“Can't say enough good things!”

If you knit or crochet then you need this site for patterns, yarn reviews, friendship with other fiber artists and education in your craft. This is run by a small but amazing staff who are extremely responsive to all of your needs. And it's free!

“Not impressed”

Hazel S.
5/15/23

I have only purchased one pattern through ravelry, the money was taken but I have not received the pattern. I've messaged ravelry and the designer directly through their own website and have had no response from either! Very disappointing as the pattern was lovely!

Meets all my needs and more, from project tracking to patterns, yarn information to connecting with other fiber users. With every decision the owners make about where to take their business I find the site becoming better and better!

Nothing else exists quite like Ravelry. You can find everything you need to help and inspire all of your fiber art projects. I've been a member since the beginning and a crocheted since I was 4- I've seen it all and nothing could be better!

Ravelry made the business decision to publicly announce that support for white supremacist policies are no longer welcome on their site. I applaud this decision. I have been a member for 10 years, and was proud to be a member the day the policy was announced. This is a great yarn and pattern database that is open to all to use, just take support of white supremacist policies and politicians elsewhere

The site is what I wish the world was: a true microcosm, with good and bad, but the leaders are always doing everything they can to make it better. More inclusive, more safe for everyone, more just and honorable. Ravelry is undoubtedly the best fiber arts database, and the best forum design I've ever seen, but they also always seem to be aiming for that homey and welcoming vibe. Incredible, all the way around.

This is a place where every word you write is monitored. You are not allowed to use any word that could possibly offend someone, such as "America" for example. Or for heaven's sake do not even mention the word Christian. Anti Semite phrases are allowed though. Photos such as the American flag are prohibited while F someone or something is A-ok. Just so weird. It used to be for knitting content, but no more. It is very sad.

Ravelry is an amazing resource for knitters, crocheters, and all other types of fiber enthusiasts. The site is easy to navigate and features thousands of patterns & interest-based groups to explore

The recent decision to ban content supporting the current administration has angered some members who have vowed to bring Ravelry down through negative reviews and boycotting advertisers who stand with Ravelry.

Having been bullied off this site once before for having a different opinion on Brexit, I returned using a different name. Total membership was 9 years but after being alerted to their latest policy, I am absolutely disgusted at their racist attitude towards white people! President Trump does NOT support white supremacy and nor do his supporters and I am livid to be placed in that category! I believe the Ravelry owners have been bought out by the likes of George Soros and this policy is a 'test' to see how Conservatives react to being banned, before Twitter, Facebook and Instagram do it! Vile people - account deleted! :(

I really can't form the words without Dictatorship, and promotion of hate and division being among them, Not saying who I do or do not support, but I am against censorship
Doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away!

I have been using Ravelry for a number of years now as they have such an extensive list of patterns, both free and paid and somewhere to keep them stored if I ever loose one. There are significant filter options when searching patterns but I rarely use them as I often find things that I'm not looking for but might use later! There are also some forums but I only use a few, there is a great one for pattern testers that I found is a great way to learn new stitches and make new friends. I also love the fact that the patterns and yarn are from all over the world.

There is no room in the creative process for bullies. Who I vote for, or support, is no one's business. How I treat other people is what is important. Calling members names, and banning due to preconceived notions of who people are is unacceptable. The owners should never manage anything connected to the public.

It's unbelievable. You support the president in any way? Then you are clearly a Nazi and hater and a white supremacist unworthy of Ravelry. It's a shame it's come to this, but it has. Fortunately, there are many other places to find good patterns.

Ravelry has often been described as "the Facebook for knitters" but it's so much more than that. For starters, all fibercrafts are welcome! Also it's an amazing database for patterns, projects, yarn, and more. The forums have been great for knitting advice as well as making new friends. I've been a member for 11 years now and haven't found a site that has come close to the comprehensiveness of Ravelry.

THE place to go for knitting and crochet patterns, info on virtually any and all yarn, and of course, the forums which keep me from getting much actual knitting or crocheting done. The notebook feature has served me so very well when I set a project aside for months or years and need a reminder of where the heck I was with it.

The site itself functions like a dream - combining databases for patterns, yarn, and tools, as well as one's own projects, along with a robust forum and group-creation feature. The community of more than 8 million Ravelers is rich, and is full of advice, guidance, and friendship.

As a bonus, Ravelry recently banned a particular kind of hate speech. The team who own Ravelry are strongly supportive of human rights and equality for all humans.

Ravelry has been my go to for crochet patterns for the last 7 years. They have taken a stance on something important to them. I think it's important to take a stance when things get out of hand. Thank you ravelry

While Ravelry is a great resource for patterns and information concerning knitting and crocheting, the owners have allowed multiple cases of bullying to go on within the site and have not done anything to stop it. If you are Liberal, then you will find it welcoming. If you are Conservative, you will not. While hiding behind a statement of inclusiveness, the owners have allowed their cult-like followers to bully and harass the more conservative people. Even going so far as to take down forums and block any USA related icons. In one such instance, they removed a hat pattern that said "God Is Love" on it and branded it as hate speech.

They recently released a statement that support for President Trump and his administration would not be welcome as they felt that it was support for white supremacy. While they did not say that anyone who supported is a white supremacist, their followers decided that's what it meant and the owners of the site have yet to correct that.

I've been with Ravelry since the beginning (2007). I am super proud to be part of a site with such progressive policies. If you are a fiber artist (knitter, crocheter, weaver, spinner, etc) looking for a community which does not tolerate the hate coming out of the Trump administration, Ravelry is the place for you)

Ravelry has been very popular among knitters. They moved from concept to execution of a very unique and helpful site with few bumps in the road. Now Ravelry has the courage of their convictions to stop people from spreading the hateful doctrine of trump. This has rankled many magats so they are leaving bogus reviews. If you want a great knitting community go to Ravelry.

I've spent my life knitting and crocheting as way to be productive while my disability kept me down. I also find it to be a source of peace and joy when I need to relax. Ravelry went out of their way to make it political, to apply hateful labels to over half of our country, and try to turn a beautiful hobby often used for charity, into a place of judgement, hate, and personal agendas.
The perfect example of a company using their customers as pawns to fund their personal agendas.

These are the people who have shunned all Trump supporters and called them white supremacists without facts. Please observe the group-think mentality of this cult-like behavior and make a decision based on facts, tolerance and acceptance. They are the opposite of what they claim to be. They are now the bullies of the knitting community. Have a wrong thought and be shunned. Not very freedom-loving or accepting.
Experience true peace, freedom and friendship when you leave the hateful cult of Ravelry.

Ravelry is by far the most comprehensive and user friendly database in existence. There are groups for every interest and the site owners are extraordinarily responsive to site issues/improvement suggestions. So many people are angry about the site not being what they want instead of appreciating it for what it is.

I love Ravelry I have been a member since 2011. I commend them for being a leader when it comes to providing safe spaces for oppressed minorities. They also happen to have the largest catalog of paid and unpaid patterns I have ever seen on the internet. What's not to love.

The original, not possible to duplicate, most useful yarn crafting site. This is first and foremost a site to organize, track, and search for patterns, yarns, and help.
The database programming that drives this site is the best out there for this type of crafting site.
Then to top it off, the people who run this site truly believe in not allowing hateful, harmful speech directed to marginalized groups.

Ravelry is a huge resource for knitters, crocheters, spinners and weavers. I have been a user since the first few months and have been astonished at how well it has scaled to accommodate millions of users. I am beyond thrilled at the courage the owners have had in fighting back against racism and homophobia to help to create inclusive spaces in the crafting community.

I enjoy Ravelry because it is a specific-interest website for knitters and crocheters. I love that it has a drop down menu for an individual's personal notebook, which includes a messaging function, as well as creating one's own library of knitting projects, yarns, patterns. I also like the navigation bar where visitors can go to find patterns, yarn, fellow knitters, groups, and a discussion forum. Public vs. individual is very well delineated ~ horizontal navigation bar for public information and vertical menu for individual information.

I love Ravelry because they have provided a site to find patterns, designers, and yarns, as well as a wonderful, safe place to talk with fellow fiber artists all in one spot.

It is an easy website to use. I love being able to create a personal database of my projects, patterns, and yarns all in one place as well as meeting fellow knitters in their forums.

They are an inclusive community dedicated to making everyone feel welcome.
