Tried to change my flight date due to other personal issues but they offered no solution and refused to refund. Thought the website is intended for students' benefit but now it looks like taking advantage of students by forcing students to change their flights for no reason and refusing to reschedule and refund. Haha don't ever use it. I promise you would get screwed up

I wouldn't recommend this agency at all. I booked a flight through them with virgin Airlines. The flight was changed few times then I ended up cancelling the flight. I called virgin Airlines direct and cancelled the flight they told me they will not refund me. It had to be through the agent I booked with which was Student universe. I have made numerous phone calls to no avail. They keep telling me that virgin Airlines have a backlog/ have not responded to their emails but this is now over 2 months, also i have to explain my case everytime i call them. I'm so not happy about this. So no I do not recommend them.

Hi, sorry that you had to wait this long. We've been actively communicating with the airline for the refund since then, but unfortunately the airline has not yet provided any updates. We know it's extremely frustrating waiting for a refund for 3 months, but we also recommend you contact the airline, express the concern, and see if they could expedite the process from their end. Update on 10/2/22: Refund was issued and you shall receive an email regarding the refund. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Booking went easy but only email that came in was generic email with thank you but no details of the purchase.
24 h later there was confirmation email
In that time people could become worried about the trustworthiness of this booking.

Used StudentUniverse to book a flight and it was the cheapest rate and we still had great seats and zero problems with our booking. Totally a legit website. I would highly recommend. I also had a question about a charge and i emailed customer service and they responded the next day!

Thank you for providing me with cheaper flight alternatives! I get to see my favourite band without breaking the bank One critique is that it would be nice to have prices automatically change to CAD when used with a Canadian account for Canadian flights.

I started using Student Universe this summer when I went backpacking in Europe. I used the app to book all my international flights and smaller flights within Europe. Since then I use it every time I'm looking for flights! We watched the prices for airfare for our trip for about a month comparing prices on different websites and apps, in the end Student Universe was offering the best rate for the dates and times we wanted to travel. So far very pleased with my experience!

I booked 2 airtickets through student universe and paid with my ICBC credit card. Soon, I got email alert: "CIBC has flagged possible fraud: $283.44 at CANADA on your CIBC Mastercard ending
In 2728." Then I went on investigating this company. Here is the finding: the Studentuniverse takes customers' credit card and charge airticket plus a $20 booking fee. Then the student universe uses their company credit card ending 7544 to pay airline. This uncommon business model gives them 2 revenue sources: one is extra service fee directly charged to the customers, the other is negotiated booking fee paid by airlines. This whole process is not transparent and confusing. I will not use this website.
Tip for consumers:
In the twist of the whole process, I rebooked the air tickets from Flair Airline directly using the credit on my account. I did receive email response from Student Universe and talked to a customer service representative. Their employees are polite. The problem is the company policy that is not transparent and causes confusion.
On Expedia and other reputable online travel agencies, you can find the same deal and knows that there is no hidden fee charged.

I have booked the ticket with insurance which covers the cancellation for full refund, but now when I wanted to cancel the ticket they are charging me 500$ for cancellation. They are stealing money from students. NEVER book from student universe other websites are 1000% better than this. Worst customer service for students.

Mounica, just replied to your message as well, but wanted to confirm that the insurance (if what was purchased through Trip Mate covers cancellation) will refund you for the cancellation fees, but they are still paid initially at the time of cancellation.

Worst experience ever. We entered the last name of one of the passengers and to correct the name these guys were charging crazy make things too complicated where the actual airlines are willing to make the change. Please do not go with this.

Hi, we follow the airlines' policy in terms of name change. Some allow name change for a fee. We highly recommend passengers spell their names correctly and double check the names with their legal documents.
Booking a ticket was easy and smooth. Tickets were sent in a few hours.
The cost was the lowest for the flight I wanted.

Almost immediately after I had problems purchasing tickets online, I was contacted by phone to help me with manual ticketing and updated prices. I wanted to back date my return date for my flight. I have been charged extra 3 times already and now to back date again I was told I was going to pay over a hundred dollars. I was looking for a cheap ticket but now I have had to pay way more than I would have if I booked directly with United Airline. You guys also claim that you offered to waive the SU fees for my flight changes request but that a lie because for every time I have called to reschedule my flight I have had to pay both the 50 dollars change on top of the fare difference fee. So that part of saying it was once waived is a lie.

Hi, sorry you felt that way. Well, you requested to change your return date TWICE - flight booked on Sept 4th, first change on Sept 9th and second Sept 11th. You actually did request to change the THIRD time but did't proceed and you called us scam. We waived all your StudentUniverse service fee and only collected what the airline asked for. If you are looking for a ticket with unlimited change, please check with the airline before you select a regular economy class ticket, which requires change fee + fare difference. We understand that there are times when things happen and you need to change your plan, but please follow the rules first.
Site is a little slow but I was able to purchase tickets to Iceland for really cheap, plus they had a promotion for extra $30 off. The ticket was easy to find on the airline's website after I purchased it, and they actually called me after I purchased to let me know how it works, since it was my first purchase with them.
