The only redeeming feature of this online forum is the solid backbone of veterans from EP. Without their input and participation, SW would be nothing. Many refugees from EP have left. The admin(s) are of poor quality. Gangs of bullies travel this site causing mayhem and are allowed to cause trouble. The ongoing influx from other sites means a younger crowd who mostly is depressed and afraid and wanting attention with relationship problems. Quality postings are few. This site continues to deteriorate. It is like the lesser baby brother of a glorious star, EP. I spend time on SW only to see my friends and chat in pms with them. Limit your time here. You have a better life offline. Complaints are ignored. People are falsely accused of wrongdoings. Warnings are placed on profiles often incorrectly. That is all. PoetryNEmotion. 2024-01-04.

SimilarWorlds, a recreation of the old site Experience Project, brings together just anyone from anywhere. I've never met such a cosmopolitan group of users with people from all walks of life, political viewpoints, and parts of the world. It can be a weird place to get into but so many users are amazing people.

SW also has amazing community and administrator policing of exploitative content. The problem exists as it does on all social media, but people really band together to stop bad actors from hurting people. I've been there for years and hope it lasts for so much longer.

I found Similar Worlds after "Yahoo! Answers" shut down. It's a much smaller community, so you get to know everyone well. It's a fun environment to hang out, chat, and laugh.

There are some poor reviews on here, but no site is perfect. There's always going to be a few bad people, no matter where you go.

It's good to have a sense of humor and not take anything or anyone too seriously.

This site has NO standard of fairness or enforcement of moderation.

For example:

I received threats from a user over her many multiple accounts, and because she and her various cohorts are fairly popular...

When I grew tired of being harassed and reported it. Guess what.

Admin turned it around. Defended them. Ignored my evidence and promptly banned me. Without question.

Apparently she's someone's favorite daughter or girlfriend. When it's like that...

Decent users don't stand a chance.

This website is possibly being run by amateurs with no customer service acumen.
I reported abuse of another site user and received I rather rude response from an administrator. No action was taken against the member...

You will quickly see on signing up it resembles a school playground.

Having joined in June 2017 I have had nothing but a positive experience here.
I interact with many people worldwide which I find amazing, being a sort or hermit. My experience is only positive because I completely ignore those who attempt to ruin my time there.
By not responding to to those negative people at all then one is left alone to share wonderful experiences of life.
There are games to play, music to listen to, one can run quizzes and give gifts as prizes. You can follow members, have special friends, give advice, lament your life's experiences if that is your want.
Me? I truly love being able to post my wildlife pictures of Australia's animals, places, Sunsets etc.
To share my adventures(with pictures), my latest being a Hot Air Balloon Ride out of Northam.
Similar worlds is one of two Social Networks Sites I am a member of and I give it top marks.

This is an amazing site where you can give or receive support as well as make posts, comment on those posts or share private messages. You can happily surf the site too. It's under constant development and whilst not perfect so many here would miss it deeply.
Like the real world and the internet in general there are strange or obnoxious people but also decent and caring people.

Don't be surprised if you find this site to be an unfamiliar world to you if you're normal.
You will like it if you like shallow conversation discussing your latest mental state. Depression is an often high point of discussion. Sexual perversions get good responses. Naked boobies pics are a highlight on Tuesdays.
If you like sitting at a bar drowning your sorrows away you'll have multiple chances for shallow conversations with the sad sacks sitting with you.
If you choose to open up and expand a conversation with a person from another country you'll probably be cut down openly by a wanna be expert that sits proudly amongst their participation trophy's from the high school debate team.
Low membership #'s will leave you talking with the same group of board house wives if you're into that.

Though no one seems to remember the original similarworlds.com was experienceproject.net. Regardless, What is encompassed by the free exchange of experiences, instead of filled with dramatic responses, is asked as a question(s). The "poignant Question" If you will?.

It's the only social media I like using. I started here aged 13 and now I'm 20. People open their hearts here. They are family. Not nice people join but Similar Worlds sorts them out very quickly. You only have to send a message to the organizers. They want to keep this site family friendly. They seem to be there 24/7 ready to leap in to protect you.

Whoever said that those bad reviews of this cesspool are dishonest has no idea what they're talking about.

SimilarWorlds is absolute garbage. It is full of overly aggressive users and admins and mods who defend them at any cost. Before I left this horrible website I had several friends banned from there just because they got in arguments and fights with some of the admins's favorite users, who seem to constantly be in contact.
There's a huge mob mentality on this website... oh and a lot of diaper fetishes.

Similarworlds offers an open platform for social interation for people over 18. As with any open forum there is some misuse. The site is self regulating with a responsive admin staff should inappropriate content or behavior be reported. I have had the opportunity to interact with intelligent, humorous thought provoking people from all over the planet. There are mechanisms in place to block interactions if they are undesirable. It is what you make it! I find it enjoyable and light hearted. It is addictive but that's my problem not the sites. Like all things socially interactive you are empowered to watch it, read it, or switch it off. It's one if the better sites out there that I've seen..

I was on there during the beginning and last month after I deleted my account there. My first take on this is very depressing how many users act on there.

I don't like the fact that many latest lame EP members are there and only few good ones. To top it off with the same pedos. Same $#*!heads. Same Fake profiles and it seems like everybody gave up life and continue to complain about same old Blocking Drama as well. It never gets old to them because their life is nothing more than Mentally ill Patients who have nothing better to do or nothing better to post. Bunch of anti social $#*! roaches and they deserve to stay on this hell hole for the sake of this world. To escape from reality to Hell. I'm glad I deleted my account. Wish EP is back though without the stupid APP

The community on SW are fake pretentious and shallow at best. Rude spiteful and perverted at worst. This is the worst online community Ive joined and I regret joining. It is a very weak imitation of the original EP. Worst part is you cannot just delete your profile. You have to ask admin first! And they take forever to.

If you are looking for geniune support and empathy dont waste your time on this site.

Admins and moderators on this site deletes your content simply if they feel like it. It's not run by professionals following rules, but rather they make up the rules as they go along.

My comments were deleted by one of the founders of the website for referring to him banning the use of the phrase "ad-blocker". Apparently you're not allowed to talk about the words they ban, nor "ad-blocker".

Commenting on their decision to delete my harmless comment then resulted in a warning on my account reading:

"Reason: Perpetuating personal arguments publicly.
How to fix: Stop re-posting conversations via screenshots, text or links, and avoid mentioning the usernames of others in a negative context. If you have an issue with other users, please either Block them from contacting you, use the Report Abuse button, or report to local authorities if necessary."

DO NOT go on this website before you read this! So I was just needing another site to share my experiences, and I was asking my questions about why and how I'm curious about something. Guess what?! They were attacking me for being the "s" word! Even the admins and mods are doing their job the wrong way! Be careful when you sign up for this pred prone website! People there are fake! All they do on their profile pages for examples is lie about their "g" word, put false pictures that are not theirs and write up creepy messages when I never asked for them! What can I say about this site? Sure, it was a great place to go when experience project left us to dry. I thought this site would be great but turns out that it is very terrible. The admins are very biased, very unprofessional, they play favourites and ban those that didn't do anything wrong because of a poor spam system that bans you. The service of customer support is non existent like the users sex life. The amount of filth that you end up reading makes you wonder how lacking humanity is and that if a alien race ever came to this planet and thought "Hmm. Should we allow them to live?" Dear god, I would hijack their ship and blow the planet up myself. All I can say is... BRING BACK EXPERIENCE PROJECT!

When I got a warning I didn't know why. They didn't tell me what it was for. There was a warning on my profile for everyone to see. I e-mailed and asked why, and no one replied. I didn't break the rules, so I was confused.

It used to be for members of experience project but the got kicked to the curb adms admin nuno and Andrew deleted and deactivated all there personal groups. They could care less what there members want and just do it there way. Many e pets have left. Many just leave after a few days. If u have autism u are picked on Dailey. Only reason I'm there is I have friends there. I wish someone would start a good social media site

A year ago I was so pleased with this site. I had a problem being harassed and Nuno dealt with it so effectively.
Now this place seems to be crawling with jealous and petty people whose aim seems to be to pick on the users deemed to be popular, and proceed to harass them. And inspite of there being moderators, there seems to be not much moderating going on because these people seem to get away with just a light tap on the back of their hand in the name of ToS breach.
It is no wonder, its going down so fast and it is getting hard to find much of quality any more.
A shame, when a contributing and active member is treated this way.

Although I miss EP and the friends I had there, SW does suit me in some ways. Yes there are trolls n negativity on their like any site, I BLOCK or report them. There have been decent people whom have helped when I needed answers or opinions on certain things.

I have a suggestion for Similar Worlds: How about allowing posters to lock their posts from comments?

Some posters are abusive, and this would allow their targets to stop them.

I've made a lot of great friends there.

There are lots of kind, interesting people on this site,
But yes, a number of trolls as well.

The Admins do seem to handle them fast enough though.
It looks like most of those bad users who got permanently banned. Cam over here to leave fake reviews about similar worlds!
