I bought a upvc patio doors and Shipley arranged for the transportation. Item arrived safely, drivers very courteous and at each stage of transportation, I received regular updates. Brilliant

They are the worst company I have been used for delivery. The driver didn't turn up on the delivery date and I called asking for my deposit back and they said will pay me back but after one month I still not receive any refund then I called again and asking for a refund and the send me the cancellation form and need to fill a lot of information for the feedback. I call again and refused the fill the form to get the refund because its the driver never turn up to do the job. The lady ( Sheryl Gilbert) said; they are not our worker nothing to do with us and she will not give me a refund till I fill up the form. (I think this is a bit unfair I have to spend over 20mins my times to complete the form and get my deposit refund) I asking to speak to the Manager and she said she is the Manager and She will not give me my deposit back till I completed the Form. I am very surprised the company will treat the customer like this.

Hassle Free

Only been using this company for a few months and have found everything about it very efficient - had several large items moved which I couldn't have possibly done myself within the UK. Quotes came in very quickly and I was able to get the best price. Cant complain.

Don't be fooled

I posted two requests for car shipping on shiply and received no responses even after two weeks. I then went on their "search shipments" tab on their website and noticed similar requests for shipping from alberta to the east coast (nova scotia) had been sitting for weeks, even months, with no offers. I believe shiply posts low rates to get your deposit and then walks away. It took them over two weeks to refund my money. Waste of time.

I have posted multiple ads and have not received any offers. It's a pretty basic shipment from USA to Canada. Instead they want you to pay to promote your request so you can get quotes. I think that is a backwards way of doing business.

The scam company Shiply connected me with have stolen £200 from me, which I paid upfront to them at their request, because they'd "been messed around too many times in the past". This seemed plausible, they had all my information regarding the job and although they had some negative feedback, the recent feedback from similar jobs they completed was good. The company I went with LD Transpory, had been with Shiply for over a year and had been Verified' by them. They agreed to transport a vehicle for me but after accepting the job and taking my money, they were evasive on the date and time they could do it and the communication which followed was poor and came from various mobile numbers different to those on their Shiply contact page. I also received poorly written emails from a different email address. They would only ever text or email. They never answered any of the calls I made. On the day of collection they didn't turn up so I contacted Shiply, who told me that the transport provider LD Transport, Cumbria had had their account suspended due to complaints. This left me in a terrible position, down by £250 and with no way of collecting the car I had put a deposit down on, within the timescale agreed with the seller. I was immediately facing losing the car and my £500 deposit, and had no option but to pay for a train ticket, take 2 days holiday from work, travel for 9 hours, incur the cost of staying in a b&b 300 miles from home, and all this during the week before Christmas! I have not been able to contact the transport company and have little hope of getting my money back. My bank will try to recover the money but have said it's very unlikely. The Shiply manager' I spoke to could only offer me a £50 refund, if I filled out their claim form, and simply said "we're sorry, there's nothing we can do". Is far as I can see, they will not accept any responsibility for the actions of the companies who use their website and I cannot believe that Shiply are allowed to operate as a broker' in this manner, leaving customers high and dry when things go wrong. I will never use Shiply again and feel people should know that Shiply cannot be trusted as a transport broker... they simply do not check the companies on their website and you are taking a huge gamble with your money. Don't make the same mistake I did, use a local company, with a good reputation, who you can check out yourself.

Avoid like the plague

Needed some furniture and other items moved gave 3 dates they failed to deliver on any of them. Then when I cancelled they kept my deposit to go towards future jobs. I said I wanted my money back as i would never use them again. Still ongoing, will take them to small claims court.

I used Shiply to find a transport company to transport an antique table which had cost me £89. The freight company had quoted £73 to transport it.

The table was damaged in transit - a repair would cost £120

The transport company quoted 'Terms and Conditions' and offered £89 (the cost of the table) 'take it or leave it' and no refund of the freight cost. The damaged table is unusable - so I have been left £73 out of pocket.

The big disappointment for me is that Shiply have simply walked away - telling me that it's between me and the transport company. Clearly they do not have a service level agreement between them and their transport companies to ensure an acceptable level of customer service.

Shiply tell me that I must make a judgement based on the feedback score of the transport company involved (their clever algorithms calculate this) - in the case of this transport company 94.1%.

But what does this feedback score of 94.1% ACTUALLY mean? Does it mean that this is a great transport company company with a vast majority of satisfied customers - or does it mean that just 94.1% of the shipments get through unbroken so only 5.9% of customers go on discover that the insurance cover offered is inadequate?

Shiply - it is time for you to review your lists of 'approved' transport companies and implement a service level agreement that leaves your clients confident that they are protected if they choose a Shiply approved transport company

I needed a lamp I had ordered from Ebay to be collected, wrapped and delivered to me at a reasonable price. Most well known companies will not wrap items just collect and deliver. The company sends you details of any driver wanting your business - you pay Shiply a fee upfront and the rest is paid to the driver on the day.
The large pottery lamp was delivered smashed because the driver had allowed a member of the public onto his van who then dropped a chest of drawers on my lamp. This person did pay for the cost of the lamp, but in my shock (I had been searching for over 25years for such a lamp!) I paid the driver his fee.
Once I recovered from the shock I complained to Shiply as I wanted my money back (the driver must have been insured) but they ignored me. They then sent two emails a few weeks apart asking what I thought of their service and both times I gave a negative review and still no response.
Basically they just want your money and couldn't care less about customer service - its not as if they are not insured so cannot afford to give refunds in order to keep customers happy. If I had been given a refund I would probably have used them again as accidents happen, but as they are not interested whatsoever I will never use them again so please beware.
