I ordered new door jamb switches (dome light) for a 71 dodge demon. Their listing said the same part was for both doors. When I tried to install I discovered they were too small diameter and that the wire plug for driver side is 3 wire and passenger side is 2 wire. Obviously wrong. Sent them an email (impossible to get ahold of these people) and they requested I supply VIN, OEM part number from 1971 (Right!, like I have that!) and pictures. They said the listing was for a dodge dart but my VIN comes back as a Demon and therefore they won't pay shipping. I explained that a Demon IS a Dart, which is the same as a Duster, and a Valiant. Of course all these listings say same part fits both doors but they are all wrong. You would think they would issue return shipping for me pointing out their computer listing is wrong but they were rude and closed out the ticket to shut me up.
The word assembly is a overstatement when buying parts from them. They are withholding critical details of most items. You can't ask questions at all nor about the part which is clearly avoided for liability and price gouging purposes. I bought what was listed as a complete control arm as listed only to find the parts are not included in which are needed to install the assembly. Now I'm stuck with a part I can't install due to false and lack of description and details. Not only you will have to buy the rest of the parts that actually makes the assembly complete but you will end up paying more than other websites and part stores... Returns and exchanges for the correct part or full refund is almost impossible and even more expensive! Not to mention you pay for ALL shippings! Let Rock Auto be the last resort if none at all!
I will NEVER do buisness again with RockAuto.com. Their customer service skills suck! Had a part show up broken and now still waiting on the replacement for 5 + days. They will not give you any answers, keep dodging the questions, and then ignores the messages on facebook. Like they will read them and flat ignore you. I use to think so highly of rockauto but not anymore, I will NEVER tell anyone to buy from them again!
I'm a 79 year old female. I've been using RockAuto now for approximately 8 years. It was recommended by a friend who is a mechanic. Most my orders have been perfect. I've had to exchange some parts, mainly due to my mistake and never had a problem getting that done. If you want to save money I highly recommend RockAuto. If you don't want to think and do for yourself go to someone else.

I paid $30.00 EXTRA for what showed to be 2 day delivery they send a tracking number saying 5 days out. Sent a email because they have NO customer service by phone because they are a company that doesn't want to help you in any way with that said still no reply to the email either. Tomorrow contact paypal and stop payment will NEVER order from again.
Ordered a parts and paid $14 extra for next day shipping. Label was printed on a Monday morning. Item wasn't delivered until 3 days later. Contacted Rocakautos horrible customer service and they said they don't guarantee delivery. I said I know that but UPS does. UPS said when I contacted them that they can provide a refund but I must have rockauto file the claim since they paid UPS for shipping. Now Rockauto won't respond to any of my emails. They are horrible and will scam you out of your money on shipping.
I sent my core in about 4 months ago payed for shipping if I get my refund back I will be 5 dollars in the hole. I recommend using brick and morter over these guys. They tell me they have my core in the warehouse but I need a tracking number to receive a refund. They just keep giving me the run around! By email only can't call them no phone Numbers! Stay away if you know what is good for you!
They used to have a customer service they used to be good now they're sending junk parts they want you to ship it back and pay for the shipping that cost more than the park scam big time will never order parts from again. This has happened numerous times now I'm done I will turn them into the better business bureau is a scam company they should sit Federal time thanks!
Whom ever runs this circus needs to retire. Awful website, not user friendly at all. It's stuck in the stone age. Also the tax exemption portion of the check out makes you want to drown your self in a bowl of jello.
I selected a harmonic balancer for my Toyota from several available. Nowhere on any of the descriptions is there a mention that any of the selections were not compatible with additional pully mounting like my stock one. When I go to return the part they claim they did nothing wrong and charge me half of the return shipping. They offer no option to understand the part listing is inaccurate or how I got tricked thinking I was ordering the correct part. No live help or option to comment like they are not interested in my experience. Sad. Be careful.
Parts are mislabled on their site. They sent faulty parts and now won't take them back. No one to talk to as they avoid all forms of interaction. No phone, no email.

Tried to cancel order 10 minutes after I made it, impossible! Website said it was already shipped. BS! No one to call, no cancel order tab on website. I'd rather pay full price at dealer than deal with these people!
I ordered a OEM radiator mopar from rock auto. The radiator they sent me from a dealership they use in Wis. Sent me the wrong part. Rock auto even after telling them the part was wrong had the nerve to charge me return shipping. This rock auto will never get my business again.They have no real customer support who you can call just email. Who ever reads this review do yourself a favor and get your parts from some where else.
I actually like the ability to purchase parts for my clients automotive needs. Even with the shipping added on, most times the shipping is negligent... especially if I'm ordering parts from the same warehouse.
My issue with RockAuto is that they do not provide a method of direct contact; not even through email. I have been waiting on a shipment for a few days now and when I checked the tracking, I noticed the parcel had become damaged in transit. If you follow the guidelines as directed by RockAuto, you must locate your order (no big deal) and then make the claim that your order did not arrive. When I did it on this order, the system said the order is on the way (YEAH, it's on the way back to RockAuto). I wanted to know what the next phase of this process is... I will continue to order from RockAuto, but at the moment, they deserve a very low rating for their refusal to give customers a venue to ask questions.
I ordered i couple of parts from them. Got them all correct. One of the calipers had a bust thread. Requested the refund and it all went down smoothly in less than a day after I shipped the part back.
I bought a remanufactured Hybrid battery from RockAuto just recently. They shipped it incredibly quickly to my daughter's address in Puerto Rico and it went right to her house within 3 days from the US mainland. She installed the battery which is performing really well and returned the core for the refund. It's a Dorman remanned battery and it was by far and away the best price for Puerto Rico. I had to contact customer service about the return shipping for the core but the communications went pretty well, all things considered. This is the first large ticket item that I bought from RockAuto but I've bought numerous other smaller cost parts for other cars from them. I'm very impressed with their parts and shipping. I'll continue to use them in the future.
My 81 year old ordered the wrong parts and they kept Emailing him they are shipping to the correct warehouse taking out of his refund. He got 0.00 back for refund. They dwindled his refund to nothing keeping all his money. They were rude at customer service when trying to find out what happened.
I ordered some parts from these guys. They sent the wrong part. The box was right but the wrong part was in the box. I contacted them and they told me sorry there is nothing we can do about it. Now I am stuck with a part that does not fit my vehicle and am going to have to buy the right part. Do not use these people.
I ordered 8 new Mopar fuel injectors for my 2003 Dodge B3500 Ram Van. Pulled the fuel rail, cleaned everything up and started installing the new injectors. Got to the 7th one and discovered (less than an hour from having the van back on the road) that the 7th Mopar box (correct part number) had a clearly used Bosch injector in it. Damn it! Now that van is down for a week while Rock Auto resolves this screw up!
The company does not have up to date part list, I ordered 8 parts that said it would fit my truck, when the parts arrived only one of the eight would work, when I went to return them they charged me to return the parts and also subtracted the original shipping cost on my order. I would not order parts from them unless you can cross the part numbers to confirm they will fit.
