My husband made the reservation for 4 people at Panini on the Bay in Tuckerton, NJ. The reservation was made on line on Resy.com.
Upon arrival at the very busy restaurant, we were told we had no reservation because we had cancelled it. We had not cancelled: the resy app had.
The restaurant staff was very sympathetic to our situation and found a booth for us---where we all enjoyed excellent meals.
This was the second time Resy failed for my husband. They will not get a third opportunity.
I am forced to use Resy for restaurant reservations in NYC because it appears to be the most used by restaurants (because it's cheaper than OpenTable for the restaurants) but it is TERRIBLE. Totally user non-friendly. The Android app does not work at all (and I refuse to use Apple; supposedly the OS app works better). The computer site only allows you to search by date and number of people. There is no way to drill down to see time of day. So if I search a date for dinner but the restaurant serves lunch they may have LOADS of availability at lunch but nothing at, say, 8 PM. It is so cumbersome and you have to click through a million locations just to find a place for around 8 PM. You also cannot sort by reviews or ratings and you cannot see restaurant reviews at all. This is by design! They do not allow you to read restaurant reviews. Sorting by neighborhood is done by dragging a map and reloading, but again, literally EVERYTHING shows up, not just places with availability, let alone places with availability at the time you want to eat. This site is so terrible and whenever I use this site it leaves my blood pressure elevated and I sit there cursing it. So sorry OpenTable is so expensive for restaurants because it is so superior in every way to Resy.
