Been trying to activate a SIM card for weeks. No one answers customer service phone; you'll be put on ignore for hours on end. Chat line worthless. You get a bot that doesn't address specific issues or tries to upsell you on something. No other way to reach customer service.
I have been with straight for 7 yrs but since my last 2day- 3.5 hrs on the phone and still no resolution, I have decided to cancel my service. I have had man issues with their customer service over the years, however, this last encounter in which I requested 4x to speak to someone stateside and was disconnected after a long wait, I have had enough of their shenanigans.
I will no longer do business with Straight Talk. I have an Apple 6 phone in my name that I needed to have unlocked so I could have a family member use the phone. Straight talk refused to unlock my phone. Now this phone is no good.
Another incident in the same week... We called to cancel a Straighttalk service that we have. After going through automated questions I finally got to customer service and they ask the normal questions that I had just gone through with the automated system to then put me on hold for over 45 minutes to a different person that then took only 2 minutes maximum to take care of cancelling my services. Ugggghhhh!
The batteries go bad so fast. I literally just bought my phone a month ago, and within 2 hrs it's dead from 100%. The customer service is terrible.
Do not get Straight Talk if you live in this area. Data is fine because I'm almost on my home wifi. BUT Phone signal strength is TOO low to make calls & 1/2 the time text msg fail. I've had the service for almost 2yrs. Recently something changed ( 4 months now), I believe the nearest tower went to 5G ( in Monroe, GA 5.4 miles from my home)
The only way to cancel service is to start over with a new phone number with a new carrier. It would be easier to break into Fort Knox than to get them to release your phone number. SO DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMER SERVICES! They all claim to be a "supervisor" (EVERYONE? REALLY?!). If you ask for a supervisor, they simply put you through the queue again. When you have gone through this 5 or 6 times, then they start cutting you off…over and over…NO ONE helps! NO ONE! It is IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone to cooperate. They don't know what they are doing when you get through. The wait times are 30-45 minutes and THEN THEY CUT YOU OFF AGAIN!
Straight talk has horrible service and support. They customer service is not good at all. They really need to be shut down. They the only company that does not help their customers out at all. Someone need to shut this company down like they did all the good breakfast shoney's. Because this is the number one horrible disaster phone company.
They suck at being helpful. They don't actually listen to your problems just always quick to transfer to the next dept without asking questions. I've been transferred all day and haven't spoken to a single rep. My wait time for being on hold is 2 hours and counting. Don't switch if you don't have to. There are no reps to physically help and I can't get a refund on the service that I bought because I bought it at Walmart and not directly from straigh talk
If anything goes wrong or you need to make any significant changes to your plan, you can expect the worst customer service of your life. I was required to engage in a 45 minute call to customer service just to de-activate the auto-refill feature! I can not access my account information online to make any changes, and when I request a chat with customer support, there are 93 people ahead of me in the cue! It is certainly worth paying another $10-$20 per month with another carrier to avoid Straighttalk.
This "company" is absolute dog$#*!. Looking for your account number? Too bad, they don't have one for you. Need to speak to customer service? Too bad, they'll hang up on you. The list goes on and on, but my god this is absolutely awful in every imaginable way. If the FCC had power to do ANYTHING, they'd shut down this racket in a heartbeat. $#*! this company, if you're thinking about going with it, maybe try Mint Mobile instead.
Straight talk literally lies to all of their customers. They sell unlimited plans but they're absolutely 100% limited. Per section 6 and 7 of the user agreement after using 200 gigs your data is 100% shut off. I have no respect for any company or person who lies to their customers in order to make a sale. All you have to do is be honest with people. Their policy is that the phone should continue to work at 2G speeds however it 100% shuts the data off and not a single kilobyte will go to your phone after exceeding the 200 GB limit. I paid him for the last month and for next month I will be with the new carrier.
I had originally switched from Verizon (only because of our financial situation at the time). My husband and I ported our phone numbers over. The same phone numbers that we have had for around 10 years. I never had many issues after initially getting everything switched over. We had spotty service in some areas that we rarely visited so not to bad. Recently I paid my monthly re-up for the new month and the next day straight talk allowed another company to just take my phone number. I realized I didn't have service but my husband still did. I thought my phone was just messing up as it is a few years old. I called customer service they could not tell me why my phone number was ported out or what information was given to approve the port out. To port out of straight talk you have to have the pin number the customer created the account number and the phone with that number in your possession because they either call/text a code that you have to provide to the person your currently on the phone with. They also told me that I forfeit the amount I just paid to re-up for the new month. I wanted my phone number back. They supposedly put in a order to have this done and said I would get a call within 48 hours. Over 48 hours later no call and customer service was terrible. My husband and I kept calling they never got us to the correct department, constantly hung up on us, would not look up the order number to see if they got the number back, HORRIBLE! Never Again. Since my 2 children now have phones we went back to Verizon. We have truly unlimited for all phones for $40 cheaper a month than straight talk. Very happy with Verizon. Would give a negative rating if I could.
This company has to be the worst cell phone company ever in business. Nothing but problems, customer service sucks (if you can understand their broken English), phone got stolen and all my information hacked by a ex and they wouldn't shut my phone off. All around a fuc ed company. No respect when you can reach them, and horrible coverage.
I bought a new phone on December 3. It has auto refill service. It is an iPhone 13 and was paid in full. On December 14 straight talk deactivated my phone and ported my number out illegally without my consent. It has now been 16 days and they refused to give me my number back or activate my phone. They told me if I give them $300 they will unlock the phone but I will have to have another number. They stole my number and ported it out. It is time for the FCC to stop this criminal enterprise. I have this time with my family including my son who is a United States military service member. My elderly parents are unable to contact me and I am not able to make medical appointments. This company is a safety hazard. The FCC needs to help. Straight talk has done this to thousands of people this month.
1. I purchased a straight talk wireless with 20 gigs for $75.00. (20 gigs per month and a minimum of 60 days)
2. I watched 5 hours of Netflix TV and not high quality
3. I ran out of data after 5 hours after 3 days into it
4. I called the Customer Service line at *******355 and everyone there is Phillipines only
5. I asked if they could send me the data on me using the 20 gigs.
6. They just keep transferring me to no end to other people in the Phillipines and every time the phone would "disconnect"
7. Essentially I received 5 hours and paid the following
a. Mobile hotspot box -$49.00
b. Online data plan 20 gigs $65.00 (min 2x months), so $130.00
c. Totaling $179.00 for 5x hours of Netflix for my guest house
I would not recommend this company and find one that is more fair and will provide proof of data when used.
For three months, I have been trying to get some one on the phone. I have paid entirely too much for the past 4 years to be given such $#*!ty service. I just now finally got ahold of some one. Asked for my last payment on my plan to be refunded. He said he doesn't do that and I would have to go through some one else. He gives me a number to an insurance company that tries to figure out how many miles you drive your car a day. *******355. The agent I spoke to is named Samuel. I 100% advise you to not waste your time and money on this company. There's absolutely no way to get ahold of them when something isn't right. They lie, they take your money and don't bother to assist you. You get locked out of your account. I wasted $800 on a phone that I now have to give up because they will not unlock my sim but will give me an option to see if I can. The serial numbers on your phone don't match anything in their system, or so they claim that to be the case. You try to cancel your plan and they still continue to charge you for months that you're not using. I cannot express how angry I am for allowing myself to waste the money and time with them that I have. Note to self. Don't.
Unabe to use hot spot after just 8 days of my monthly service renewing. Hardly even used my Hotspot and Straight Talk said I used all 15G's. The prior month I never had a problem. It's the 22nd of December and Straight Talk Customer Service said, I will need to wait until the 14th of next month to renew my 15G's. When I ask Customer Service to show proof of usage they said they said they can't. Their accents were difficult to understand, they offered no solutions, and could not show proof of why my hotspot ended in 8 days. This is poor service! I do not recommend them. I would give them 0 Stars if I could.
There customer service is so bad. I believe they just copy/paste responses from answers they have online. Also, not one single time have those standard FAQ answers actually helped me. My wife tried to get on straight talk by transferring her IPHONE 12 pro over. We text ******* to ensure it was compatible, it said yes. Of course, when we tried to actually activate it, it said it was not compatible. Called customer service 3 separate time. Transferred me to buy a service plan, each time on transfer the call dropped. When we finally were able to speak to someone she did exactly what we did online and just said, "No, it does not work with Straight Talk." Again, even though we verified that it would work thru *******. The customer service rep just said, well you need to buy a new phone. That is not a solution and you should have better answers than stand FAQ answers. Straight talk has 100 percent the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Oh, almost forgot the phone they said wasn't compatible is being sold on their website for nearly a thousand dollars! Get it together straight talk and actually train you customer service reps to be something other than bots that regurgitate standard FAQ responses!
All I needed to do was update my billing info for autopay. One hour, multiple searches, chats and phone calls and surveys later, NO ONE HAS HELPED ME FIND OUT WHERE TO CHANGE THAT INFORMATION. Bet they'll waste not time in contacting when the bill's not paid!
Would never recommend or get straight talk ever again. Straight up stole my money from me when I went to cancel my service. Charged me for a month that I was not using their service and refused to provide a refund. -1 stars for service and quality, staffed by straight up thieves.
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
