Very clear website, it took less then five minutes to reserve a room. My wife and I are visiting a friend in New Jersey and have never spent time in the Meadows. Two for one trip, Hilton looks like a great place for a get away weekend.
Simple and quick but I was not explicitly and separately notified that there is a ridiculous service fee on top of the hotel cost...my error for not reading all lines...will NEVER use this site again!

The phone number I called appeared to be on the website of a major chain hotel. Now I know I was misled from the start of the call, believing I was talking to their reservation counter -- only to find out later that it was a 3rd party pretending to be the hotel front desk reservation counter. I was given a price of $94.67 per room per night plus taxes and fees. The reservation desk representative asked if I wanted to go ahead and reserve two rooms for two nights at that price. I was told that the rooms at this price are non-cancellable. Knowing that we were definitely going to go, I agreed. The person then asked for all my information including my credit card number, which I gave him and he was going to email me my confirmation. Upon receiving my confirmation I found out they had charged me$214.62 in fees and taxes and another $14.99 in service fees. I was confused. I asked how fees and taxes could be 60% of the room charges?!? I asked for a breakdown of the fees and taxes. However the reservation counter representative didn't have an answer. "The system calculates the final bill", he said. My charge card billing was already pending at a ridiculous $608.29.
My husband called Reservation Counter, which we looked up online only to find out they were a 3rd party company called ReservationCounter.com. He called right back to cancel the rooms and was told it was non-cancellable. They would not adjust the price, or make any concessions. I was just basically screwed over. The real hotel reservation was charging $84.96 per room and $52.68 in taxes and fees. We were overcharged $215.77 by being misled into thinking we were dealing with the hotel direct.
Everything about this company is designed to take advantage of the customer. Their name is misleading. Their representatives are not forthcoming with all the charges. Their website had no place to do a review. Not sure where they get all the good reviews. When you look up "review reservationcounter.com", you will see all the complaints about them.
Any company that truly cares about their customers should quit selling rooms to this unscrupulous company.

I've been dealing with Travelpass(reservation counter) since November for a refund of a booking. The issue began when the customer service rep portrayed themself as a front office rep from Embassy Suite in Winston Salem. Needless to say it's been a headache since. I find it ironic that when you call Travelpass their message clearly states they are not part of a particular hotel. If that was clearly stated at the beginning I would have never started the reservation with them.
Intial attempts for a refund where stonewalled by representatives who can only restate policy, once you ask for a supervisor you are put on hold forever. When you finally speak with a supervisor he/she only restate policy and informs you that there is no one else to speak with. As a result I disputed the charge with the credit card company, which was of little assistance. I then resorted to calling Embassy Suites in Winston Salem who were very helpful. The managers of Embassy Suites acutally approved a refund. I received an email on 12/18/23 from Travelpass that the refund will be granted. When the new year began I called Travelpass since I hadn't received the refund. The first call accused Embassy Suite of recharging for the refund, the second call said that since there was a dispute on the charge their policy is to wait 60 days before refunding the reservation. So now I've been told that my refund will be processed on February 6th and there is no one who you can speak with who can do anything beside recite policy. The "Escalation Team" who will "take good care of you" can only be reached by email. Unfortunately, they never respond to emails sent.
If whenever booking you ever realize you are dealing with Travelpass, Reservation Counter or whatever name they go by hang up. Your life will be much less frustrating!

I am a senior and this was my first time booking on line. My internet kept on cutting out so I decided to call the number provided at the hotel site, first question I had was: is this Armstrong inn? Her answer was yes it is. The agent was not helpful at all. I told her the city and the dates and the hotel I wanted to book a room with. She said sorry they are booked out till august,but she can book me with a different hotel, what was 2 towns away where I needed to be, I said no ty, I said I was just in the middle of booking a room there when my internet gave out, she responded with oh wait I found the problem, for some strange reason it shows booked out on the Canadian site but not on the American, so let me book you a reservation right now, she gave me a total of 370 dollar for 3 night, I ask if this is Canadian, she said yes she just checked the exchange. That's when I ask her again if she is with Armstrong inn ( the hotel I wanted to book) she said yes plus some others, after I hang up with her I got the confirmation and to my horror it was 490 dollars,, 370 us not Canadian, so I was lied to. I called back right away cause I could not afford the trip as is but especially not for that price, a different agent took my cancellation. When I got that confirmation I saw they charged me a 22.90 cancellation fee… it said on the website free cancellation,. I finally found the real hotel number and there was rooms available and I booked directly with them. This experience left me sad and worried, I will be a little more at easy the moment I find that money back on my account, what he said will take up to 10 days,,,
Update, the company has been good resolving this, and reimbursed me the service fee. Ty
