I have used Shift 4 for going on 5 years. My system still does not work right - I call over and over wait on the phone for 40 minutes or more each time - the person who answers can never help you - they have to transfer you - then the person at the end still cannot help you and says they will call back - they dont - they never get you fixed completley - theres no accountability as noone can give you their names - This is a terrible company - I will be dropping them as soon as I can. DO NOT USE THEM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! - Please cue the automatic response of - talk to our chat bot to help you. Noone is trained properly - even their techs are garbage. The CEO should be ashamed.

Horrible fraud protection despite their claims to have "industry leading" protection. September 2021 I had an attempted fraudulent purchase that I easily identified the wrong ZIP code on the billing address and other details didn't look right. I declined the charge based on my discussion with Customer Service, but in October they took $309.99 from my business bank account as a "chargeback" for the sale that I was never paid for in the first place. November they said my chargeback was reversed in my favor but they were holding my money until April 2022. It's now late May 2022 and I still don't have my money. Emails go unanswered and phone calls get me empty promises. I've wasted so much time on hold and being bounced around to different departments who either transfer me somewhere else or promise to resolve the issue without actually doing anything. I'm now using Zyro for my website host and Fortis for credit card processing and couldn't be happier. I'm paying a bit more, but I'm not wasting hours of time like I had to with Shift4Shop. I recommend you avoid this company at all cost.

Get your account set up with them and you are on the hook for the life they will keep charging your business the monthly fees if you don't believe me look up all the complaints on BBB.

You can never get a hold of the right department they transfer you repeatedly, no one ever knows what department are supposed to speak to. I have been waiting for 2 months to have my equipment transferred to a new business location and I can never get a hold of the correct people. After constant emails I have been once again waiting 4 days for someone to get back to me and no response,, AND IN THE MEANTIME BEING CHARGED INACTIVE FEES that nowhere does that say in the contract. Also have been waiting since October for risk to unlock my admin account because I put the wrong password and I cannot update anything even through the online portal until they do so! No training whatsoever on the system! The first woman who did the initial set up did not speak English well could not communicate with me and knew absolutely nothing about how the system works! Also, they will not send somebody out to train you the most treating you can get is if you can get someone on the phone and they can walk you through it.

THEY DEBIT MONEY OUT OF AN OLD BANK ACCOUNT EVEN THOUGH THEY DEPOSIT MONEY INTO THE CORRECT ACCOUNT. I GET OVERDRAFT FEES EVERY MONTH BECAUSE OF THIS. BEEN TRYING TO FIX THIS FOR 11 MONTHS NOW.

I ordered a POS through Harbortouch 10-2016. Had so much trouble I exchanged it 11-2016 for a credit card machine. Because of automatic debits and no invoices or statements ever provided and I failed to audit them. I finally started asking about getting a statement last year. Only to find out they have been charging us for the POS I returned 11-30-2016 plus all the associated charges that go along with a POS every month. I was never provided with any of their monthly increase notices. They offered 1 month credit, now offer is up to $956 credit. They owe us more than $10,000. The statement has 7 pages of fees each month, no explanation of charges. I have asked repeatedly for a explanation of charges, and they dodge the question. This is not income that Shift4 has lost, it paperwork. We are a 1 location business they are taking advantage of and committing fraudulent billing. It is a great amount of income loss for us.
