Excellent service, including email updates, advance notice from the courier company, timely delivery. Very well packaged tool chests so no damage upon arrival. Very sturdy product, probably overkill for a plucky amateur like myself, but worth every penny.
Bought 2 gas struts, one failed immediately because it was incorrectly manufactured with insufficient thread on the shaft, I notified them and sent them photos, it took 2 weeks for a replacement to arrive this was completely wrong and would not fit, I notified them and sent photos again showing the errors. Since then they have ignored my emails, they promise to phone me back but don't on numerous occasions, a company to avoid
Thanks for SGS people who sort out my problem and send it a replacement for my compressor! Regards!
Bought it online in November. Parcel was alright outside no any damage and I put the box on storage for 2 months. Open the box and I did find some damages on main air pipes so I couldn't use it! I've got 1 week now after 2 emails and 2 phone calls...I haven't got a clue what's gonna be.no any answers or any idea what I'll have to do!
Tip for consumers:
I am in the middle of ...I don't know! I bought a scrap instead of good product! And they didn't answer to any requests!

First class Company easy to use website with an excellent range of products at very competitive prices. I have ordered from them several times in the last few months and they have always delivered next day.
Second purchase from SGS. Chainsaw arrived when stated, easy to assemble and started after third pull with a true easy start mechanism. Impressed with the additions - fuel mixing bottle, tools, file and bag, plus 2 chains. Have not tried it in action yet but all in all seems good.
I researched a tool box that I could use to hold my tools. The box I picked seemed suitable. It was delivered damaged which in fairness SGS compensated me for, but a short few months later the box has multiple issues. I've just been told that this is a light weight tool box and no refund will be offered. It's a sub standard product that you can't store tools in. How silly. If I wanted to carry around cotton wool I'd have used a tote bag.
I ordered a generator that when it arrived was never fit for purpose (wheels fell off due to cheap rubbish split pins, bolts were missing for the legs, handle sheared apart slicing my daughters hand again cheap rubbish material and no power output). I rang SGS twice who once they found my order and understood I wanted to return the item put the phone down on me. I had to go through paypal for a refund - SGS refused to collect the item so it cost me nearly £50 to return it. They refused to update the paypal case after they received the item back so it dragged on another two weeks. I would recommend you look elsewhere to make your purchase as my experience is that SGS supply shoddy goods and have no interest in customer service.
Negative reviews of their products don't appear on their site, only the good ones. I've had nothing but problems with this machine and little to no help from the company who seem to be more interested in trying to prove that I've done something wrong (despite following the manual to the letter) than actually fixing it. I've only had a few hours of use from it in total, now it won't start at all. Finally got to the point of returning it, at my own cost, despite it still being under warranty and I've received no word of it being received after a week? In the height of summer when we desperately need it. This company does not value their customers interests at all.
Read before purchasing anything from SGS. They will NOT issue a refund, if you look at their returns information site you will not find the process on how to return your goods. They mention a 60 day return policy but will find any way of getting out of it. I purchased and tested a Milwaukee tyre inflator that didn't meet my requirements however as I had opened it the item did not qualify for returns. All the packaging is intact, there's not a mark on the item and is in re-saleable condition so what's the issue? The after sales customer service is absolutely terrible and lacks any experience. I've been in the trade for over 16 years and never had to deal with such a terrible company. Extremely disappointed and will not be doing business again. Go elsewhere pay a little more and get proper customer service.
The sales team was brilliant and order arrived as expected. However, one of the items became faulty after a few weeks. Called them to ask for a replacement or refund and what a process I had to go through to prove that the item was in fact faulty and not me operating the item incorrectly. I am sure there are many positive reviews but it will be interesting to hear if anybody else has had such a bad experience in trying to get your faulty item replaced.
Bought an air ratchet set from SGS.
It failed after 30 seconds attached to an air line with no load. Initial response was that I needed to buy a bigger compressor. Then they suggested we should up the air pressure above their recommended operating pressure. Then they said that they could not take a return on a used product. On their site they claim to have a 60 day returns policy and a 2 year warranty. How is this a used product?
Would never use this company again.
On purchasing a gas strutt only to find it didn't fit. I returned and SGS have said they will not refund as there was a minuscule scratch on it. The strut had only been taken out of the packaging to see if it was fit for purpose and then packed away again. I don't see how I scratched it. They supplied a photograph and was clearly a very small scratch. This company was easy to take my money but not very forthcoming to give it back. BEWARE!
I had made an order of thousands of pounds worth of stuff just for them to delay me over 3 weeks and then send me a cheap bag, completely irrelevant to my order. I have proof they have done this and they are flat out refusing to rectify the situation so I will be reporting to trading standards. Unless you want to lose your money I recommend everyone avoids these cowboys!

Avoid!!!
My strimmer didn't start at all. Only after receiving additional starting instructions (not the first time this has happened then) did it eventually start only to use a tank of fuel in 10 mins and then refuse to start thereafter, hot or cold.
SGS were reluctant to admit a fault but eventually had it back for investigation but after keeping it for 2 weeks sent it back in the same condition.
I then had a saga to obtain a refund which took a lot of chasing and contacting my credit card company. Overall the experience lasted over 6 weeks and is not one I intend to repeat!
Shockingly bad customer care. After sales service is non existent. You will wait for 30 mins+ on the phone then get cut off. I sent a strut back for repair and heard nothing for over 2 weeks. Repeated phone calls just pass you around the business then you get cut off. There is no manager to speak to. I have lost many hours of work trying to get my strut back. Its a 3rd world country service. Sales people of course are very quick to act. I will never use them again.
We purchased a compressor from SGS and after its arrival ordered the correct oil for the unit.
After filling to level it ran for approximately an hour before sizing.
At this point we contacted SGS who gave us the run around, blocking two phone numbers to their customer service department and repeatedly hanging up on us. We then decided to make the 100 mile trip to return the item and was told we could not get a refund as it would have to go to their warranty department, in house. After three days we heard back that we hadn't used any oil in the unit and that the repair would be down to us. A reply was then sent regarding the photos they attached, including one of them with oil in the sight for the compressor but this fact was ignored.
Absolute mess of a company, avoid at all costs. They just want your money then avoid all liabilities.

Sell goods which they don't have in stock. Don't tell the truth about the current situation in respect of the goods. Promise next day delivery but obviously cannot undertake.
The CEO Wyatt does not respond to emails so it is no wonder that the Customer Server ice is so woeful.
Impossible to speak to a Manager as the Customer Service makes them unavailable. Look at the negative ratings before buying.
I purchased some struts for my car from their website and when they came they didn't fit. The website didn't make it clear that there were a number of different options for the car, but SGS refused to pay for the return postage, even though they would have access to cheap business rates, so it cost me almost as much as the struts cost to send them back. My advice is to buy from the dealer instead as it'll work out cheaper if there's a problem.
Tip for consumers:
Go to your main dealer instead

Please don't use avoid at all costs, still waiting for a refund 6 weeks later for an item I paid for that was not in stock, hours wasted on calls and emails, promises broken time and time again, my only option is now small claims court! All to save £30 on a £200 order not worth the hassle, avoid, avoid, avoid use at your own peril
Forget advertised & promised delivery schedules
I cannot comment on the product ordered as it has never arrived. My review is to highlight the total lack of customer service received. Yes they have a department of that name but assurances from it are worthless. This is without doubt a SALES company, after sales is not a concern it appears. So beware, as with other reviews, approach an order placement with extreme caution. Next Day delivery is advertised across the website and is part of the telephone hold music (with which I became over familiar) yet when you place an order that feature appears to be forgotten. And the day after that and the day after that and...
Generally not a helpful company. I ordered something after 4 o'clock on a Friday and I was told that it wouldn't be delivered until the following week. I therefore tried to cancel my order ant 0800 Monday and unfortunately had been dispatched. I tried all day to find out the best way of doing this, whether to refuse delivery or whether to wait for it to be delivered and return. All I want to know is how much it would cost to do this Customer service not good.
All day and could not even tell me how much of a cost return. I even wanted to order a 100 L air compressor to replace the 50 L one I had ordered so it's not like I was returning and not purchasing something else. I will never ever buy anything again from this company
Do not use the joke of a company. Item bought 15 days ago for next day delivery. Still waiting. Do not plan anything for the rest of your day if you want to call them because it took 54 minutes for someone to answer. No tracking number provided and fobbed off with a couple of excuses about courier. Offered to collect and told they do not do that. Now waiting on a refund. Absolute scam of a company

20 ton floor press puchased because out 6 year old cheapo Clark unit finally died. Always nervous about buying stuff on the internet, but really happy with the quality of this machine. It will certainly last 20 years from what I can see.
I ordered a Milwaukee pack out system from SGS Engineering - it arrived next day delivery so far so good, un packed the units and noticed that one section was damaged. I got straight on email to SGS to advise
of the fault - they offered £5 discount to keep a damaged item cost £240 which was insulting so I declined and requested a replacement. I was asked to provide photographic evidence of the damage - which I did by return. I was then told to pack the item up and print the shipping label and send a photo to SGS. All completed, at my own expense. I was told by email from SGS that a courier (DHL) would collect the faulty item and deliver the replacement. I took a day off work and no DHL delivery or collection. Following multiple emails I contacted customer services - a long wait time. So called sales and was transferred directly though! I was told by the agent that the item was not ready for delivery today as previously advised and that replacement was still in their warehouse!
It does state on the website that orders are despatched next day, same does not apply to replacement items. I have been told it will be "some time next week", I will not be buying from SGS and will use a credible retailer that provides customer service.
We needlateed a replacement compressor, we ordered it at 2.30 for next day delivery. The order conformation promises afollow up mail on dispatch with tracking number. Having had no contact from SGS i mailled them late in the morning to be told the carriers has sent the item to the wrong depot and it would be an extra day before it was delivered. At no point was i offered a tracking number to co oberate this, so i suspect it wasn't dispatched until i mailed to chase.
I will not be using them again and certainly wouldn'r recommend them to anyone else.
