Received some records I had ordered today - through the post... Yes! - today, a Sunday! - and from the Royal Mail no less! And they weren't two months late.! Will wonders never cease? Am off to pour myself a quick snifter before lying down for a rest so as to recover from the shock. Credit where it's due. If this kind of service continues the Royal Mail may still be in existence this time next year!
Utterly terrible customer service Posted my iPhone in August to sell to a recycling facility. A week later it hadn't arrived so I tracked it and the tracking said, and still says, 'We Have It'. I filled out the long and very detailed form as requested, and received an auto reply saying we'll get back to you, which they did a month later, 'We're still investigating your claim...' etc., ect. Three weeks later I chased them up again and got another auto reply, then yesterday, over two months after posting the iPhone, I get an email saying, 'Sorry, you need to contact the business owner and confirm the phone is not there after seven days, for us to start an investigation'
I paid unpaid postage for an item which had insufficient post paid by the sender. I received an acknowledgment of payment and was informed I'd receive my mail 2 days later, 17th feb. Today, 23 feb, I still haven't received my letter. Bad. But the worst thing is that it is impossible to report this on the website - you just get sent round and round in circles. Phoning up is equally useless... you are given "advice" (!) and then the call just ends.
Items within my letter are to alleviate issues to help cope with mental health issue and anxiety. Royal Mail YOU ARE EXACERBATING THESE MENTAL HEALTH ANXIETIES BY NOT PROVIDING A SERVICE THAT I HAVE PAID FOR

The worst service I have ever known! They softly knock on the door and immediately leave... I do not have time to go down from the 3rd floor in a second! Do I have to follow the car?! This happens every time! I do Redelivery and again the same thing happens! Worst and nastiest service ever! I hate!

I was out on the first of December, a some thing for you card was left in my letter box. I rearranged for my parcels to be delivered on Thursday 3rd of December through the telephone number on the something for you card, I waited all day, nothing was delivered. It wasn't delivered on the Friday either. I rearranged it for Monday the 7th December, I waited in all day yet again, had to take time off for this. Nothing was delivered, this is not good. I realise it's Christmas time and things are busy at this time of year, and we are in a pandemic. I think the service has been very poor and needs some attention to see where things could be put right so these negative reviews won't happen. I hope I get my stuff, I can't afford to take more time off, I think I waited a long time for nothing. It's pretty disgusting service I'm a unhappy customer just be wary of this service.
This is a SCAM! Stay way from this company. I ordered 2 products and I just received 1 and it was damaged. I sent pictures and the tracking number but they not refund me. Very bad customer service!

In my experience Royal Mail are incompetent, and untrustworthy, they are an extremely unreliable courier, they consistently do not deliver by the deadlines they themselves set; I have experienced their drivers telling lies about items being delivered, stating the item has been delivered when it hasn't, only for it to be delivered the day after it should have been!
I don't usually order items that are being delivered by Royal Mail, as their service is really appalling, but as I recently wanted a difficult to find item a company was selling through Amazon marketplace I had no choice.
According to tracking the item was collected by Royal Mail on 01.12.23, it was due for delivery on 13.12.23 (why it takes two weeks between collecting the item and delivery who knows!). As the item is expensive I waited in all day, taking time off of work, all day the tracking information was stating the item would be with me by 8pm; lo and behold, at 8,05pm the tracking information changed, now stating the item will be delivered by 18.12.23! Utterly appalling and inept standard of service.
I moved house and acquired a redirection service. The mail went to the old address. I missed over 7 important letters. I sent a test letter to myself to the old address with Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day. The test letter went to the old address. I contacted Royal Mail and provided evidence that the Redirection Service didn't work. They refused to put things right initially. When I attempted to call, their Customer Service dropped my call. Terrible service. I had to call over 10 times to get my money back for the service I didn't receive, including for Redirection and Guaranteed Next Day. They did everything possible not to give my money back. Only after I threatened with legal action, they gave my money back. The service was extremely bad. The treatment was extremely unfair. Avoid their redirection service by all means possible because you risk paying for nothing and getting no service, thinking your mail would be redirected. They are not Royal Mail but Royal Fail. It is a shame to use the "Royal" word for such a terrible service.

Over priced and shoddy service
I live in Edgware, my business is from home and we depend on our mail to run smoothly, Royal Mail is far from a smooth operation.
We get our normal mail at 5pm each day and Special Delivery at 3-4pm, Such a useless service to say the least.
And i don't have time to claim for every special delivery that arrives way past its promised delivery time, A shocking service.

I bought a camouflage track suit from Amazon ( or so I thought) little did I know when I looked on my phone, it was being shipped by " Royal mail " never heard of them. This was on May 27th, 2023. It is now June 9th, 2023, and according to my orders on my Amazon account it still says it's in Preston MC, guess what? No wonder you people in the UK lost the revolutionary War to the USA, it's in Indianapolis, Indiana, scheduled for drop off June 12th, 2023. WOW!
Sold an Item on Ebay, sent the item in good faith to the buyer. It's been well over two weeks and the Item never arrived. Had to refund the buyer over £100 and my Ebay reputation is now in tatters because of this incompetent lot. Had to wait gawd knows how long and eventually the Royal Mail website allows you to make a claim. After filling in an enormous amount of information it states that I will be lucky to get £20 refund if at all! Unbelievable... I have now waited days since putting in the claim and heard nothing, put in a complaint as well, still heard nothing. Like so many companies they indicate Covid is causing delays etc, yet they lost my mail on a previous occasion way before Coronavirus and they will carry on loosing!?!? Mail way after there is a Global Vaccine available. You give your stuff in good faith to this lot via the Post Office, not wanting to let your customer down and they cause nothing but deep frustration... I would give '0' stars if I could because they completely failed in their duty to deliver my Parcel and gave me 0% Customer Service when trying to deal with the situation... Awful

I would have rated Royal Mail lower than 1 star, but you have nothing less here. What a load of rubbish service they are running... "undelivering" and "redelivering" with this new system of theirs. They need DELIVERANCE from their ineptitude. Must be a bunch of airheads managing their operations, yet they have the audacity to brag about being a "green business entity". Please tell me how do you attempt redelivery on a working day over and over when evidently people are at work? To make matters worse, the courier arrives at irregular times contrary to advise given to customers who try to look out for the next redelivery. Even the postmen themselves are fed up of inexplicable answers to complaining customers and appear embarrassed to be wearing the uniform when accosted with queries. Well here's a solution; AUCTION THE ORGANISATION TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER IN THE BUSINESS. What a shame!
As I'm working from 8AM to 5PM I can't take parcels when delivered, however for collection my post office depo is at Manchester, M8 9AA waterloo road and they working hours is Monday to Friday is 8 to 12, how the hell I can collect my parcels if I'm working person? Royal mail services for unemployed and retired people only? Shame!

Back down to one star, RM has gotten rid of the proper online price finder that allowed you to input size/weight/value and see relevant services. Now all you can do is download a crummy pdf. The old system was quick and easy and useful for finding insured services for high value items. Its like these companies go out of their way to employ useless morons to run their websites.
UPDATE: Has improved some what; compensation is easier to get and they have finally adjusted the rates more in line with others. However, still no ability to get normal tracking service from a post office counter, if you buy online with a personal account you CAN'T drop off at a post office! Insane. A lot of online options not available at post office, this is because Royal Mail and The Post Office are two companies due to moronic privitisation. Whole thing needs to be renationalised and run based on customer service not profits to shareholders!
Only use Royal Mail for the smallest and cheapest contents. Their large parcel rates are a joke and most importantly their 'compensation' scheme is an absolute con. The site is a joke - Reference numbers don't work, reCaptcha's don't work (work on every other site I use) meaning it is almost impossible to make a claim. Also be aware that if you are an online seller they DO NOT compensate the value of the item you sold only WHAT IT COST YOU (and you need proof of buying it) - so those antiques you inherited with no receipt are WORTHLESS according to these people. This organisation deserves no sympathy and at the moment I would happily see them go bankrupt.

I paid for it to be signed, and its still not received. Amazon have now refunded the buyer How fo I file a claim for £45? As amaz refunded the charge to me when they refunded the customer, even though I sent the evidence it was sent. Just to add, I spent £4500 at royal mail, but a negative response will maen I move to Myhermes for all uk postage.
