Up until now, I was a big fan of Room and Board. I am not feeling so good about them at the moment though. I have a dining room table with a leaf from them which no longer stays together completely. I called and emailed pictures of the issue, and after quite a while was finally contacted by someone who was able to help. The part was probably lost during our recent move, so it is not their fault. However, given that I have spent over $25,000 on their furniture and rugs, I would have thought that they would send me the part at no cost. I have no choice but to pay the extra $100 plus on it, but I am disappointed and surprised that a high end company that prides itself on customer service would charge me for the part. I have recommended this company to family and friends, but in the future I am not sure that I will, and I am no longer so eager to order from them for myself.
After the excitement and anticipation of waiting two months, for what was to be the signature piece in our home office, furniture arrived damaged, with chips in multiple locations, and what also appears to be an attempt to repair other damage prior to delivery. 2+ months to get an exchange.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you are okay waiting months for a replacement if the original purchase is damaged.
We've been fortunate to purchase a few items from Room & Board, and every item we've purchased exceeded our expectations. We've purchased wall shelving, a large armoire, a side table, glider chair for nursing, and a children's table with 4 chairs.
Our kids table and glider was our first purchases, and I can say after 7+ years of abuse they have held up amazingly well. The table and chairs have crayon marks that wipe right off, and the glider looks like it did the day it was delivered.
Room and board isn't what it used to be. I can handle the higher end prices and waiting 6 months for furniture to be delivered, but ultimately it's not worth it. They really seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the people that actually deliver the items as the last 2 orders have been messed up in ways that waste incredible amounts of my time to resolve. As a homeowner, you do not want to take on more "fix-it" projects if you don't have to.
Why does the delivery matter so much? Well, Imagine one driver being so lazy that he practically demands you to drive your own truck to pick up the items so he doesn't have to. Then when you say no, he hangs up in the middle of cussing at you. When they do finally arrive, they have broken one of the items. Worse yet, they don't pay attention when moving furniture and now a doorframe needs to be repaired on your brand new house.
All I wanted was some furniture. Not to spend time with a welder, a painter to fix my doorframe, and to pick up furniture that I'm paying to have delivered.
Never ordering from them again.

I have many R&B pieces in my home. I can count off thirteen at the moment, and may have more than that. Over many years I have purchased case goods, benches (one custom), tables (one custom), and bookshelves from them, and all have been excellent quality. Their delivery service could not be better. I have a long, winding driveway that is not accessible for the huge delivery trucks furniture companies use. I always request a step-down service to deliver with a small truck. The last time I got a R&B table delivered (with a heavy stone top), the dispatcher or someone else messed up and sent out the full-size truck. The delivery guys parked down on the main road and carried the table and the stone top up to my house. It's about a quarter mile walk uphill! They could have passed on delivering and rescheduled for a smaller vehicle, but they went to all that trouble to keep the delivery appointment. That is great service. The few times I have had a problem with the quality of a R&B piece, the company has swapped out a replacement without fighting me on the issue. Highly recommended for quality merchandise and top-notch customer service!
Horrific experience at Boston where the manager was awful to me; patronizing and condescending. I was sneered at for taking a blanket with tags off a display shelf with intent to buy.

While moving to a new state, I decided to buy what I thought would be my last sofa bed. I ordered a queen size from Room & Board. It took 6 months to get it, mostly due to supply chain issues during Covid. It finally did arrive and while the sofa itself is very nice, the bed is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep on. Like sleeping on concrete. Room and Board offered to 'exchange' it, but would first have to have it examined to determine whether I could get full value. This would mean shipping this one back and, because the one I had is no longer made (I wonder why), I would have to pay at least an additional $500 for a different brand with no guarantee that I wouldn't have the same problem. So, it's taken months for me to figure out a solution and finally bought a topper from R&B (with a discount) and bought a mattress pad to smooth it out (another $200). The whole purpose of buying this sofa bed was to avoid having to add anything to the mattress. It's better but you still feel the very rock solid mattress beneath you. I will NEVER BUY FROM R&B again, no matter how pleasant the customer service has been. The fact remains that I spent $3500 + topper + pad and if I had the financial ability, I would get rid of it and start all over again.
Their pricing is minimal in some cases. However, there are other places much cheaper that's for sure.
