SimilarWorlds, a recreation of the old site Experience Project, brings together just anyone from anywhere. I've never met such a cosmopolitan group of users with people from all walks of life, political viewpoints, and parts of the world. It can be a weird place to get into but so many users are amazing people. SW also has amazing community and administrator policing of exploitative content. The problem exists as it does on all social media, but people really band together to stop bad actors from hurting people. I've been there for years and hope it lasts for so much longer.
I got put onto Similarworlds by a friend on Reddit. Apart was very littler replies to my questions the thing that put me off was Gangs. It has 2 main groups of users that think it funny to abuse or report very small mistakes in your question. Also, when someone from a group/gang steps off the line with abuse, it's a waste of time reported it. The Moderators have favorite users it seems, those gang members can do what they want with NO action taken against them by the moderators. It's just not a fair place I out in the 10 months I used it. Needs a big change of moderation thinking to allow honest users a fair go.
No social media site does it better. It flows 24x7. You can endlessly expess yourself, while at the same time systemicly ignoring those you do not want to read.
Everybodys experience is unique
Not a site for those wanting to torment
A good site for those inquisitive about others
An excellent site for expression and healing
Ideal to find a friend at 2 AM
Tip for consumers:
Keep your sense of humor
Preserve your anonymity
The site is NOT Facebook
A Friendly-oriented Website. You are free to share without offending anyone. The idea is to keep it decent and in order. The organizers manage this quite well.
Similar worlds
It's a good place to go and talk to people with things going on in there life's just like you are going through. Sure you have to dig through the trash but you might just find some treasures along the way. You can block people from talking to you if you want to. Every site has its strange areas and similar worlds is no different. There are trolls and smart mouthed folks to like any place else. The ads get to be a bit much at times but it is my own fault for being cheap lol I've only had one problem since I been here and it was dealt with swiftly. I hear people complain about getting unwanted pictures and comments but I been here since it came in to being and never received any nude pics, a couple of unwanted comments but nothing to cry over, in my opinion this site is as good if not better than most, especially those that have so much drama on them.
That's my opinion on similar worlds take or leave it but don't blame me if you go to a site that's a living nightmare
Justice for all
The site itself isnt the problem. Its the people on it. They are miserably dry, boring af, dont care anything about you and cant stand any kind of fun.
Great way to meet people and interact anonymously. It's easily the best successor to the Experience Project that I've found so far. I only wish it had a mobile app the way EP did.
While there was once a sense of hope, that SW would evolve, sadly, it has followed the demise of its predecessors.
Writers have abandoned the site enmasse, leaving the feed with just sadness and occasional dramas.
The site abandoned efforts to preserve the individuality of members. This included eliminating the EP inspired features that use to support many with depression and mental health issues.
Currently it appears to be downsizing to something akin to an aimless social blog.
It has some interesting design aspects and lots of troublesome content.
While originally habit forming, the designer has drifted the site towards a highly locked down european centric paradigm, lacking an essence of the american experience.
This leads to a high turnover of new members and alienation of existing members.
Membership growth appears stalled, with an obvious long-term trend to less serious writing and reduced interaction.
Wall Street should eye this venture cautiously.
New members should dabble, test it and follow their interest.
If you are seeking friendships, romance, humor, alternative points of view and discussion... this is not the place.
Recent design changes have made the site lame.
Overall, I recommend avoiding it altogether.
Tip for consumers:
Site is good for people to test. Just not what it was advettised as.
Facebook is too public and serious. Similar Words is a great alternative if you just want to have brief chats on topics that your friends aren't going to share.
If you are looking for people who may have answers and wisdom that you are seeking, give this site a try. You will also find people just like you... and people like me.
It's the only site of it's kind really. But it is no Experience Project. It's been in decline for while. Admin are great, no complaint there. The problems are user base.
Where to start -
Older or middle aged adults who act like they never left middle school. Some kindergarten. The arguments, accusations, name calling and dramatic over sharing to name a few. Tiny mole hills made into mountains of drama. Who did what and when, who blocked or bullied or stalked and on and on. How do they even handle REAL life crisis? Victim mentality is high. But you never hear the other side of it.
Then the other extreme is toxic positivity or a few, who go around with over sweet flattery and "kindness" like a passive aggressive narcissist trying hard to be liked, lolz. It oozes fake. Then the prima donnas - with the "I deserve" mentality.
Then there are the sex starved where the minds are stuck in a deep rut of titties or other body parts. Objectification of women is extreme. So boring.
Mental and emotional illness is at an all time high.
Sure there are few decent peeps and some writers keep the place attractive. But many are leaving. If there were more mature users and substance the site could be really good! Don't know how to get them there.
This is a great website to meet people. There is so much fun ideas and discussions that are shared by members. The managing team are doing a great job in keeping the site safe and friendly.
A fun place to just have fun and meet some good people... and although they have a few troublemakers like every social forum out there, they have an A+ moderators who act swiftly when trouble arises
In SW, i find peace, it is my favorite corner in the internet. There, i can share my ideas with people have the same interests, i can ask questions and get instant answers, i really love this website
Trolls, underage kids, tons of fake accounts, pervs, pedos, narcissists, scammers, feminazis, racists, people who act like teenagers in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, depressed people who want to kill themselves... you approach this site with a positive attitude, leave feeling angry, offended and disturbed. Spend a month on it, you will become bitter and unfriendly towards others online and offline as well. If this sounds like something you fancy, join today
I used to be a member of EP and I remember it as a place to vent and be yourself (kinks, fetishes, whatever you wanted to post about really). It's become a watered down site full of crybaby whiners who get offended easily and judge others for what they're into. There's a gang of women (and some whimpering simps as well) that mass report you and have you banned if they don't like you or find what they deem "offensive". They'll gang up on you and all their little friends will follow suit until you either leave or are banned from the site. If you want a place where idiots post selfies constantly, political posts run rampant, there are hundreds of simps kissing $#*!, women posting pics of cats and coffee or cry about their past abuse and you have people there offering fake love and support, can't post anything on your mind or that you're into even if it's mildly taboo or you'll get attacked by the gang of condescending women who'll have white knight idiots run to their defense, you're pretty much stuck having to be a kiss $#*!, a boring $#*! who posts about music, food, or how cute puppies are, yeah that place is for boring basic people with no concept of true individuality. You won't fit in unless (as I stated before) you kiss the more popular users asses. If you don't you'll be bullied and admin won't do anything about it. If you defend yourself you'll get banned. Save yourself the aggravation and find a place with more open minded people, not that boring super restricted $#*!hole those stuck up, uptight women made it
I had been on SW for 6 years and constantly harassed by a group of scammers that scammed me out of some money years earlier. They followed me there after my bank helped me get most of it back. They began ripping my account apart by deleting photos and my best stories. I've been hacked by them for years. When I finally decided to expose them to the community and administration * jumped on saying nothing was happening!? I was shocked and surprised by his hurtful comment. Earlier I had sent him names of these hackers, but he never responded. I hung in there for another year or so untill my account was ruined by them, so I at last left. You will also lose your counter views if you complain, they will all slow way down. The counter views should be eliminated because they pit users against each other, lots of jealousy over that feature. You also have to pay for blocking after a certain amount last I was there. I left almost a year ago after being bullied and data removed. I recommend going to sites where your data can't be removed, AND where you'll be treated with better respect than I was. I'm much happier since leaving.

Tip for consumers:
My review I just posted was about Similar Worlds social media website. Sorry I wasn't clear, I may have just wrote SW.
At least they have actual moderators that moderate, there are weirdos here but there are weirdos everywhere you turn on the net, at least you can block them here. Alot of great, fun people
It's easy to express yourself on SW and receive supportive feedback. I was a member of Experience Project before it shut down and I have enjoyed SW as it's replacement.
Informal, friendly banter. There lots of different topics to discuss.
No matter where you live around the globe. You can join in day or night.
Most men are into sexual talk, rude language from the majority including women. No way to be protected from insults and wrong doings...
I enjoy interacting with others on this site. You get to meet and chat with lots of friendly people who share similar ideas as you do.
Continuous, relevant updates that, in my opinion, improve the site and streamline purposes.
Features encourage friendliness and understanding.
I think similar worlds is great to learn about others and share things that are inspiring to us. I like reading all the stories.
While slightly offensive nonsense is tolerated the moderators on SW permit the free exercise of opinions and they never impose their authority on participants who maintain reasonable positions. The board is widely versatile and is very well maintained. The negative reviews I've been reading are assuredly written by left-wingers who cannot tolerate the level of freedom of expression permitted by SW Administrators.
I'm a member of multiple discussion/politics forums including World Discussion Forum and Historum.com (both of which are excellent), and I've been ousted from one Christian Politics forum and one World Politics Forum, but as of yet have not been banned from Similar Worlds (SW) as "MyParentsAreProud" (though I have received a few warnings --- but hey who hasn't on the anarchistic World Wide Web?). It really has something... for everyone. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for multi-faceted pedestrian/professional perspectives on all kinds of modern issues relevant to American society and global culture (commerce, celebrity, culinary arts, whatever).
The only drawback is that the opinions are strong, so be prepared to be shunned and/or criticized shrewdly about the intentions/intelligibility of your comments by Neo Leftists.
SW deserves some kudos/honors for those responsible for organizing/coordinating/choreographing it. There's even fun sections for those looking to blither and offer gibberish about why Trump is not Jesus.
This app seems to work alright but it has a tendency to crash when posting a story or comment. Otherwise it's easy to use and fun
My first review was on another site. And the owners of Similar Worlds flagged it, for "violating" the guidelines of that review site. Which is nonsense. I stated nothing but facts as to what they did. They're just mad because I wouldn't delete it. Why would I delete my review when it's TRUE? There were reviews much worse than mine on that site, but they flagged mine. Hmmmm. And I hope the owners of that particular review site are not being paid off to hide and/or remove reviews. Because then they would be breaking their own rules.
The Similar Worlds admins accused me of "creating multiple accounts", "violating terms of service", and "defaming" them.
Now I don't know who they've dealt with before, but I refuse to be silenced because they're tying me to something I have nothing to do with. And because of that, I will be reaching out to more people to find out what's really going on.
UPDATE: I wake up to an email from Trustpilot, telling me they've removed my review because they found it to be "suspicious". As you can see in the picture provided below. Smh. At this point, I'm encouraging EVERYONE to speak up about the negativity they've experienced on Trustpilot. Write as much negative reviews as possible. Because by the looks of it, the admins seem to be hellbent on keeping a "great" rating over there. All of that needs to change. THEY NEED TO BE TAKEN DOWN ONCE AND FOR ALL!
Tip for consumers:
FLAG SIMILAR WORLDS ON TRUSTPILOT! Post as many negative reviews as possible! Don't let them get away with it!
Relate, Share and Bond with others who experience Similar Worlds to you.
