Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. DON'T.
July 1, 2023

So it was my husband and my 15th anniversary, and we decided to take a trip. We found Priceline and we're looking through different hotels and we come across the pop up that says we'll give you three options of hotels and if you let us choose one we'll give you a steep discount. So we decided to go ahead and do that and we get to the hotel of their choosing and it is literally ghetto fabulous. It had brown colored pool water, the person of the front desk said that yeah there's a sign that says they have free breakfast but they didn't have that along with no Wi-Fi or cable television so my husband and I got to sit in the dark because the lighting was that terrible, and not watch a movie together or anything of that nature. Along with being terrified because we asked the front desk clerk if it was safe for our car to be out in that parking lot and she looks up at us and laughs. She says you better lock it because anything they see they will take. So I immediately started calling Priceline and saying hey I've got complaints here you know this isn't what was advertised at all and you know now we spent all of this money on this hotel that they picked out for us and we can't just up and leave and go to a different hotel as we don't have the money for that. After about 4 hours of chatting with her in the middle of the night, she tells me that she can't do anything for me and that I would have to call and speak to somebody on their actual phone line. So the next day I go ahead and do that, and after explaining everything to that person, she says what exactly do you want me to do about this. And I said well you know some compensation would be nice seeing as how we had the most horrible anniversary ever because we didn't get any sleep because every little noise we were looking and checking on our car, we couldn't sit in the hot tub together because there was a fear of getting some sort of fungus that we couldn't get rid of, couldn't watch any TV no Wi-Fi no breakfast. That being said, I didn't think it was all that wrong to ask for some sort of a compensation or a refund. The lady says well the only kind of compensation I can give you is I'll give you 15% off of your next booking. And I'm like you got to be kidding me. I was like that is not any sort of a conversation at all because I won't be using your services again. So if I could give it no stars I would have.

I had a flight tickets that I couldn't use because of my serious illness. I contacted Priceline about a month before my scheduled flight and asked its customer service if I could reschedule my flights if I didn't recover by the time of my departure. I was promised by a Priceline customer service representative that I would be able to reschedule my flights 24 hours before departure with a $150 fee without any problems. It happened to be completely incorrect and dishonest! I tried to contact Priceline a week before the departure to reschedule my flights because I needed to stay in Portugal for medical treatment for the next several months. It was very difficult to reach this company by phone. It was very difficult to communicate with this company's customer service because of the busy line, constant call disconnection, and very poor English language of many of the customer representatives! I had to spend more than 10 hours in five days in a row speaking with multiple representatives for nothing to finally be offered by the last representative a very limited time frame for rescheduling flights. This time frame was not good for me. However, I decided to reschedule my flights at a time that was not convenient for me in order not to lose my money completely. When I asked to reschedule my flights for the time allowed by Priceline, I got the price of $8176 for my new flights, which is more than 5 times more expensive than the price of $1537 for these flights available on priceline.com own website at that time! I was very upset and felt completely fooled. I asked for the name and company ID number of this representative, but she gave me only her first name of Avah without her last name or company ID number. I asked to speak with her manager or supervisor, but I was denied this right. I wanted to submit a complaint, but I couldn't do it with this representative either! Furthermore, I think this company has very bad business practices and completely terrible, dishonest and irresponsible customer service with a very bad attitude towards the customers! I can't recommend anyone do business with this company ever!

I paid in full for a card in Buffalo. When I arrived to the airport the company told me they do no have a car for me. I called priceline and they say sorry,we apologize we will return your money. The money back did not solv the problem since there are not cars available at Buffalo airport. PRICELINE ruined my trip to visit Niaagara falls. It is the worse company.

Booked a rental and hotel with Priceline to go to Orlando. The rental car company was horrible I declined their insurance and they charged me $90 to decline their insurance on top of what I already paid. I asked if the shuttle would be running at 430 in the morning I was told yes. That was a lie when I returned the car I was told 10 minutes for the shuttle 25 minutes later I had to take a Lyft to airport to not be any later for flight. The name of the rental car place is Nextcar it should be nightmare. Stayed at Townplace suites Flamingo Crossing which was nice no issues until I check out.I had prepaid for the rental and the hotel. I go to check out and I'm told that I owe for my stay even though I have proof that I paid before I even got there. I was told that Priceline virtual card had been declined and that is the reason for it. After I provided proof I was told they would issue a refund for the amount I was charged. I contacted Priceline and told them what happened they contacted the hotel. Still no refund to my account had to dispute with my credit card. Spoke to a supervisor at Priceline who told me when I advised I should have some type of compensation for these inconvenience that there was nothing she would do and I could use other search engines as that's my right. I used my Priceline app for the majority of my travel plans but I will be deleting and installing Expedia. I have no interest in ever using them again.

I have made a flight reservation with Priceline on April 6th and canceled it on April 7th, 2022. They said they will refund my money. Its now June 2023 and I have been calling them every month inquiring about my refund that never arrived. They always give me the exact same scripted response. "We escalated your case. It has been processed. Please wait 15-20 days for its arrival" More than a year later, still nothing and the same responses every time I call. I've confirmed my information and mailing address and they keep saying its on its way. This is beyond frustrating! I don't know what to do anymore! They took my money are are not giving it back! Straight up thieves that deserve zero stars! Do not use Priceline! I dont wish this on anyone!

We booked hotel in Aruba using Priceline. Weeks later, they send us an email with the link saying click on the link to add rent a car to your hotel stay. We did it using the link provided jn their email. We get to Aruba and they can't find our reservation in Aruba and they say it was reserved in Florida. I call priceline, text message customer service, talk to 5 different people and they hang up on me. Horrible service, the company made a huge mistake and refused to cancel charges

Charged my card, did NOT book the hotel.
June 8, 2023

I set up a reservation for a trip over a month in advance. I checked back with the hotel using the Priceline-provided hotel booking code and they had no reservation for me, no record of it. PriceLine did issue a refund to me but I don't trust them. I would have showed up at the hotel on the correct day with no place to stay. Unforgiveable, so no more business from me.

Bought a trip through priceline, & the day of the trip, my flight was delayed. I called priceline to inform them, & they said they would reach out to the resort I was supposed to stay at. After a lengthy wait, they told me that I was all set to check in a day late, no problem. When I arrived to the resort, I was told that my room had been rented, but they could give me a lesser room until my room was available in 2-3 days, at this point, I had no choice. I later found out that I was charged over $500in "no show" fees which has not been recovered through priceline, Allianz (the so called "trip interruption insurance", or the airline. I will no longer do business with pricelie, or Allianz, since all they do is pass the buck, & take NO RESPONSIBILITY.

IF I COULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 5 star review I would. In the beginning of March I booked a trip to Florida and canceled the hotel within a week which was good enough to get a full refund. As of today (5/31) I still have not received it. This was the 10th contact (13th if you count the 3 times they hung up on me) since this saga has started. All paperwork for proof of transaction and charges was submitted AND approved by them multiple times. Then today they said that they cannot link this transaction type to the property (EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS APPROVED BY THEM). I will no longer use a company and that DOES NOT SUPPORT OR CARE about their customers. It is a travesty that this is going on for so long...

Hotel reservations
May 25, 2023

I booked hotel via Priceline and it's non- refundable policy. I realized that I booked the wrong month and contacted their customer service immediately. I experienced that their customer service is not the position to help me anything. They put me on hold to contact the hotel and told me that the hotel didn't pick up the phone. But every time I called the hotel, the hotel always pick up the phone. I wasted my time to call them. They promised to call me back but it never happened. I disputed my transaction though bank account but Priceline really insisted about non-refundable policy. Then I received an email cancellations from priceline later and mention that they will proceed the refund and I found out a month later that the refund is $0. This is auto email and information is not clear. First of all, the business is make customers confused. Their email is not clear and will be a lot of customers who don't really know much about online booking or information like me will be the victim for the business. Secondly, their customer service is not helpful. And cannot do anything. I really don't know who I should contact to really help me. A lot of people just gave up because Priceline will not refund or help anything.
I would recommend people to stay away from Priceline. If you have any problem, they cannot help you. I lost $425 for the hotel I didn't stay and I worked so hard to get that money for this website. This will be my last booking. I will tell all my friends not to use this website and write down the comments so that people will not have bad experience or lose their money.

Stayed at Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Harrisonville MO. Called the manager after checking in that the room was missing a smoke detector and the air conditioner was not working well. We also mentioned the Ice machine was not working well. The manager Patel came to the room with a bucket of ice pieces and said it was working and that he knew his rooms and ours was fine but said if we didnt like it, we could check out with full refund. When we tried this he got aggressive and disrespectful to us, I believe its because we were women, and told us to get out and off his property. He was even rude and disrespectful to Priceline when they called to get ok for refund for which he refused. I will never use priceline again since they could not help me with this and I will never stay at this hotel again and I would warn anyone to not stay there or use Priceline for anything.

I booked a hotel room. 3 days before check in I had a medical emergency happen. I called the hotel to cancel the room they said " we will be happy to cancel it without any fees or charges but since I booked through priceline I needed to call them so I did. Priceline told me to cancel it would cost me 1 nights room rent and $137.00 penalty. I said the hotel was willing to cancel for free. They said hold on we will call them to verify this. They put me on a 30 second hold and said the hotel did not say that. They never had time to even call them let alone talk to them. So buyer beware priceline is a scam.

Bad hotel
May 18, 2023

I booked a room at Ramada Inn by Wyndham in Sacramento California. I arrived at 10 pm. There were sketchy people hanging around the entrance and lobby. The clerk was behind a cage. The room was down two long dim hallways and it smelled of stale cigarettes, was dim and dingy and needed to be remodeled. I left. I had to fight for a refund from Priceline who claimed my problem was with the hotel, not them, even though my credit card was charged prior to the check in.
After much shaming and threatening, my credit card was credited, but first they charged my card a second time " by error".

I give zero stars. This company is of NO help or assistance. I booked a flight then found out I have a health issue that will not allow me to fly. I did not even need a refund. I just asked to change the ticket to my son's name so the ticket can be used and no refund needed. This was requested to ensure that my son's seat will be with my husband's. Nobody with this company speaks English well enough to communicate with people who live in America and speak English. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I have spoken to United Airlines and been told that one Priceline purchases the discounted tickets, they immediately change the policy on refunds and name changes. Do NOT use Priceline.

Why would anyone use this service if they can't even assist you to answer a question as a new customer without first having booked a non-refundable rental? What if I don't want it after the question is answered?
I don't understand this logic but I'm very sorry I wasted an hour of my life when I could have just booked it on Orbitz.

BEWARE of making "typo" errors when booking through Priceline
I reserved a hotel on Priceline, however, I made a "typo" error and reserved a hotel for a wrong date. I rebooked the (same) hotel on Priceline for the correct date and stayed the night. The hotel NOR Priceline would not cancel the the date I made in error. I realize the hotel through Priceline has a no cancellation policy, however I found out the hardway, that "typo" errors on Priceline will cost you. Up to now, I have been a very frequent user of Priceline and am a VIP status member. As of now, I am removing the Priceline application from my phone and am switching to another booking agency. PLEASE BEWARE... if you make "typo" errors when booking through Priceline. IT WILL COST YOU!
