Second purchase from SGS. Chainsaw arrived when stated, easy to assemble and started after third pull with a true easy start mechanism. Impressed with the additions - fuel mixing bottle, tools, file and bag, plus 2 chains. Have not tried it in action yet but all in all seems good.
Bought 2 gas struts, one failed immediately because it was incorrectly manufactured with insufficient thread on the shaft, I notified them and sent them photos, it took 2 weeks for a replacement to arrive this was completely wrong and would not fit, I notified them and sent photos again showing the errors. Since then they have ignored my emails, they promise to phone me back but don't on numerous occasions, a company to avoid
Recently purchased a 52cc Petrol Grass Strimmer / Trimmer / Brush Cutter. 3 weeks on and having used it very extensively on each of 3 occasions I can report it's a very good piece of kit and excellent value for money. The overall engineering quality is excellent and the whole thing feels very substantial. Assembly was straight forward and the harness is comfortable. The engine continues to start easily and run well. Live in a rural setting and used it to clear part of a field and the edge of a field of very thick and tall grasses/nettles. Only used the 3 eared steel cutting blade so far which works brilliantly. Good coms from SGS once order placed which arrived quite quickly. I looked at other brush cutters priced around the same before buying the SGS model but reviews of these wasn't particularly good. Also, as SGS manufacture and sell these, getting spare blades (and other spares) should be straight forward. Would buy again.
I recently purchased a 3t trolley jack with 6t axle stands and I'm really impressed with the quality. The ordering process was very easy, I was kept informed as my order was progressed and I received my items the following day. I would certainly purchase from SGS again and would highly recommend. Thank you for an excellent service!
I would suggest that anyone that has had issues with SGS Engineering contact CAB in Derby and report the situation. The CAB will send the information to the trading standards team and if there is enough noise they will be investigated.
Unless we act together this company will not change or better still be shut down
Have used SGS on a number of occasions and they have always been spot on. Great website with good detail on products and clearly showing if item is in or out of stock which helps alot when ordering. Friendly and helpful staff, good comms and speeeeedy delivery!

Only just begun using SGS and will definitely use repeatedly. The replacement gas rams are 'Nitrolft' whom I have used before and are so much better than other brands. Just received an SGS wheeled petrol generator - cant wait to unbox it and put that to use. Thoroughly recommend SGS. Cheers, Phil.
Ordered a Milwaukee planer I think at 3pm and was delivered by 12pm next day and the price was about, £40 cheaper than most retailers online. Super quick service and a great price, will use again thanks
I needed a sturdy trolley jack with a big handle, to replace my paper-mache device, and I bought one at a great price from SGS. It certainly does what it is supposed to, and in a very secure manner. I look forward to many 'up-lifting' experiences with it.
Tip for consumers:
Buy something - you won't be disappointed.

I urgently needed some Fork Clevis and pins for a rod braked dumper truck that I am restoring for Apedale Valley Light Railway. I searched on eBay and found some but at a prohibitive price. I Googled and came across SGS Engineering. They not only had what was needed but also at a very attractive price. They stated that orders up to 4pm would be posted the same day and that is exactly what they did. Royal Mail 48hr had them on my mat in record time. That is what I call service with a smile. Thoroughly recommend.
Air Compressor
Some companies in England will not deliver to AB22 Aberdeen, as some think, is the back of beyond, but SGS from Derbyshire, not only accepted the order for an Air Compressor, but dispatched the same day and it arrived here 12noon the following day... Delivery F. O. C... now there's service for you... certainly could not fault that. (PS to SGS, this compressor is a gift for my son so it will be weekend before he unpacks and tries out the tool). Restores your faith in British service.
Over the past few years I have purchased a 100 litre compressor and a 2.5tonne low level high lift jack (suitable for a an XK8 and a transit!). Both products have proved durable with strong performance. I am well chuffed.
Bought a 52cc brush cutter a few years ago, works well, good value for the occasional user. Did the same again this month bought a 52cc chainsaw does the job well on large wind blown trees on my farm occasionally.
Well what can I say arrived promptly next day as promised in a well packaged original box.
Will definitely be ordering from SGS ENGINEERING again.
Quality built strimmer/Bush cutter.
So easy to assemble and simple to use.
Purchase a sc50h air compressor very quick delivery, unfortunately the air filter was damaged in transit so emailed that afternoon, and it was sorted and a new filter was posted that same day couldn't of asked for better customer service. Brilliant, Definitely use and recommend SGS.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Bought a generator less than 2 months ago, exhaust feel off as the others have detailed below same fault ( me suggests this a design fault?). Have spoke to their customer service team 3 times and basically it is all my fault cos I used the generator and despite it being less than 2 months old at the time of the product failure it is entirely my fault?. We have used it a total of 30 hours MAX throughout this time. They are blaming this on information that is on the website but NOT at all on the operators manual.
What I did get off SGS engineering was a strong threat if I put negative comments online they would sue me?!
So to confirm to everyone NICE in fact LOVELY company to deal with? Make your own mind up what that means almost as subjective &ague as their warranties & promises... avoid at all costs is my opinion.
I have been having problems hunting around for some boot struts for my old 1985 Vauxhall cavalier I rang sgs who asked me for measurements in order to provide me with exactly what I needed as you cannot source these parts from main dealers or other car part suppliers but sgs helped me out so much I would definitely recommend them and use them again
Ordered two new struts for my Skoda Yeti late on Thursday afternoon and they arrived on Saturday morning. I paid less than £40 for the two struts incl. P&p. The video on the web-site told me what I had to do and ordering and fixing together probably took less than 10 minutes. (My main agent was happy to charge me over £100 to replace a single strut "including labour"). Arrived very well packaged wrapped in bubblewrap and enclosed in a thick cardboard tube. (The bubblewrap wasn't selotaped so can be used again - I'm not really being tight, every bit of recycling helps!).
The struts appear to be good quality and were an easy fit - a sharp tap on each end to fit them onto the studs on the tailgate and body.
The tailgate now opens and shuts nearly silently, rather than the grinding squeal my neighbours have come to know and love. The web-site was easy to use, the service everything that was promised and the struts seem more than up to the job. Highly recommended.
I purchased a strimmer which is of excellent quality at a fair price and was delivered on time. I was so impressed with the strimmer I decided to replace my old chainsaw also with the SGS 62cc model. The above comments equally apply to the chainsaw
We ordered a product from SGS on Friday (two generators) and they were delivered by Friday midday. The service was quick, reliable and everything ordered arrived! I was very impressed with the ordering site and follow on fulfillment - thanks SGS!
First time I have used SGS Engineering and pleasantly surprised with the efficient and professional service. Order confirmation and invoices emailed promptly and the goods arrived on time and exactly as required.
Tip for consumers:
Feel confident dealing with this company.

Not best pleased with this company I ordered from the website and they haven't provided with the tools I wanted I've called them and they are not responding would not recommend anyone to use this company
I ordered the Compressor & within 2 days it arrived with updates from the
Time I ordered to the day it arrived.
Excellent value looking forward to unwrapping it for Christmas to use in
January.
Thanks again.

I ordered a pair of SGS uprated boot struts for my Nissan 350Z that has a nismo spoiler, and they arrived swifty and are fantastic quality and work perfectly. Really pleased I used SGS - great product, good price and top service & communications. Would not hesitate to use them again. Many thanks!
Simple to order and very quick delivery, seems a sturdily built compressor, have only used it once and worked fine. Only needed to fit wheels, air filter and oil plug. Simple instruction manual tells you all you need to know. It came well packaged. A decent price and 2 year limited warranty. 1st year parts, labour and carriage, 2nd year parts and labour only.
Before buying the SGS 52CC 5IN1 Multi Tool, I had a few questions about the item. These were answered within an hour by the lovely Robert, who was extremely helpful. This resulted in my purchasing the machine and after first use I can vouch for the quality of the machine as used both the pruning saw and brush cutter. Given that it comes with a 3 year warranty I can recommend this for those gardens that require all these attachments. If anyone is interested in buying this tool, the page doesn't brag about this, but it comes with 3 shafts. One dedicated to the pruner, one to the hedge trimmer and the third is for both the strimmer/brush cutter. It even comes with ear defenders, protective glasses and gloves.
Amazing value.

Ordered a 20tonne hydraulic press from them, right from the initial queries/questions through to delivery the customer service and response was brilliant. The press itself is the heavier duty one with mandrills and is of brilliant quality. Will definitely be a returning customer
