I would give them a"0" if I could. So were pick up our car on Jan 17 in Liberia at the Budget Counter and the rep for Budget says the Liability insurance provided by you guys is insufficient and we will be charged $5000 if we so much as nick someone's car. SO frightened w and he says"GO AHEAD AND BUY THE ADDITIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE AND YOU WILL BE REIMBURSED BY US WHEN GET BACK AND FILL OUT THE CLAIM". He assures me he has noted all conversions and there is also a recording of our conversation and exactly what he told me to do and that we'd be reimbursed. I do as he said and purchase the extra $114.94 insurance ONLY because I was told we would be reimbursed. Get home, fill out the form, get a letter via email from Rental cars.com that they are processing my refund. Never see it show up. Then I get an email today that "they have reviewed the case" and will not be reimbursing us. A a top sales travel agent I will be posting for our 6000plus agents to suggest no one use this company. Terrible service., and directly lied to the customer. I am a travel agent and want to make everyone one aware not to use them!
There was no car available after we spent £65 to get a taxi to them and £399.99 and now it's impossible to get our money back
Be aware of these people. They say they will give you a car but they will find ******* reasons not to give you a car AFTER you pay and FORGET THE REFUND
PS i wish there were minus stars..
I rented the car in dusseldorf through rentalcars.com.
I paid a deposit through credit card and i photographed the car that had scratches prior to rental.
When I returned the car, the emloyee told me that I had made the scratch. I showed him the picture I had prior to rental snd he said ok.
When I csme back to my country, i found out they kept 609 euros from the deposit for the scratch!
I complaint and sent the photo I had and they never answered.
I believe RENTALCARS.COM has the same responsibility as the car rental company because RENTALCARS.COM hosts SCAMS like this, DESPITE OFall complaints that they steal your money.
NEVER RENT A CAR FROM RENTSLCARS.COM
NEVER. BEWARE!
No way to pick up your booking or contact anyone. No one answers the phone, or returns calls, or anything. No vehicles even at site. No people. Scam
I rented a car from Rentalcars.com from Orlando airport online two weeks prior to my arrival once I landed I wasn't able to find which car dealer I was renting from someone told me I had to take a shuttle about a mile away to get the car I should have known that was a red flag when I got there I gave the lady my reservation number she told me it did not exist and she does not a have a car for me the look on her face told me this happens all the time she told me you need to call the company you rented from so I did I explained to them there is no car for me and they put me on hold for twenty minutes only to tell me they could not help me so I was taken back on the shuttle to the Orlando airport without a car I end up spending $400 dollars for the five days because It wasn't booked in advance which by the way the booking agent at the airport said to me anytime you have to get a shuttle to get a car is usually fishy so my advice to anyone who books from these people ask a lot of questions they should be put out of business they don't even exist in the USA.
Worst experience I have ever had, took my money and I never got a car. Left us stranded at the airport then wouldn't refund us our money
We booked a car from Europcar through Rentalcars in September. First of all, Rentalcars website quoted us in AUD and charged our card in another currency which costed us almost $50 intl. Transaction fee (that's misrepresentation of the currency). Second, the quote was presented as discounted price which will only be applicable if the car's prepaid (this was not true, as we later on realized that they have charged us $200 more than the actual price through Europcar). Trusting that this is the cheapest we can get, we went ahead and prepaid for th e car. Rentalcars immediately charged our credit card on the same day. Then, 3 months later, when we went on holidays and wanted to pick up the car, we were told by Europcar that they haven't received the money from Rentalcars yet! Three months later! We immediately informed Rentalcars and were in contact with Europcar the whole time during our holidays which caused a lot of stress for us. Then, after 2 weeks of holidays, when we returned the car, Europcar still hadn't received the money and therefore they charged us for the same booking again! Now we are in a situation that we have been double-charged (with double intl. Transaction fees) and no one from Rentalcars is responsive for the mistake they've made. They are a total fraud. The maximum that customer service has done is that they've told us they will look into the case in the next 14-28 days! They already have the invoice and receipt from Europcar, which means they know that we've been double-charged and yet they need 28 days to review! Who knows when they will refund us.
Bottom line: The worst company ever... don't trust the information they present and don't trust using them at all!
I had a refund that was granted by the car rental, but Rentalcars.com refused to refund and I lost the money
Rented a car, had to cancel. The "cancellation fee" was almost as much as the car rental. Don't use this site.
Answer: Good luck with that one, I'm in the same boat, I'm going to pass my situation on to the travel doctor at the Sunday Times.
