I thought I was going to be getting Seeking Alpha for $29.00 but found the hard way it cost me $479.00 + $29.99 right off the bat then $29.00 a month. I did use the program for 14 day trail, but did not have my stocks loaded. So I didn't see what my portfolio looked like plus I didn't have access to all the stuff. Now that I have paid for everything and am getting what I paid for and loaded my stock. I really like what I found. It showed me that I only had a few bad stocks, but most were in pretty good shape. I also like the information you get. It is very intuitive and goes very well with my Simply Wall Street Program. I just wish it didn't cost so much. I did tell my son about it. He is a self-employed contract IT engineer that solves problems for stock brokage firms, like fiber optic lines, security, new computer software setup and assists personnel in the EU and Asia on hardware setup. He said he would look at it, but he had to be careful because of his work. I highly recommend Seeking Alpha If you can afford it. Maybe I will get it if I make some money from the stocks I do have.

Seeking Alpha does nothing to raise its reputation by constantly featuring analyses of companies by Gordan Johnson of GLJ Research. Despite being rated in the bottom 3% of 15,900 analysts and a portfolio return of negative 8% during another banner Bull market, Seeking alpha continues to give air to his debunked and patently false financial reports. Either GJ is fantastically incompetent or cynically a short seller's shill. I suspect Seeking Alpha likes the click bait of GJ outlandish statements but it doesn't show much respect for its readership - we deserve better.

Most of the authors are completely clueless the only talent they seem to have is to be bombastic when they put pen to paper. There used to several good writers that I used to follow back in 2011 and 2012 and they all left. I asked them why, the reason was simple, SA was forcing them to focus on garbage and did not let them use Technical analysis or give them room to express themselves in their unique way. What ticked me off was these authors were the few that were right consistently and yet SA found a way to drive them away.
Secondly when you comment you have to comment like a good little boy if you don't your comments are taken down.
And the biggest insult is the almost $200 a month charge for their premium service, which can only be labelled as "premium crap". I speak from experience i took the annual membership (as I knew there was a 30 day free cancellation period) and I cancelled in less than 9 days so that tells you how great this service is. It took 5 days to get my refund back.
Overall you can do a lot better by paying for subscriptions from other sites that are 5X cheaper and 10X better

I am not sure if I am using this site to the fullest! I read news articles, but usually after they have happened! Advantage is another software but gives news on stocks they heard insider news!

The printing of material is never fit to the page? So when I copy a report several lines are missing which is frustrating! Also when printing sometimes the " comment" section is omitted?

I have subscribed too SA for a few years through a number of authors. Those that I have found to be helpful I have continued to subscribe to. Some I have canceled after the 2 week free subscription time period. Even the few that I have canceled I have learned from. The comments to articles can be off thread. I agree with a few comments here that some of the comments are not appropriate and should not be allowed, but that would restrict freedom of speech. Political comments are not appropriate on a web site used for discussion of investments in stocks or bonds.
I do have a gripe about Seeking Alpha which is that they don't track their authors results. There are way too many authors for an investor to track their results, but Seeking Alpha should be able to rate an authors results. Supplying readership a specific percentage of results for each recommendation.
When I first started reading SA there were far more free articles about individual stocks than there are now. For what it's worth I think SA should establish rules about authors attempting to pump subscriptions. First and foremost authors that are releasing their articles for public consumption should be required to release them within a week of their release to subscribers, otherwise their information is out dated. Hope this review is helpful.
