. I don't think it's simply a currency exchange thing (converting the US booking dollars to Canadian), it seems deliberately misleading and classic bait and switch. I initially was concerned when the required pre-payment was almost as much as the advertised full rate and on pick up the balance of $130 US (touted on Priceline as $167 CDN) was charged at $370. I messaged with the Priceline "agent" about the apparent price discrepancy and he said that there was nothing he could do - I'd have to deal directly with Hertz. I'll be bringing this up at the desk when I return the car - Priceline are crooks and scammers. It's a ripoff. Never again.
Purchased flight and car rental through priceline trip got canceled unable to to cancel car rental 6 days prior to departure "Priceline offered no assistnce. Never more to use "Priceline" in any travel plans -they really are not into customer service just looking for your $$
I had an issue with my booking at Park Inn in Markham. Their scammy system was "down" and they were not able to adjust my check in time or provide me with a refund/cancellation as a result. They told me to take this up with Priceline.com but Priceline.com has terrible customer service as well. It took me weeks to finally get a response from them after following up every other day. They did not provide a refund or resolution at the end of it all. Be careful. Not a trusted website with poor customer resolution.
Tip for consumers:
Book with a reputable site that will actually provide customers with resolutions. You'll have to chase priceline down if you have an issue. They want to keep your money but not provide actual customer service

Ridiculous service. I called customer service to ask for a change to a flight and couldn't get the right schedule so they offered a refund for that leg of the trip and told me to book my return flight again. A few months later, no refund was issued on my credit card, so I called to follow up. There's countless excuses as to why there will not be a refund - the airline declined it (when I paid priceline), Oh. Your flight is non-refundable (yes it is, because the customer service guy even told me how much would be refunded after deducting their 'fees'), etc. etc. Now, I've been on the phone with them for over 5 hours on multiple occasions to 'figure it out'. Always postpone answer, or blame on the airline. PRICELINE. I paid YOU. YOU said you were going to get the refund for me. YOU are responsible!
I travel a lot and have used a number of travel services. Sadly, Priceline is one of the worst. Not only do their pop under ads when searching on Kayak annoy me, but when I've actually booked with them, their customer service is quite lacking.
On two occasions, I've booked hotels with them only to show up and the room wasn't even booked! In both cases, I ended up paying more at the hotel just to get a reservation (thankfully I was actually able to get in at any price!)
On one other occasion, I was charged for a hotel I didn't book because the website would not accept my booking... until a day later after I had booked elsewhere.
Definitely don't recommend Priceline.
Priceline advertised magnuson motel in st petersburg for 94 dollars a night. No matter how to try to book a room it comes up at 130 dollars a night. Sound like a bait and switch or deliberate false advertising. Would never use them.
Every time I use them the aggravation level is unbelievable never again the savings is not there call directly if you go through priceline all you're doing is creating a third party you have nobody to blame but yourself call the hotel called the car rental call the reservation office but do not go through priceline pay extra if you had to the deal they offer never exist
I recently used the "name your price" tool on Priceline flights. When I began my search I entered the dates of 5/1-3/2015. No flights matched my bid so a box popped up with suggestions of how to modify my flight. Above the options for modifications it gave you an option to change your date so I changed my dates to 4/30/15 and 5/4/2015 so that I would be at my destination during the time frame I needed in case my bid landed me a redeye flight. I never checked the "flexible dates" box. I was given a redeye flight for my initial dates, exactly what I was avoiding. After speaking to Priceline management the only solution I am being offered it to pay $200 to cancel my flight. Apparently when you change your dates they do not honor it unless you start the entire search over.
Tip for consumers:
AVOID
We booked two rooms through priceline for our business trip to Chattanooga. When we arrived at the hotel our rooms were completely messed up. We had to stay in a double bedroom which was to say the least very uncomfortable. My husband's back was messed up the next day, so our trip was pretty much ruined.
