SkipTheDishes has a rating of 1.0 stars from 998 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about SkipTheDishes most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and wrong address problems. SkipTheDishes ranks 194th among Food Delivery sites.
Many vendors provided stale food and when Skip was advised they did not care to address the issue or refund the money. There are limits to their refund, despite the driver or the restaurant being at fault. Why should the customer lose? Buyer beware.
I had a promo for $20 off one order. When I tried to place an order, the promo code would not show up. After placing the order, customer service said they'd only give me $20 CREDIT rather than $20 REFUND, and said I'd have to place another order to use said credit. Such a slimy, dishonest way to make people place TWO orders in order to get the $20 instead of just allowing them to use it on the first order, as the promo advertised. Deleting the app and never using this crap company again, too shady for my liking.
There was a food safety issue with my order. But there is no proper response from the customer service executive.
These guys gave me a 5 dollar credit because they charged me for a 25 dollar meal and then when the driver could not find my house he kept the food. Such a joke, I uninstalled the app and stayed with Uber Eats. They don't have Wendy's so months later I installed the app again, tried to use the 5 bucks and they said my account was flagged. I guess they hate customers that pay for food they never actually get. I didn't even contest it but I will certainly be getting my refund from the Credit card company!
YOUR CC COMPANY WILL ALWAYS GIVE YOU THE MONEY BACK FOR PRODUCT UNDELIVERD.
IT DOESNT LOOK GOOD ON SKIP IF WE ALL COMPLAIN TO GET OU MONEY BACK!
Lastly, guess which company now gets their business cards displayed at my business and guess which one is now in garbage? Hint the cards being displayed start with UBER EATS.
Well done guys ya got my 5 bucks, LMAO.
Very unimpressed and frustrated with the Business Ethics (or lack thereof) of Skip in Edmonton. We used to use their services at our office multiple times weekly, and we have had "ok" service in the past (and, some drivers have been exemplary, so I don't blame them at all) but we have experienced missing items or completely missing orders. Usually the problems were rectified, but only after a long battle with trying to get someone to help or listen. Everything is automated, you cant speak to anyone - they want everything to go through their chat function, and all the answers are canned and not helpful at all. We recently had a liquor order - the driver arrived with an item missing and said that the store did not give it to him, and that I needed to deal with Skip for the loss. At first, I contacted Skip a few times through their app, to which I was told they cant locate the driver, so I should try back "later"... so helpful, right? I then called the store that the order was picked up from where I was told that they DID give all items to the driver AND they have video footage to prove it, and will give me a copy if I need it. After multiple (over 20) attempts to get help through their Chat line, there was no resolution. Most operators just left the chat without helping, and the ones who tried to help all said the same thing: "Store confirmed they gave the item to the driver, driver says he delivered all items - nothing we can do, have a nice day" Oh OK. He said he gave it to me, so he must be right?! There is no such thing as lying or stealing anymore? I am just wrong, case closed? Ridiculous... no option to escalate or investigate - this is straight up THEFT. Not only did I pay a premium for the product, I paid for the delivery AND tipped the driver, who obviously stole the product. What a scam. Skip will no longer get my business or our company's business again. Terrible customer service, terrible business practice. I feel bad for their employees too, as I am sure (even though they are protecting this one bad apple) that they don't treat them well either. Wanted to give 0 stars or negative stars, but the only option was one.
Let the screen shots speak for themselves just horrible they need to change their ways before it's to late
Tip for consumers:
Dont do it until change happens

They seem to pick and choose when to stand behind their services. Cold food? Sorry, nothing we can do. I'm done with them.
Skip had missing items from my delivery and does not give refunds for missing items. I have deleted theyre app
Don't expect your food. Nobody cares. Missing over half my order. And they don't care. Customer service sucks
All was quite well with Skipthedishes for the first couple of months to be quite honest. My review is directed towards the app developers as opposed to the delivery employees:
My credit card was compromised, so it had to be cancelled. Once my replacement card arrived, I successfully activated it, and attempted to synchronize it with my already installed skipthedishes app. This is where the frustration began:
1. After multiple attempts at syncing my credit card, and told it was declined, I attempted to add it through the browser app. This also did not work.
2. I then decided to uninstall the app, and re-install it. Same issue. Card declined.
3. At this point I was beyond frustrated, but was determined to fulfill my late night munchies hankering, so I soldiered on...
4. I then created a new skipthedishesaccount with another email address. After about 15 minutes of fumbling through the completely unintuitive app, I came to the screen that asked for my address/postal code. I attempted to select "Continue"... to no avail. The app would simply not progress to the next step.
5. At this point, I gave up, and decided to download the Uber Eats app. After less that 4 minutes I had successfully created my account and my order was delivered promptly within 20 minutes, without issue.
To the SkipTheDishes app development team: You need to up your development skills if you want to continue to complete in this market. The app is clearly ridden with buggy features, and I assume your agile development team is pushing out releases prematurely, without adequate testing. So, for that reason, you're fired!
As I travel a lot with work having food delivery services such as Skip the Dishes can be very useful especially during times where many Covid restrictions are in place however, getting the order in is easy, actually receiving the food is not.
For the 3rd time this year I placed an order on-line, and watched diligently on my phone as my courier made his way to the store, then collected the order and began his journey to the delivery address. Now I will state here that each time I have placed an order, I have been at one automotive dealership or another, so there are many entrances and a plethora of people to leave my food order with, doesn't sound too difficult does it?
Also for the 3rd time this year my food order failed to arrive. So as in the past I contacted Skip and let them know, previously they had been helpful and refunded the cost of my order, although one time I did not get the delivery fee refunded, but okay I get it. This time however was a different thing all together. They refused to give me my credit of $20.97, apparently I am now listed as a high risk, not forgetting this is all because they have delivery drivers that can't read an address or have the nous to check if they are in the right place, somehow this is my fault!
After a lengthy text conversation with what I can only call an AI, I was told that I would not be getting a refund now or in the future.
So bottom line is this, if you want a reliable food delivery service and do not want to remain hungry, DON'T USE SKIP the DISHES

Said food was delivered, nothing showed up. Skip the dishes refused to give money back. Never using them again. I would give them a zero
TERRIBLE! On our last 4 orders we watched as the drivers went around in circles, got lost, and took up to 3 times the time it should take to get to our address. Each time I opened a "chat session" with the help link, and each time I was told that they "would discuss my concerns with the driver to ensure that they were using the best route." Also each time, I requested that the $5 tip that we gave each time to the driver, be deleted off our credit card total. They did not do this! I then went onto another chat session to ask why, and was told that they don't have any records of my chat sessions! UNBELIEVABLE! We even had one driver tell us to our face (before they went "contactless") that he picked up our order, went back to his house to pick up his phone! (waaay out of the way!) and THEN brought us our order! But yet they did not have a record of this!? And THEN! They said that a dispute had to be filed within 48 hours! AFTER they couldn't find the chat sessions in question!?
Needless to say, we are no longer Skip The Dishes customers, and I would advise anyone NOT to sign up with them!
I have never had to wait so long for a Customer Service Rep to get back to me IN THE MIDDLE of conversations.
Couriers they hire don't know anything about reading road instructions and since my address is always screwed up by Google, they always go to the wrong address. I get cold food and Skip Reps have not done a thing about it no matter how many times I bring up the issue. I am usually referred to sending an email to support which I NEVER EVER get a response back and the issue has NEVER been even remotely solved.
This last order I made, the courier stayed at the wrong address for nearly 35 minutes which resulted in getting cold food. What was their response? I got 50% off two items (refunded to my Skip account). Additionally, this courier hung up on me and wouldn't answer my call-back when he called asking if i was at this wrong address... Absolutely ridiculous ONGOING customer service problems. It NEVER ends.
I will never order from Skip ever again! I am DONE!
Go order from DoorDash or UberEats... stay away from SKIP!

Employ terrible drivers who don't know how to find simple locations and say the delivered when dont.
I refuse to pay even a penny towards a meal that was not Edible and they won't take responsibility and refund what is right
Tried to order multiple times off skip kept saying payment failed when I have money in my account. Absolute waste of time never using skip again
I wish I could give them a -100. Never using this service again. Not only do they take forever to deliver but something is always wrong.
I've lost count of how many times these guys have not been able to find our place but it's somehow "delivered." They need to be avoided at all costs.
Broke my retaining wall. Will take your food on a tour of the city. When you complain, they act like its a joke. Who's in charge here?
They blame you for their idiot drivers and missing food items. Do not care and are horrible. Will never order from these scammers again.
Left the food on our steps. Didn't knock or even notify us it was there. Its -10 out and our supper is cold.
Please check the address before ringing the doorbell, really, 2am I was not happy, what more do you want to know?
Drivers take multiple orders so deliver is delayed. Gift card support is lousy. Generally poor customer service. Won't use them again.
They charged up $830 on my credit card for stuff I never ordered! Thank god my bank took care of the issue and I didn't have to pay it.
Wanted a no hassle take out experience. Ordered, cancelled by SKIP, credited my account? Just give me my money back!
Tip for consumers:
Do not use this service!
