“Can't say enough good things!”

If you knit or crochet then you need this site for patterns, yarn reviews, friendship with other fiber artists and education in your craft. This is run by a small but amazing staff who are extremely responsive to all of your needs. And it's free!

“Not impressed”

Hazel S.

I have only purchased one pattern through ravelry, the money was taken but I have not received the pattern. I've messaged ravelry and the designer directly through their own website and have had no response from either! Very disappointing as the pattern was lovely!

I have used this site to locate some patterns.
HOWEVER, Ravelry has labeled members/supporters of President Trump as White Supremacists and have placed most, if not all on some sort of ban. They have even banned members who showed no support of the POTUS. They banned users from publishing patterns that were pro life, and members who used word God. They have banned all support for Trump on their site, while allowing foul works of "art" of "F**k Trump".

In my opinion those affiliated with the site, have become supremacists themselves.

They have completely gone off the deep end and seem to have taken up the business of daycare for the ignorant and hateful. So much for tolerance and inclusion. Bigots and hypocrites.

This website is amazing. It has changed my life forever. If you are a knitter or crocheter and you haven't tried it yet, I cannot recommend it enough. It is an amazing database of yarns, patterns and projects. I use it to keep track of my yarn, my queue of patterns I'd like to knit. You can enter all the knitting books and magazines you own and then search within your own library from the comfort of your computer. For someone with a lot of yarn and a lot of knitting magazines this is extremely useful. It's free, the people who run it are lovely and the forums are really helpful too.

What are you waiting for? Go try it out.

I was told I was no longer welcome because I am politically conservative. I voted for President Trump and was ridiculed numerous time because if it, including having my children threatened. The heads of Ravelry did NOTHING. Instead I was not welcome on their site. I had been a member for 5 years.

I've been a member of Ravelry since their first year and they have consistently improved over that time. The forum platform is the best hands down it will spoil you for any other forum. The heart of the website, the project and supply database is likewise fantastic. It's user friendly and clean to look at. There isn't anything lacking honestly. If you are a fiber artist/crafter of any type or level you are seriously missing out if you aren't a member of Rav.

Wow. I ignored the p*ssy hats and a lot of the profane, rude knit and crochet ware out there. It's interesting that the same people that knitted up and wore those same hats don't know how to do the same. Disappointed that a useful website is now a "safe space" for crybabies who don't know how to just scroll past something they don't agree with. Will be deleting my account and taking my money elsewhere.

Tip for consumers:
Don't bother if you aren't obsessed with "safe spaces" like everyone else on this site.

Freedom of speech, civil discourse, respect for your fellow man... these are the things that disappeared the day you took a stand (or is that statement too ablest) again Trump Supporters.
Keep politics out of crafting and enjoy the beauty of the art and the heart of the crafter.

Ravelry has said that those that support of our President are white supremacists. They think that white supremacy means all white people that do not agree with their political view and are not working to dismantle our society are supremacists. They are anti-American, anti-Christian and anti-Trump. They ban image country and flag related and are vile leftist extremists that have now alienated half of their customers.

Verified purchase

Bought a pattern I found in Ravelry "Grand Lace Tablecloth " via Etsy, where the Dutch version is sold. Found out pattern is available for free and free tutorials are available in YouTube. Looks like Ravelry does not accept such comments and Shaz from Handmade by Shaz, Guildova Designs and who knows how many more characters this lady has took over a copyright for a pattern still free available. No more purchases from my side.

Tip for consumers:
Mind what you purchase

Ravelry is supposed to be a site about crafting. They should have stuck to that platform. Instead they took a 'stand', against our President, his administration, and his supporters. They say this did this to be 'all inclusive', but they lied. All inclusive for them means all inclusive, as long as you agree with them. If you don't, you get banned.

Oh, you can still get access to the patterns you purchased, and if you posted patterns that don't support Trump, or the US, others can still purchase your patterns. Which means Ravelry can still make money off of you, while they have stolen your voice.

Last time I checked, I lived in a Democratic Repubic, not a Tyrannical dictatorship. Don't waste your time on these people, and more importantly, don't waste your money on them. They don't deserve your business.

If you thought this was a knitting or crochet site, perhaps even a place for those who spin their own wool- think again. It's a place for those who use the fiber arts to spin controversy and divisiveness. Only those who buy into the current groupthink are allowed a voice. Those guilty of wrongthink are cast out, and disappeared. It's the best of George Orwell, plus knitting needles.

Many patterns... many redirects to get the patterns. We decided to remove our patterns from the Ravelry database because of the bounty of hatred on the site. Of course white supremacy is 100% wrong but to give this label to half of our country because they support our elected administration is just as wrong. We would have stayed with Ravelry if they could have removed only the hate and not just any disagreement with their views... or if they removed all political items and not just those that differed from their views. The site had great potential but we would rather give up that portion of income than remain a part of that.

I enjoyed the Ralvery site until I got bullied. I posted a finished knit scarf that I had posted the pattern for previously. So I made the same scarf in a different colour and posted a picture to get some feed back.
There are some wonderful people there but I got remarks like, pattern please? Over and over and so on.
Never again. I've never seen anything like this..

All I really use this for is my free patterns! I've gotten some GREAT patterns from this site that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. I never had any issues w/it. Tho I see some items and they don't have the pattern that goes to it. But there are SOOOO MANY FREE patterns on this site, I continue to go on it for that. You can do a simple search for something too... ie. Put in "scrap yarn," and then All of these patterns that have those words in it show up. For me, this site works for Just that!

Ravelry is run by ultra white liberal elites. They accuse everyone of being racist white supremacists. Its very funny because the Ravelry board is very non diverse and non inclusive! They recently banned support for Trump on the website and claimed support for Trump is support for white supremacy. Newsflash... all Trump supporters are not white...

What started out as a great place to exchange ideas and designs and find some great yarn providers for knitting and crocheting as well as wonderful designs, swiftly sunk into an anti-Trump hate site. What happened to needle arts being calming? They devolved and soon allowed any ant-Trump comments and designs but chased away anyone with a difference of opinion by calling them as a group "white supremacists"! Yes, even black knitters who were pro-Trump became white supremacists. It was the craziest thing we'd ever seen, to devolve from an anyone-is-welcome-if-you-live-fiber-arts forum into a distasteful-and-hate-filled forum against our POTUS! Yikes! And knitting used to be almost zen-like... until Ravelry went off the deep end. They'd have been better off to tell everyone to leave politics out, but they took up the cause of hate, and fiber arts became secondary. Just awful.

I'm an almost-charter member and even after 12 years still use it almost daily. Sadly, a group of white supremacists has taken umbrage to the ban against hate speechnot specific people, just the expression of racism, hatred, and biasand are now flooding sites like this with fake reviews meant to hurt and damage the site and its creators. See themfor what they are: bitter, hateful, bigoted liars.

Has been site that's been taken over by the SJW. I am someone who is proud to be white and American and I support President Donald Trump Just like people from other places are proud to be who they are. Too bad I can't discuss my view point or hear others now.

Great platform for fiber arts resources and a great community for networking and discussing shared interests. The hateful, radical right-wing trolls have either been kicked off or become so butthurt that they've taken their toys (and crappy patterns) and left. They're still hellbent on trying to slag Ravelry and Rav supporters. So remember to take their negative reviews with a hefty grain of salt... you knowlike the salt from their never ending tears.

Not only has Rav created the best fiber arts site in the world, I would aegue that their forums are the best anywhere. In addition to the great features and ease of use, Rav has made it clear that they respect the basic humanity of their users and will accept nothing less on their site.

What is charity? Giving your knitting patterns to Ravelry so all can see? Yes, that is. Posting your knititng patterns to Ravelry for sale and $250,000 per month profit so Rav can claim all of their support staff is "volunteer?" Or is it fifty bucks to Ravelry favorite charity of the month?

Charity is giving when it's an effort to help those with less. Charity is not writing a check.
