I bid on a couple of used mini excavators where both items had reached live bidding and had reached fair market values for the machines, and yet all of a sudden during this the items both got "PASSED" by the auctioneer. No sale was made. Both machines received decent bids very close to their fair market values. This means both these items had undeclared Reserve prices set for them which were not met. No indication of what these Reserves were is supplied anywhere at Proxibid. Proxibid has a policy that any item can have a reserve price and they do not have to disclose it. So if this is true, then why should you bid on anything any time if you have no idea what the reserve is? Why waste your time bidding on deliberately overpriced stuff? The seller will set some high reserve that you do not know and if the live auction does not meet their fancy then BOOM the sale goes to PASSED. Quality auctions like Ebay do not allow this practice for obvious reasons, because it is unethical. Proxibid is a rigged auction that favors sellers. I am not even going to get into the "shill" bidding the do, read some of the other complaints listed here for that.

Found the vehicle I wanted, Bid and won. Had questions about the paperwork and title. Never received a call back after two attempts. Did receive my title. Spoke to no one, you should reply to calls.

It was really good to know that staff at Proxibid takes very good care of its customers, including instances related to cyber security.
Keep up the good work, and thank you)

Scam Site - Beware
May 29, 2020

They allow sellers to bid on their own items to help jack up the prices. That should have been made very clear, not just in the fine print. Totally disappointed. I should have known better:-(

One of the worst auction websites I've used. I recently tried winning I NFL theater chair that was on proxibid. There was a total of 12 chairs over three different days of auctions. All three auctions were 7-day auctions with the same date for pickup from the same location. I bid on three of the chairs and were outbid right away. I moved on to a different ending day auction bid on one of the chairs and was the high bidder. This all took place on day 3 of the 7 day auction. I ended up winning the chair I was the high bidder on. Then the next day I was informed at the same time that the auction ended that the high bidder of the other three chairs I bid on was able to retract all their bids right before the auction ended and that now even though I wasn't the high bidder when I bid on the items that they now belonged to me. Because of this I was charged an extra $1,100 for three items that I don't want and don't have the means to pick up. I spent the next 3 hours on the phone with proxibid and the auction company and proxibid, with both directing me to the other. Proxibid basically told me not their problem. This prompted me to make proxibid delete my account with them. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM FOR ANYTHING AGAIN.

I was the unfortunate buyer of a worn out road grader from this company. I was told it was ready to work and everything on it worked fine, no discrepancies were noted, NONE!. In good faith I bought this heap of scrap metal. No brakes, hydraulic leaks all over, exhaust leaks bad, transmission don't engage, just a worn out piece of metal... Buyer beware of this company, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN ON-LINE PURCHASER!

I was bidding on a car online and though I won the car. Few hours later I receive an invoice and it is a truck! I did not bid on a truck! Proxibid refused to help with the auction. And the auction house was threating to sue me if I didn't pay. The auction house and proxibid scammed me out of thousands of dollars plus the trucks odometer was set back which was not listed on the description and did not match the title. PLEASE! STAY AWAY FROM PROXIBID! If you buy a vehicle, go in person. Do not buy through online auction.

Proxibid doesn't tell the consumer that they do not protect their buyers. They state they have a customer service and dispute resolutions center; but they do not exist. The customer service center simply takes your complaint and gives it a file number. That's it. If you escalate it to the dispute resolutions center, they do nothing, until you call them back weeks later to get the status of your complaint, and you find that while you're on hold with customer service because they were too busy to take your call, you receive a follow-up email from them stating that they are "really trying" to help you. Proxibid has no customer service support or dispute resolution centers; it is nothing more than a smokescreen to prevent any possible litigation against them. It's what you call "a good faith" effort. They will protect their auction houses, no matter how bad the reputation or how bad the quality of the items they sell in a misrepresented format via picture or in writing, so that they get their money. Claudia in customer service, Christina in dispute resolutions and Jason Miller, Manager do nothing but keep their buying customers in the smokescreen until it's too late to file a dispute with your credit card. Buyer beware.

I recently bid in a couple of auctions with proxibid. One of the auctios was fine, quick delivery, item was as desvribed. The second auction wasn't. I paid for the item and after 3 weeks it hadn't arrived. I called proxibid and the representative said to wait a couple of days and they would try to intervene. I called proxibid back a fes days later and cancelled the order (so I thought). Two days later the item arrived, I called proxibid to say that a 4 week delivery was unacceptable and I wanted to return the unopened package. I was informed the order wasn't cancelled and I had to work with the seller directly, amd proxibid had no authority to intervene on the buyers behalf. Not a reasonable policy, you may have good results, but you are at the mercy of the individual auction houses.

Dishonest Company!
September 1, 2020

PROXIBID WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! Not sure if they did on purpose or had someone that did not know what they were doing. Was bidding up the item by $5,000 increments. Do not put in a high bid, PROXIBID will max out your bid with no reason to do so, other than STEAL money from you!

Easy way to shop at an auction, knowing what bids you got and then going at your convenient time to pick up your items rather than having to spend all day just for the one or two items you wanted.

I bought a tractor through Proxibid and Rebel auctions. When the tractor was delivered it had a broken glass door, the reverse gears were out of it and the PTO doesn't work. Nothing was mentioned in the description of the tractor. I contacted Rebel auctions of Hazelhurst Georgia and Proxibid neither were willing to work with me on a resolution. Proxibid gives bidders a false sense of security. On their site they state they have a professional care team that will help you meditate issues with a seller. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. They will only tell you that you excepted the terms and conditions. Rebel auctions has an F rating from the BBB and yet Proxibid does nothing to warn bidders of bad sellers. I hope this helps someone so they don't get scammed like I did.

Proxibid would be well served to provide more features to its search engine and summary page so users could add notes and rearrange dates for more convenient use.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE Proxibid. I bought my daughters first cars on your site. I have spent literally thousands and thousands of dollars and have bought stuff that I would not have had an opportunity to buy otherwise. If you do your research on the items you are interested in, you will not be disappointed. The only thing that gets to me is the BUYERS PREMIUM. It continues to sky rocket. I was on one auction site and the BUYERS Premium was 26%. UHG! Over All my experience has been WONDERFUL!

I purchased a van from an auction in montana through proxibid, l almost two months ago the auction had sent the Title by regular mai to this date I have not received title for the truck, I called the auction they told me they will have the original owner apply for new title that was a month ago, last week I called proxibid first they did not want to take responsibility and tried to blame the auction. Finally they opened a case contacted the auction and they told me the auction is trying their best to get me the title, I just have to wait. I called the DMV in Montana and they told me as of today they have not applied for duplicate title. My attorney now is involved. PROXIBID IS FRAUD even one star is high for these people

Due diligence is on you!
The description can be wrong (not there problem)
The picture can be wrong (not there problem) no joke
I bought a roll of pennies it was supposed to be a 40year old bank roll with the face of Lincoln facing out year 1959 on one end.
What I got was the tails side out on both ends and 1959 written on the roll
I sent 2 pictures (both ends) and the picture that there web site provided of what I was supposed to receive they said that I had to have a independent auditor evaluate
The roll of pennies... Ya I got ripped off plus I had to have the bank do a search of when they cashed my cashiers check they claimed they never got it on july 15th I sent them the bank statement proving they cashed my check on june 19th they put me in collection 2 days after they cashed my check.
Will have the complete story of these penny pinchers on facebook and youtube in a day or 2

Proxibid is good until you get scammed. Be warned, they ALWAYS side with the seller, and are NO help whatsoever if you find yourself in a bad place. Make no mistake, even if an item is misrepresented, which was the situation in my case... (I bought a card listed as first edition but it wasn't) they will do nothing to help you. I got my item authenticated by a professional (as part of their filling a case requirement) and all Proxibid did was contact the seller on my behalf... What a joke. That is them "trying" to help you. Their help only involves contacting the company, which you can do yourself. If they buyer doesn't want to work with you (which they almost never will), well thats the end of your case... sucks for you. I wish I would have known this before I started bidding. Don't get fooled into thinking they are the most "Trusted site for connecting buyers and sellers for high valued items" as they claim. You will get the short end of the straw with these guys. Unless of course you're a seller. If you're a seller looking to scam people, look no further! Proxibid is your safe haven, you don't have to worry about false titles, listing descriptions, or photos. None of it will mater, sellers always win here.

I've attached a photo of what i bough as "1st edition" and what a "First edition" case actualy looks like. I sent these same photos along with a authenticated note from a professional and still nothing. Pathetic

I bought an item through Proxid and got cheated. I purchased a supposedly "14K gold" pendant and found out it was plastic. I complained to Proxibid and they said tough luck.

I ended up returning the item to the seller(auctioneer) and then received threatening emails from Proxibid's Tom Clark stating he would "ruin my credit" even though I had already returned the item by certified mail. Mr. Clark turned this over to a collection agency to make good on his word and attempt to ruin my credit. The problem is with Proxibid is that buyers cannot rate the sellers as they can with Ebay.

The sellers can cheat buyers over repeatedly and new buyers would never know about it because of the lack of a rating system. However I found out that the sellers can rate the buyers and they can blackball buyers from buying anything at all on Proxibid. How unfair!

Found out the hard way that Proxibid always stands behind the sellers(auctioneers), no matter if they rip you off and even serve as a collection agency for corrupt sellers. They are being paid by the sellers not the buyers so they will screw the buyers for this reason. My advice would be to stick with Ebay where sellers are rated and that way if you get cheated, Ebay or Paypal steps in to help get your money back.
