I cut these guys out after complaining direct to Stephill about them. So I bought the same machine but 240v and guess what. Arrived with loose choke lever. Terrible welding of frame like they had run out of gas and still painted the bad welding with bubbles in black. The stickers were stuck on lop sided, and the power plugs to run equipment feom was also fitted lopsided and screwed into tin so no chance of altering. Stephill gave me £250 back and I kept the machine because I had no choice as it was with me and Id needed it urgently for work. Last fortnight I went to start it and it took 7 minutes to fire up. This is a £1500 pound generator with Honda engine. The thing surges when using 1/4 of the max power its rated for so Stephills alternator bolted on is also iffy. All I can advise to anyone is dont buy anything from SGS Engineering or Stephill. -1 out of 10

I purchased an air compressor recently from SGS engineering and I was impressed by how they managed my changing delivery requirements. Furthermore, how I received relevant and reassuring communication which was valued whilst I was out of the country. So, thanks Georgina and rest of the SGS team for the great customer service.

Very prompt service the tool cabinet is very well made draws run smoothly and close with a definite movement wheels are large and move the cabinet around easily. I am very pleased with the cabinet I would thoroughly recommend SGS engineering and I am sure I will be a returning customer in the future.

When |I need anything I just contact SGS and it's there. The price is right and the delivery is quick. I bought a Daewoo Musso 4x4 and the gas struts on the tailgate failed. We couldn't lift the tailgate as it was so heavy. Couldn't get parts anywhere and then found SGS. They sorted me out with some struts and it did the job. We bought a dog trailer made in Germany, and the gas struts for the top lid failed. Germany wanted a fortune plus postage, SGS sent me a pair in three days at a fraction of the German price. Now I've bought a Nissan Xtrail and the gas struts failed. Fitted new ones from SGS in 5 minutes.

Ordered a 50l air compressor with the added toolkit. It was advertised at a very good price. I expected it to be better quality than similar priced units advertised on the interweb. I have been incredibly happy with it. Far better quality than expected and delivery was very quick. The added tools kit was as expected but worked out cheaper than other companies kits as bought as a package. The compressor is already fitted neatly into its permanent space in shed. Couldn't be happier.

Though that the wheels was plastic in the photo and was not sure if to buy or not took the risk and I am very happy with the purchase the wheels are metal so they can do any job with in the wight of 450kg would definitely recommen

Recently Purchased a SC24H Compressor with a Sat 401 Brad nail gun.
What a little gem, glad I came across SGS Engineering.
This being my first ever purchase of a Compressor, I was a little apprehensive buying one, Always looking at the way many compressors are constructed through my research and often noting how badly some of them look i, e Bad welding of the stands and other external fittings to the air receiver which sort of give you an insight as to the standard of workmanship or lack of it, but this is an excellent bit of kit.
And as for the nail gun, that was great too, tried it on some softwood first, then on two pieces of one inch thick hardwood with a 40mm nail, and it went through it like a knife through butter. Well impressed.

Mobile Heavy Duty 3 Part Tool Box

A good quality and robust tool-box. Easy to carry and wheel about. Can take a fair amount of abuse. And given its usage you can easily wipe off grease and oil spills.

Purchased this to hold tools for car track days.
Wanted something mobile and able to store a variety of tools.
This fits the bill perfectly.

This mobile tool box fitted the bill. The top box is good for items like gaffer tape, scissors, hammer, small utility bar, large screwdrivers etc.
Draws hold pliers, spanners and smaller tools.
Bottom hinge draw is useful as a general all-purpose catch-all for anything from gloves to odd-size spanners.

Being able to remove the top-box is really good. I have a large covered car trailer and this means I can strap down the toolbox in sections - away from the car. The draws can also be padlocked and have friction movement - this stops them coming open when the trailer is moving.

My only tip would be to buy some of the none-slip matting you get on a roll for things like caravans. Cut this to fit the size of the draws and use as a draw liner. This stops the tools rattling and reduces any chance of them scratching up your nice toolbox.

Overall this is good quality, easy to manoeuvre and keeps you track day tools safe.

The quality of the products is good, the value great.
The service, however, was EXCELLENT.
The courier managed to damage one of the items - which caused me to worry about the hassle I was going to have returning the (large) item, waiting for it to be received and then a replacement sent out.
To my, very pleasant, surprise SGS (on receipt of an email with photos of the damage) sent out a replacement immediately AND arranged to pick up the damaged item - great service which minimised any hassle for me.
Based on my experience I would, unreservedly, recommend SGS.

The tailgate gas struts for our Volvo C30 are my 3rd purchase from SGS. Good quality & next day delivery at a very fair price. My previous 2 purchases of a 10T hydraulic press and 3T HD trolley jack were equally as good. Top class support and back up as well

Sgs have excelled in the service I ordered a generator late on Monday evening and it was delivered on the Wednesday the communication was spot on and the icing on the cake was they were £171 cheaper than amazon

Bought the SGS 62cc 20" Chainsaw. The delivery was excellent ordered Friday night and delivery was Tuesday afternoon. Excellent user manual in the box and online. Easily assembled and fuelled, after running it for a few minutes I retensioned the chain and was ready to go. The chainsaw cut through 8" día logs easily. Would definitely recommend both chainsaw and company. Thanks.

Excellent service again, just bought my 3rd Milwaukee tool from SGS and am looking at 4 and 5. SGS are very competitive and as they are local to Nottingham I can pop over and collect spares etc. I am hoping they will extend their Milwaukee range

After many hours of searching I was impressed by the reviews I had read of SGS. The 2-ton trolley jack and pair of stands are of excellent quality and great value. Hydraulics appear to be very sound and I look forward to many years of it holding up my MGB GT!

I was very happy with the service I received from SGS.
I purchased a number of Milwaukee tools from them and was well informed about delivery times and shipping times.
Once the item was received I found out that one of the batteries on my kit I ordered was faulty, I contacted them straight away and they arranged within 24 Hours to have the item sent back to Milwaukee and replaced/fixed.
Excellent service throughout and since ordered additional items from them and will carry on to do so.

I bought a lawn mower from them, it was a Hyndai which wasn't cheap to say the least. Anyway after 2 weeks the handle broke. So I phoned them and after several email and phone calls (2 Weeks) in which I had to chase them. They finally came to collect it. Now I still haven't received my money back from them (apparently 7 days to receive the refund). Weird as it didn't take that long to come out of my bank. But to say it was poor service, bring on Brexit when they are going to have to compete. Other providers Mowe Direct where much better in service. They were proactive, where SGS well lets just say desperate in Customer Service and I will never buy anything of them. Also to note even though I bought the Lawn Mower of them, they were awaiting Hyundai reaction to dealing with it. Please explain that my contract is with SGS not Hyundai.

Purchased a 5 in 1 multi tool (https://www.sgs-engineering.com/gpm501-52cc-five-in-one-multi-tool) in August, The product stopped working in under 2 hours from removing the unit from the box and is still non functional in my garage in October. The company only bother to reply with a standard email telling you how to start the engine which doesn't solve the problem and to say the products they sell products similar quality to Stihl what a joke then they don't reply to any communication at all. This case is now with the credit card company as you get nowhere contacting this company. This companies' customer service is possibly one of the worst I have had the misfortune to deal with. I would have rated them at 0 stars, but it wasn't available. If you want a product that doesn't work and customer service that is shocking, then buy from this company but I would avoid at all costs and find a supplier that offers better service and better quality products.

Excellent and quick service even though I needed the goods abroad.
I needed some parts for my fathers old car and found them at SGS-Engineering, I am located in Iceland and the parts shipped quickly and were cheaper than in shop here.

Thank goodness I cancelled my order. It was the courier's fault that the goods weren't ready! Again and again they told that they had sent the order again and again it didn't arrive. Four telephone calls laters still no goods, I have now gone to PayPal and got a chargeback what an unpleasant company, inefficient, unhelpful and disinterested. Someone called David threatened to 'take legal action if I put a bad review on the web' I imagine they must have disgruntled customers every day with this kind of non existent service. I have little doubt that if the goods had arrived then they would have been faulty and then I would have had to take them to the County Court! What a ghastly company!
