We "leased" an iPhone from Sprint. After 18 months, I thought the phone would be paid off. Instead, they switched me over to a new lease payment that is double what I was paying for the iPhone on the original lease. They planned on charging me this lease payment for the rest of the the time I had the iPhone.
I feel this is fraudulent. I was never notified that the "lease" was expired and new arrangements needed to be made.
When I discovered the "new lease" terms and contacted them. They said I could make a one-time payment of $174 or pay 6 more months of lease payments at $30 to purchase the phone outright. I did not have a problem with this.
But when I asked if I could be credited the last 5 months of payments that they had been charging me for the $30, they said, no. That I had to continue to pay for another 6 months.
Ridiculus! I will never recommend Sprint to anyone. The service is very poor both in terms of customer service and dropped call service in the Southern California area. I have been a loyal customer for 25 years, and this is how they treat their customers.
Their online promotions are total BS!
Don't ever switch services by calling their 800 phone number. It's a total skam bait and swith. I received a promotion in November which was there kick start program. They told me if I switch services I would pay $25 per line. I called the number on the advertisement I received which brought me to a call center in South Africa. I was told I would be paying $25 A-line for for phones plus $5 per month for refurbished iPhone 7. None of this was true when I received my bill it was over $200. The only reason I switch services was to save money. Now my bill is more then what I was paying before. I have the conversation recorded as I called from my work phone which I offered to send them, they said they would pull the tapes from the conversation on their end which would take 3 to 5 days. They still haven't pulled the tapes. I went to their corporate store to try to rectify the situation. I took off a day of work today to get this resolved only to be told by the staff at the store they cant help me and basically tough luck. Do not fall for their bait and switch tactics. It's a total scam and I'm now locked in for 2 years of this BS. I have never written a bad review in my life but I'm glad to write one now. Unbelievable!
I closed my account on April 15th but they still charging me, now its July 13! I called them they are layers they transferred me to a different department and by the end I have to pay any way!
I have been a customer with sprint for 6 years now. I am no longer now. Actually switched to MetroPCS and im pretty happy and content with them! Now In the 6 years I was with Sprint here is a few things I learned.
1- Customer service wheather over the phone or in person they are cocky, ignorant and VERY unprofessional.
2- They don't give a crap about you.
3- If you are a loyal customer and always on time paying, they still don't give a crap! They will screw you over just as hard!
4- Make sure to watch your bill! They will charge you 2 months for one the come up with some excuse that makes absolutely NO sense what so ever!
5- Even when you are cancelled and have been cancelled for months (3) they still seem to want to Bill you and still come up with excuses that makes no sense on why 3 months later they are billing you?!?!
I could continue but don't want to keep boring anyone. Just know Sprint is not all cracked up it seems to be. I wish I would have realized years ago and saved my money! I can just imagine how many times they got away with making me pay extra: :/

I sign up for the kickstart program online with the supervisor that reassure me of my monthly bill. She said that I was qualified for the plan. I decided since my phone bill would be what I expected to get a new flash deal phone with her too for my new line of service. Then my bill came twice as much as I expected. I have been calling chatting online and no one can help me. I felt helpless knowing I am giving my money to a company for someone to say they cannot help me. I had to
Wait for the higher up dept to call me back. I waited since October 4 to get a call today November 26. To let me I did not qualify for plan I sign up for and I have to paid the termination fee the phone I got also the phone bill I did not agree on. It was my fault supervisor sign me up for kickstart plan I was not qualified for and my fault I had the phone pass cancellation dates. While I was waiting to hear back from them. Keep your sainty and avoid sprint. Associate are all on different pages and they want to help but really don't have the power to do so. Worst customer service ever.
They are crooks-i asked to drop 2 phones from my account and refused to drop them and still continued to charge me for them for 4 months and after finally call them up they said they didn't know why they didn't drop the 2 phone buy they gave me back they last 2 months instead of the last 5 months. The phone carriers are all crooks. STAY AWAY FROM SPRINT
I purchased a prepaid phone from hsn with Sprint service. I sent the phone to my daughter. The Sprint plan is a rip off. If you use data. This is not the plan for you. Limited data! Rip off!
I went online to shop for cell phones, picked my phones/promotions, went to the Westwood, CA store to get them before leaving town for the holidays but the salesman said the prices/promos weren't valid anymore but I'd run out of time and had to pay much more. The next day, I went online and those prices were still valid! I immediately went to a store, already out of town but they said I had to go back to the same store. I left messages there but no one ever called back so I called Sprint. I forgot my pin but he promised they could be returned when I got back up to 2 days past the 14 day policy since the store was closed 2 days over the holidays. But when I got back, the store refused and denied this.
I called Sprint and the salesman tried to trick me into buying more phones even if I cancelled, he got paid. I wrote emails and letters to corporate, called customer service, etc. but no one will respond.DON'T BUY PHONES FROM SPRINT, buy them elsewhere then switch your contract if you want Sprint.
Also be careful about insurance. This happened every time I bought a device. They add it without asking but you won't catch it until they send a bill - usually delayed - you have to call BUT they'll say it's removed, it will show up again! They won't credit you. They'll say they'll look into it and call you with a decision and you'll never hear back. If you total up $14 a month per phone they sell, this adds up for them. And our government agencies are bought off by their lobbyists so they won't do crap about it so all we can do is warn each other. BUYER BEWARE.
My visit to the Sunset Hills, MO Sprint store on 10/10/2019 was the single worst customer service experience I've ever had, at Sprint or any other retailer. My appointment I made on the Sprint website was not honored, both the store and assistant managers were shockingly condescending to me, told other customers I was being rude and selfish and openly made me feel more like an invading enemy than a valued customer. I was given conflicting information, the managers refused to even consider that I was given wrong information by the sales staff and made zero effort to work with me on any kind of reasonable compromise in resolution. At one point, the manager and a technician were both trying to talk to me about two different issues simultaneously and when I pointed out I needed to handle one issue at a time because I can't hold two conversations at one time, the technician (who I was actively in a conversation with) simply turned and walked back behind the tech glass without saying a word, ignoring the fact we were in the middle of discussing my phone repair. This is how a customer can expect to be treated at this location, unless you're willing to simply accept whatever deceptive and misleading things they tell you at face value without asking questions and being a smart, responsible consumer.
I received text that I was past due I called them and told them I paid my bill 9/5 and had a confirmation number and also checked with bank and they had received a payment from bank because I paid online, sprint (and Peter) said that I still was behind payment and if I didn't pay by the 29th they would cut my phones even tho I had no clue of the payment they said I owed he said because I didn't pay he said it was on bill online, I said I get paper bills and its not due until oct didn't matter so I guess you have to guess what you owe and then they fretted you to take away phones. I paid by phone with card and then I get my bill which is showing the same amount on bill I'm not going to pay twice. It was on Oct bill so why the fret
I have never in my life received such bad customer service! Mind you I always give 5 stars to a business or left it alone. Well my story is ongoing for almost 3 mths since I did a trade in at the store. The store told me once I received my new upgrade phones to come in and return. I did just that and they stayed that the store wasn't doing the returns that I needed a "return kit ". Well return kit was sent to old address and didn't find out to several calls latter and debit on close to 400 for holding phones in my possession until Sprint-T-Mobile got their act together. I was promise a refund and call Back with 1-2 weeks after phones were returned. I even called to see if they arrived bc 1 mth had passed! They were received and new CSR stated refund would be there on next billing cycle. So again believing them with all the fake apologies, I waited until I was charged my monthly bill and still NO REFUND! So, I call one last time and now I get a new story ( can you imagine!) CSR states return code was entered wrong. Which makes no sense -sense I returned my item. So since there is no way to shorten this story. I'll end by saying. Worst experience every for me. Very dissatisfied with whole process and I will be disputing with my bank, canceling service for good, and telling everyone possible to STAY CLEAR of Sprint -T-Mobile conversion!
I bought a LG4 one year and 3 months ago for $624.00 and it already died and I called LG and they told me to bad there phones are junk and I will never buy another
Shutting folks phones down who are unable to make minimum payments in this time is an abuse of power. There should be a zero star option. Ca
Lling for system overhaul.
In January 2016 i joined sprint since I was getting a discount through my company discount. In March I tried cancelling since i never have service at home, I was told
1) they would contact a technician to check anthena nearby
2) was difficult to reach customer support after calling since time they opened to time they closed, getting transferred and disconnected 5-6 times a day for days
3) I was told I didnt have to pay cancellation fee since I wasnt getting service I just had to present to local sprint, once I showed up to local sprint they tell me i had to pay cancellation fee for tablet and phone
4) sprint customer service tells me they cant cancel my subscription until I pay the remaining balance
5) I paty everything by April, later in October I get a letter from collection agency
6) I try to pay collection company and show them my balance of $0 and they wouldnt take my emails or letters,
7) years later it ruins my credit score for having a balance that was for a phone number with my name but a different carrier not sprint. Sprint gave away my name and number to someone else!
I tried calling support team and never got a hold of anyone
They may cost $25 a month less than verizon for their unlimited plan but it is not worth the headache dealing with their lack of customer service. I had sprint from 2004-2010 and in 2009 I switched from what ever plan I was on to their unlimited plan for the military after joining the army. One of the benefits to military account was you could stop your service and not have to pay the phone bill if you had to serve over seas and you could restart your service and keep your phone number when you returned and all you had to do was bring them a copy of your orders. I got stationed in Germany so I brought them my orders to freeze my phone service. Then I was deployed to Iraq for a year and when I got back I had found out that sprint never freezed my plan and that my phone was disconnected and I owed $1200 to collections. Basically after getting the run around from them for a while I didn't have to pay the $1200 but having that on my credit report was not helpful in anyway. Once I got back to the US I switched to Verizon and have been taken care of, there was no way I was going back to sprint, and not just because sprint literally has no service on post at fort Polk LA, but because they pretty much have no customer service at all.
I am presently on hold with Sprint Customer Service as I am typing this review. I have been on hold for over 40 minutes. My first encounter was with a customer service representative that obviously DID NOT want to be at work on a Saturday morning. She transferred me to Kert, the manager. Kert, the manager transferred me to Theresa, the "TEAM" manager. Theresa the "TEAM" manager took my number and stated that I would be getting a call back within 24 to 48 hours.
The nightmare began when our children went in to the Sprint store here in Auburn, Alabama to lease the IPhone 6 and the Edge. My family has been with Sprint before it was Sprint, over 20 years ago. Every month since April of 2015 our bill has been inconsistent; as a result I have called Sprint each month with my bills laid out in front of me trying to rectify the situation. Last month in September, I was given the false hope that the bill would be the same each month. WHY would I believe this? I have no idea... But I was Praying that it would be true and all of my effort would finally pay off... it DID NOT pay off. I am back at square one with this company yet again.
Here is what I know, Sprint has Horrible customer service. And if another child damages another phone that child will receive a Trac Phone for the duration of this contract... so that we can switch to Straight Talk. The phones may not have all of the amenities of the newer phones... BUT... I LOVE the idea of knowing that the price is the same each month and it is cheaper for a family of five.
I have spoke to several people about issues being a new costumer I am very disappointed in the poor customer service they provide I wish I would have never switched to them
I cancelled my line after 10 years of service on January 30th. I asked and they verified I had a $0 balance. So when I get a bill after being told there would not be any other bills, I threw it away, thinking it a mistake. It is July 4, and Sprint wants to report a $27 balance to the credit bureau! After 3 calls - one to the collection agency, who said to contact Sprint concerning the issue, the second call, in which the Sprint guy just transferred me to the collection agency saying they could help me.
The third call call (I found their call center is in the Philippines) took 30 minutes to find a reason for the charge. I am told there is nothing they can do - the new month began January 28th, and they do not prorate. The sprint employee would not see this until the first of the month. I found this tidbit hard to believe.
I put up with so-so service and questionable customer service for a cheaper rate, and now, after 10 years, there is nothing you can do?
Coming in at the lowest rate is not always the better value. Think twice before switching to Sprint. If you still want to go with them... reconsider. You will regret it.
Answer: Yep. It is such a SCAM! THEY BEG U TO ACTIVATE UR DEVICE
