All of the reviews are from other authors some wo are overly critical hurting the purpose. Overall the service gets your book reviews but not one sale has come from it. I will keep going and see what happens.
It is really my source for getting quality reviews on Amazon. Once I post my book up for review, it usually takes fifteen minutes for someone to pickup the book, and for a Verified Purchase, it may take a couple of hours. Once in a while, a Verified Purchase Review shows up as a regular review but I get my snaps refunded. Very easy to work with.
I am a public speaker and author, and I recently published a new book this past spring. Upon release, I joined Pubby to help launch my new book off the ground. The site is a useful service for authors to post their book within the platform and generate reviews. In order to receive reviews, you must write them for different authors on the site as well. The site is very user friendly, and once you get going, you gain readers and reviews very quickly. Oftentimes, it can feel like the Amazon algorithm can work against smaller authors, so it's nice that tools like this exist so we can stand a chance. Pubby does a great job facilitating collaboration amongst authors so we all have an equal opportunity to gain exposure and get thoughtful reviews. I would definitely recommend it to any other looking for strategic ways to market their book.
I have had very good experiences. I am a new author and this has been extremely useful. It is organized and easy to find books to review. I am enjoying reviewing other books. I have read some amazing books and just love that part of it. Yes it is a bit of work to figure out some things. It is not perfect. Nothing is! Customer service is very good. Chat/message feature is answered usually within 4 hours.
Pubby has helped me get more reviews for my book, and many of the reviews are quality reviews. They're honest, which means they're not all 5 stars or anything, which is realistic and what any serious author wants. I've actually received some very valuable feedback in Pubby reviews, and it's helped increase my exposure.
I've only been using Pubby for a couple months, but so far I have had a good experience. I wish more authors were involved with this site because sometimes I can't find the type of book I want to read, but one will normally come up in a few days. I know that some of the customers on pubby do not actually read the books they are reviewing in order to get their snaps, but most of my requests have been read and reviewed based on what was written and posted on Amazon.
I have had a few incidents where I get a warning that my review was not published on Amazon, when it was, but a quick email to their customer service fixed it. The one thing that I hope they change is the time frame they give you to read and review a book. I think the best is about 2 weeks time instead of 4 days. I think that would help with the fly by reviews since it will give people actual time to read the full book.
I am quite satisfied with the review service Pubby. Although I went in with some trepidation I found that it's a reputable service with adequate customer support. Every time there was a discrepancy concerning "snaps" as in how many were dealt out and how many were supposed to be dealt out the disagreement was always fairly and quickly resolved. Being a writer like most writers I am beholden to getting my books reviewed and Pubby was instrumental in facilitating those reviews.
Things started out fairly fine... even though I was billed the $240 before I agreed to it... I objected to Pubby's acceptance of one line, no justification reviews that were condemnatory. If a reviewer is reading subject matter they don't like, then that is no reason to give the book a one or two rating. The reviewers know what they are going to read. I'm thinking they read maybe one chapter and condemn the book but they've gotten their snaps, for basically doing nothing. Have had assignments taken from me without notice. Have submitted reviews, accepted by Amazon, and still no "snaps" credit. Really poor customer service.
Oh, so many good intentions. Unfortunately you can't pave your way to a good rating on Amazon with them! Without Pubby, I've read the grim statistics and experienced them for myself: out of 100 people who swear up and down that they will, they will, they REALLY REALLY WILL review your book... maybe two of them do.
Who's got the time to track them all and make sure they follow through? If you value your time and would prefer to spend it writing, researching or doing other kinds of marketing then Pubby is well worth the price. Its users know what they're there to do, and they do it— either you Pubby or you herd cats. Nuff said.
This site is exactly what helped my book achieve the exposure and positive reviews it needed to be a success. If you can write a decent book, this site is all you need to take it as far as you want to go with it and top any Amazon genre top ten. This is the real deal, which I say from personal experience with my own book.
I signed up, but in the end this review service wasn't quite what I really wanted. No problem. I told them so, and they refunded my money with no hassles. It can't get any easier than that. A well-designed site, easily navigable, lots of fun and supportive people. Give it a try.
I've been on Pubby for over 10 months and have found their system to be a fair and fast way to get genuine reviews on Amazon. The site is super easy to use, the customer service is good, and nearly all of the reviews I received so far were honest and detailed.
I recently released a book and my publisher said Amazon reviews are important. Pubby has been a great place to find people who will read and review books. The platform works on "Snaps" - which you gain from reading and reviewing other peoples' books. Then you can use the snaps to request a review for your book. Readers can select which books they want to review (based on interest/category) and have a time frame they need to submit their review. This has been a great resource for me to build up honest reviews on Amazon. I also have found some good books to read that I wouldn't normally know about.
Absolutely horrible. They did not deliver on ANYTHING they promised. The members did not read my book before posting reviews, so the reviews were off sounding and weird. It was easy to tell that the person was guessing his or her way through the review. One Pubby member even made up scenes that were not even IN my book and then miraculously... these made up scenes popped up in future reviews. So a whole lot of copying. Amazon deleted most of them except for a few poor quality ones! I also paid extra for verified purchasers but most did not buy the book because you can see that on Amazon. In addition... l paid extra for "recommended readers", meaning readers who like my genre (historical romance). Instead l got college age boys. I finally cancelled and they will not refund me. Avoid this company like the plague.
I have found Pubby to be a wonderful way to read a wide array of books being published and to receive reviews of my book. People can certainly not take the task seriously and make half-hearted efforts in their reviews, as they do in every realm of life, but I've found, almost universally, that people on Pubby take the task of reviewing seriously and provide sincere and very helpful critiques of books. For me, writing these reviews has been a great way to think about books and hone my skills at appraising them. It has become very clear to me that all the people who have submitted their work for review at Pubby have given their hearts to their projects and this feeling also emanates from their reviews as well.
I had tried all possible methods to get reviews on my books on Amazon and pubby.co is my TOP1 recommended method. You can get even verified reviews! This site is the best option if you need consistent reviews without investing a lot of time or money.
I took a bit of a risk with Pubby, but it was totally worth it. I self-published three books via Amazon kdp in 2021. I had trouble getting reviews, and Pubby solved the problem. I read books on Pubby and review them on Amazon, receive snaps (like points) from Pubby for each book I review, and then use my snaps to get my books reviewed. I did the free trial and liked it so much that I bought the year membership, and am quite happy. One of my books has 28 reviews (26 were from Pubby authors), another has 17 and the other has 23. Some reviews are more detailed than others, so the quality of the reviews vary; however, that's true even when you don't use Pubby. I found that the majority of Pubby authors are honest and sincere and deliver quality reviews. Pubby customer service has been responsive to my inquiries and helpful. Try it for free and see if you like it.
Not only does Pubby give you a chance to get your book into the hands of people who may otherwise not read your book, but it gives you a chance to have other authors read your work and critique it. It creates a chance for you to improve your craft, while also feeling good about helping others. Yes, you too will get a chance to read some great books and help other authors to do the same thing, by growing their craft through critiques. Awesome platform! I love it!
Pubby is desperately needed resource for getting fast, thoughtful reviews. It is a dependable service that I've turned to for each of my books. I can highly recommend Pubby to any author or publisher. It is indispensable!
Honestly don't understand the rave reviews here. Signed up and got a review in the first day. But when I saw the review it looked like the reader hardly even read the book. Don't mind if reader doesn't like the book, but taking my money and doing such a superficial job is DISHONEST. That was only review I got in 3 months from pubby. They were prompt and cordial though when I asked to drop the service. Their site is very polished but the service itself is complete crap. Glad I can try to warn others to STAY AWAY.
Answer: Very hard to get a response. Terrible customer service
Answer: That is your subscription price. Did you reach out to support to ask why you have not received any reviews? Support has been awesome.
Answer: You can charge a small fee. You will get more reviews if you offer a free read via pdf, epub or via kindle unlimited.
Answer: Pubby is an actual company but scammy in their practice and I wouldn't be surprised if it is a cover for a scam. The service is horrible and prevents you from moving forward, keeping you locked into the service. I canceled during my trial because of the crappy service. They take longer than four hours to "approve" your book. They hold you up from getting reviews, deactivating the button that lets you request reviews, even after you have reviewed books. They claim not to know if you have written reviews and ask you to contact support to reactivate the button on your account, but there is no real customer support. So, essentially, they deactivate your account so you cannot get reviews while they take your money and get reviews from you. I say don't bother.
Pubby has a rating of 2.6 stars from 123 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Pubby ranks 175th among Product Reviews sites.
