The absolute worst experience with a company! I closed my business on Oct. 31,2022 with my last transaction posting on November 2. I have called and emailed numerous times to cancel and Shift4 just keeps billing me month after month and sending me cancellation ticket numbers. They offer no resolution, they lie to my face and just keep billing. STAY AWAY FROM SHIFT4!
I tried to close an account that they fraudulently opened under my identity and they refused to unless I gave them my social security number, I told them I will be raising this issue with all pertinent authorities and then they hung up on me.

This company will sell you the equipment and hide fees. They won't tell you they will charge a yearly fee of 180 dollars and eveytime you call they won't fix your issue. I finally got to get a refund and I never got it, when I called back the said they decided I won't get it. They customer service is no help at all. I signed on novemember 2021 and did not get machine until april and they were still charging me that time. Do not sig uo for this company. Meridian Star is the one selling it.

This company is absloutley thr biggest scammers in thr industry. The digged into my business bank account for 4 months when I figured it out it was almost 6k.when I brought it up I'm at fault yes I was to blame for them stealing mu money 2 I never saw the 500 sign bounce. 3 I sold the business and they still billing me and I'm in collections now.suing those mofos. Run

Quite Possibly the worst POS company in the world. Never once in the three years I was forced to do business with this company did I have a positive experience.
I was a FuturePOS user and when Shift4 Purchased the company it all went bad.
Steve Pritchard (VP Sales) would simply lie to you when ever approached about something wrong. Once it got so bad I left a review and they attempted to bribe me to take the review down...
When my POSContract was finally over they kept charging me saying they changed their contracts to be auto renewing and therefore I was stuck! When I asked about being notified about this change they said I could find the information on their website?

They will keep on charging you even after you stop using their services. Poor customer service. Account managers are no good.

Shift4 took over another payment system I'd signed up for years ago and never used. I signed up for a system that charged a minimal % fee per transaction, because I do very few transactions per year. When Shift4 took over they, without my knowledge or consent, started charging me a monthly fee and did so for years before I noticed it. When I finally requested a cancellation and refund they said they can only refund the last three months. THIS COMPANY LITERALLY TOOK MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT EVERY MONTH FOR YEARS WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT AND REFUSED TO RETURN IT. THESE ARE SOME OF THE MOST UNETHICAL UNCONSCIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED.

We started with this company they process almost $1 million and they froze our money and will not give it back to us be very careful if you use this company as a vendor

Shift4 bought out our restaurants original POS system, pinnacle. We have had nothing but problems since that has happened. Our credit card machines never went down before only on rare occasions. Ever since shift4 took over they go down ever week. It went down for over a hour on Sunday. Today it was an absolute nightmare to work with this system. Every ten minutes (sometimes every 5 mins, I really wish I was joking) the screen locks saying that they are updating the system and that it's a major malfunction and some checks might be lost. It then locked us out of two checks saying the CC is busy. They ultimately erased 1400 in closed checks just to resolve this problem. The restaurant can easily do a quarter of a million ever week and to constantly have these problems with shift4 is unacceptable. Pinnacle was a way better company they should have never sold to Shift4 because the quality of product they produce now I trash. Once or twice is fine every few months but the system going down every week is bad business. I would not recommend shift4 to any company. This is coming from 30plus years in the industry.

This company has been used by my company for many years now & solely out of lack of time to build a new site is reason for staying... In general as long as you have no needs for issues that come up then the site is a basic site... But When you have a real issue that needs resolving especially when it is a glitch on their end well expect the run around and no department speaks to another and each blames the other... Also don't make the mistake of letting them be your processor to save money on the site because as soon as there is issue holy hell... even when proven to be their fault and cost you the client money they cannot possibly own the mistake and make it right... they drown you in a see of hold times, ticket numbers, well call you back within 24/48hr (aka: not at all) I am now finally having to make the change and will have to speak with litigation about recouping funds provably lost due to their system glitches
Please note I have been a client for several years so this is not taken lightly and while I am pissed at this point, this review is not written to just bash a company it is written because if I can help one person not have this frustration then I have done a good service
