Shoes has a rating of 1.5 stars from 502 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Shoes most frequently mention customer service, return policy, and credit card problems. Shoes ranks 685th among Shoes sites.
Great experience! Prices comparable to Zappos, and often have additional discounts - have ordered several pairs of shoes from this site, they ship fast, and the few times I've had to return a pair, credit always appears quickly.
Returning shoes turned out to be an ordeal, requiring HOURS on hold. It was very frustrating. Now, when I click unsubscribe, I get an error message every time. So I keep getting their ads in my email. I will never use this site again
Have been waiting a week and product still hasn't shipped. Asked if I could cancel the order and said they would charge a restocking fee. Will probably never order from again
I have been shopping with ShoeBuy since I bought my wedding day shoes in 2007. The biggest appeal of the website was always the large selection and free shipping and returns. The experiences were always positive until this week. I ordered winter coats and snow boots in various sizes and styles with the intention of returning the unwanted products, just as I have always done. I go online today to print my return labels easy easy like always and much to my surprise I see the almost $7 restocking fee per item. As a long time customer I feel deceived, as the company does not warn of the fee prior to purchase. I can understand that companies sometimes need to make changes to their practices and policies, however the way in which ShoeBuy has done it feels shady. Long time customers kept coming back because of the selection and the former return policy, but based on the newest reviews it seems like that's going to change. I will never use this website again, I will never recommend it to anyone again, and I have to spread the word to my family and friends I turned on to this site to shop elsewhere. I did contact customer service directly, the woman I spoke with was friendly and understanding (Tania), but ultimately skirt around the issue. Now I'm stuck with $28 in fees, about what I "saved" during their "sale".
We would like to thank this customer for shopping with us and we appreciate her feedback about the return policy. On July 16th, 2015 our site was updated to show the new policy to make sure customers would know in advance. Our homepage says “free shipping + free exchanges” and the entire policy is listed under the Returns section of our Help page. The new policy went into effect on August 1,2015, and all purchases made on August 1,2015 or after are subject to our new return policy. Our policy enables our customers to choose from any items in our inventory until we find an item they’ll love – more than a million items – whether that’s a different shoe or perhaps a bag or coat. In the event they prefer not to exchange for a new item, there is a restocking fee.
Customer service is very poor, and you can almost see them setting a timer when they go to talk to their supervisor and come back on to say they can't help. I wanted to exchange a Chaco for a different size. They have both the size I need and the size I have, so they have not lost any sales due to my having a shoe since late October which I purchased for a Christmas gift. They have a 60 day return policy which I didn't realize and is much less than most places. I had the shoes for 66 days. Their Holiday return policy is 90 days but starts on November 1. I offered to pay shipping both ways, Still nothing. Then they offered me a $5 credit which would have brought the wrong size sandals down to $72. It it's me I make a concession for the customer and do an even exchange rather than lose their business which they can see has been frequent. I would rather pay more at Zappos than ever deal with this company again. Apparently they don't publish their poor reviews, so their 4.5 star rating is fraudulent.
I think this company is fine if you know exactly what shoe you want and that it will fit. I bought two pairs of shoes - a pair of running sneakers that were the same company and size that I already owned, so I was sure they would fit. They came quickly and were great. The other pair I bought was some booties. When I first tried them on, they fit ok, so I wore them to my office where I sit at a computer most of the day. By the time I got to work, they were already hurting my feet, so when I got home I decided I'd return them. They told me they wouldn't take them back because they already had a small amount of wear in the short time I wore them. They also said I could try to return them but there'd be a restocking fee, so if they rejected them, I'd be out even more money. I guess these are going to Good Will. Hopefully someone else will find them more comfortable than I did. I'm disappointed in this return policy, especially since it's an online store so there's no option to try them on before buying. They do have a discount for teachers which I appreciated.
I never write negative reviews but I just HAD to get my opinion out there on this one. I am so disappointed the cozyboots.com return policy and customer service. After ordering some uggs in the smaller size that their website recommends I tried them on at home and realized they were way too small and painful to wear so I promptly sent them back only to get them returned 3 weeks later with a note stating they could not be exchanged for another size because they were worn. I called to explain that they were not "worn" but only tried on to determine the fit at home. After calling multiple times, waiting on hold for long periods of time, being "promised" a call back from the supervisor, then finally the manager I was treated EXTREMELY rudely by Laurie (manager) who was completely unhelpful. I thought paying nearly $200 for a pair of boots would get me some sort of customer satisfaction but clearly there is none. I am now stuck with boots that are too small. I will NEVER use cozyboots.com or it's sister-site shoebuy.com! They are horrible! I will only make my future purchases at retail stores that offer reasonable return policies, not fake ones!
Told me returns were possible but shoes ran larger than usual and they refused my return even though I was told by phone that it shouldn't be a problem. Bye Bye Shoebuy!
Hi Jack! We're very sorry to hear your return was rejected! We process a high volume of returns daily but we do have a return policy and cannot accept all returns. You can view our return policy under the HELP button and any phone representative should be able to provide you with more information about why your return was rejected.
I was a very loyal Shoebuy customer for many years. Last year I needed a pair of shoes for a specific event, so I ordered a few pair to see which would work best... one pair, the most expensive, looked as if they had been returned by someone else, but I ignored that fact and tried them on. They were too tight so I put them in the box to return them. Thought i had a year, so when I finally got around to returning them, I thought i missed the boat and put them on, thinking i could stretch them... but when I went to a mirror to really look, I noticed a defect that looked ridiculous and really bugged me. There was no way I was paying $100 for these shoes! So I called and sent them back at my own expense. They had the unmitigated audacity to send me an email accusing me of wEARING them and would not accept the return.
Any company that is willing to call a loyal customer who has spent at least a grand on their site a liar is not worthy of anyone's business. I will NEVER, repeat NeVER give them my business again. Wish i could show you a picture of these shoes!
I had returned a pair of shoes to the address on the invoice in the box that came with the shoes, for which I paid the shipping.
After confirming they were delivered via tracking #, but I received no refund, I pulled out a copy of the invoice to call the number to inquire. That's when I 1st learned the company that shipped the shoes to me, put someone else's invoice from a different store, a different shoe, and DIFFERENT ADDRESS into my box. Who then had MY invoice? So I called Shoe.com hoping they would help to resolve the issue, which was no fault of mine. I spoke with a supervisor who basically said, "well, there's nothing we can do about our shipper giving you the wrong invoice with your shoes, you'll have to call the company where the shoes were delivered and get them back". Terrible service in my opinion. After I finally tracked them down to the company they were inadvertently sent to, (they were wonderful) sent me back my shoes, I sent him back to shoes.com who say they have "free returns" charged me a $7 "restocking fee". I buy everything online from reputable sites. I will no longer shop at shoes.com.
I was searching for a specific shoe for a trip and found it on sale at shoes.com aka shoebuy.com. When I clicked on it, it took me to their site but would not give me the sales price. I called their customer service, explained the issue, emailed a screen shot of the advertised sales price to them, was placed on hold forever and then disconnected... of course. I called back and amazingly got the same rep. He said he could not find the ad on his Google search and could not give me the sale price. I opened a new tab, did the same Google search and now the ad was gone... hmmm. I asked for a manager. On hold forever again. When she finally picked up, she told me there was not an ad at that price and would not acknowledge the screen print I emailed them and the previous rep said he received. So, because they obviously removed the ad after hanging up on me, acted like it never existed in the first place, refused to honor the advertised price nor offered an ounce of compensation, I am writing this bad review. The price difference was $20. A bad review will cost them far more than that... Economics 101. A little good will would have gone a long day.
I WOULD STAY AWAY! THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY UNETHICAL!
They do not ship on the same day and they sent me the wrong boots too. I got black boots with black fur instead of white fur. I decided not to return since I really needed the boots for the snow, but they never posted my review about their mistake! I agree that they only post positive reviews which is misleading customers about their service. STAY AWAY!
DO NOT BUY FROM OUTLET TO BUY. The site may be a legitimate website offering low prices but the owners are completely dodgy. It is a SCAM. I ordered shoes two months ago - never arrived. Was even given tracking number but australia post never heard of it. Was then promised a refund minus the postage costs NEVER happened and now they won't return emails. Now trying to get help through DFT and VISA
I agree 100% with other customers - I was a longstanding customer. Did not realize they changed their policy with respect to returns. Yes, now I see that it is on their webpage - but I was not looking at it when I ordered because I had been dealing with them for such a long time. I had ordered 5 separate items, two of which were in one box but they would not waive the "restocking" fee on anything!
To make matters worse:
(1) It took over an hour on hold to speak with a representative during business hours;
(2) It was impossible to get a return shipping label online - because their emails did not contain the correct link; and,
(3) When I tried to obtain a return label online one of the representatives wanted me to spell out ( yes, that's right) each shoe name - which took absolutely forever.
There are too many other online options that do not charge return shipping. There is no reason for me to shop at Shoebuy anymore. They do not care about customer good will and certainly are trying to make a quick buck by the restocking policy. I hope they go out of business and soon.
The old Shoebuy was a pleasure to do business with. I have no idea if there are new owners, but something surely has changed.
Hello Shiela. We're very sorry to hear that we have disappointed you with our new policy that focuses on exchanges. We still offer free exchanges to our customers because we are sure we can find the right match for anyone.
We would also like to apologize for the long hold time you experienced. We have been experiencing an unusually high call volume but you should not have had to wait for that long.
Thank you for your feedback about our return policy as customer feedback is very important to us. We appreciate you taking the time to write your review.
I ordered a pair of shoes from shoes.com on June 13th, 2017.
They arrived on June 19th, 2017.
The shoes were too narrow for me.
(They were a size wide, but apparently I need a wider size for this type of shoe.)
At any rate, I decided to return the shoes... but time slipped away.
When I went online (June 15th) to get the return label printed the web-site wouldn't let me do it.
So I wrote customer service.
I knew their return policy was 60 days... and it was June 15th - before the 60 days...
But it turns out it is 60 days from the order - not from receiving the shoes.
This seems pretty unfair to me and I certainly won't be ordering from them again.
Customer service would not make an exception and had the nerve to be pleased to serve me in the future. That won't happen.
I ordered some shoes but they shipped them in 2 separate package. Because I am using shipping forwarder company. And I have to pay for the repack service.
I have ordered several times from them. Lowest prices on Sperry and Vans I could find. Orders arrived timely and as requested. Yes, they charge a restocking fee, but so does LLBean and others.
Hi Paul! Thank you so much for your feedback! We always try to provide excellent customer service and it really makes our day when out customers let us know we have hit that mark. :)
PLACED AN ORDER, MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED, AFTER 4 EMAILS REQUESTING A TRACKING ORDER AND NO REPONSE, I WILL BE TURNING IT OVER TO THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND EVERY OTHER LEGAL AGENCY WHO WILL TAKE MY COMPLAINT
Hello Jane - We are sorry to hear of the experience you have had thus far and we would like to look into this further. You are welcome to call our customer service team too free at 1-888-200-8414 to speak directly to a representative or send an email to socialsupport@shoebuy.com with your order number. Thank you.
I accidentally shipped my boots to my parents' house and, after realizing this, I emailed customer care asking if I could reroute them to my apartment. They called me the next day saying that they emailed and got confirmation from US that my packaget was rerouted. They also said that if I didn't receive my package by that Friday that I should alert them immediately and they would investigate it. They were very professional and quick to answere and correct my mistake- very pleased with my boots as well!
Hi Ceili,
Thank you so much for the review. We are delighted to hear that our customer service agents could provide you with good service and get your package re-routed. We appreciate you sharing your positive experience and we are glad to hear the boots are what you wanted :) Please feel free to reach out if you need anything else.
Kind Regards,
The Shoes.com Team.
Found the boots that I wanted & shoes.com seemed to have the best price. I took the risk and ordered them. After I had ordered them I went to do a little research about the website and found ALOT of bad reviews on them. It made me pretty nervous because others were stating it took long to get, they got wrong shoes, or wrong sizes, or item was not as described. So I started checking my order everyday! I placed my order on Friday. Website states that they will notify you within 1-5 business days when order is completed and ship. I checked it everyday and it just says "processing". Then On Tuesday I received a noticed that my order has been shipped. It was literally delivered to my door step by Thursday evening. The boots are legit, I compared it to another one that I bought at the store but in a different color. Everything matches up.
All in All thank goodness my experience with them was nothing but good.
However I Can't help but think what if my NEXT order experience ends up like everyone else's.
I am a long time customer of Shoebuy.com. I just purchased two pairs of shoes, but never received an email confirming the order nor does the order show up under my account online. The shoes did not fit and I needed to return them. I attempted to contact Shoebuy.com by phone last Friday, but hung up after 30 minutes of wait time on the phone. Instead, I emailed the same day. 2 days later, I had not received a response so I emailed again. Still no response a day later, so I called and waited the 40 minutes for someone to get to the phone. I was then informed of the policy changed and the $6.95 per shoe restocking fee. I was told to avoid the restocking fees, I could exchange the items. The problem with that is that since I paid on Paypal, I could not just exchange the items but was told I would need to go online, purchase the items and then call Shoebuy.com to have them credit it once I returned the other items. The last thing I plan to do with this company is put another $300 on my Paypal account. Who knows what new policy they are now hiding that will enable them to keep more of my money. The service agent and supervisor were extremely rude and unhelpful. I wished them both the best of luck as a business that does business this way is sure to go out of business and they will soon be out of work. All in all, a terrible experience!
Hello Karen! I am very sorry for any difficulty you had with our customer service.
Our policies and procedures are listed clearly under the "HELP" tab at the top of our webpage.
Exchanges are 100% free and you can exchange for any item on our website! (Over 130,000 unique items at this moment.)
We can process exchanges for PayPal directly through our website or manually if you prefer.
Again we sincerely apologize for any trouble you had contacting our customer service line.
I just got a taste of Shoebuy's abysmal customer service. I explained to a manager that I intended to exchange the shoes I ordered for a different size -- which Shoebuy did NOT have in stock -- and he told me to "find another item" if I wanted to avoid the restocking fee! So BUYER BEWARE. YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES WITH SHOEBUY'S "NEW" POLICY: GET STUCK WITH (AND PAY FOR) THE ITEMS YOU DON'T WANT, OR PAY $6.95 PER ITEM FOR THE "PRIVILEGE" OF TRYING THEM ON AND RETURNING THEM FOR A REFUND. Shoebuy, you have lost a customer who has been with you for over 10 years. And by the way, I found the size I needed on Amazon for 40% less AND FREE SHIPPING AND FREE RETURNS.
Tip for consumers:
Don't order from Shoebuy unless you intend to buy from them. Otherwise, they will charge you $6.95 for every item you return.
Hello Du! We are very sorry to hear that the item you wanted was out of stock. Our exchanges are still 100% free and we have over 130,000 unique items. We are always happy to exchange for any item that is in stock.
We do thank you for your feedback and we are sincerely sorry that our return policy has disappointed you.
Do your research before you buy from this company--it has a terrible online reputation. Alas, I didn't do my research. When my order finally arrived, shoes were the wrong brand, wrong size, and wrong color. Called customer service, got my return ticket and was told they would wave the restocking fee, and refund my money when they received the shoes. Two weeks later and I am still waiting. The only way to get the shoes I want (and they are the only ones to at least claim they carry them) was to reorder. Order #2 came--wrong brand, wrong size, wrong color. Same drill--return the shoes and wait for a refund. A month after my initial purchase, the company has nearly $200 of my money and I still have no shoes. Customer service rep didn't seem at all surprised by the above problems and offered me the same 30% sale price on the shoes that is currently advertised on their web site should I be foolish enough to order for a 3rd time. When I finally did my consumer research on the company, I learned that my experience with this company was pretty much par for the course. Buyer beware.
If it looks too good to be true it is. Seller offered for sale a pair of shoes. The email receipt said "cat stickers" and I was unable to cancel the paypal transaction and had to file a dispute.
I received the super cute Rocket Dog Jolissa Buckle shoes very quickly, but they are too big. So, I went online to request the shipping label for the return to make an exchange for a half size smaller. Nothing was ever sent to me. I checked my spam and trash, still nothing! I called in to get a return label sent to me and they have incredibly long wait times on the phone. Their automated message says to go online for faster service, but when you click returns online, the website times out! How convenient. However, the same website instantaneously takes you to multiple pages for purchasing. That's not a coincidence. I have tried multiple times to get a return initiated with zero results. There is one upside. I read from other dissatisfied customers that when they return the shoes, they never get credited the money they spent there. At least I still have a pair of shoes that I MIGHT be able to resell. I will never purchase from this company again! Just because it's on Pinterest doesn't mean that it is a reputable company!
Was a loyal shopper of shoebuy until i had to call customer service. Very unprofessional. The operator (janee) wanted to argue with me. Sorry shoebuy... i will take my money elsewhere.
Poor costumer service & disinformation. - I ordered a pair of shoes and they told me that i would recieve my order with in 10 days of reciept of the order. After 10 days i had still not heard anything from them. I contacted customer service and they said that my order had already been shipped, finally on day 14 i got a email saying that my order had been shipped that day and this is day 17 and still havent recieved any shoes. This website SUCKS!
