My travel credit of over $1,150 was reduced by $400 for no reason. I encounted exorbitant additional fees and flight costs when attempting to use the travel credit. The flights were advertised for $69 but StudentUniverse tried to charge over $350.

After purchasing the ticket I was required to sent additional documents by email, including the card I used to buy it which seemed dangerous at first. But I cover the numbers and after sending that my flight was reserved.

We had been searching for a one way return trip from Paris to Minneapolis. We used frequent flyer miles to get to Europe, but pay for returns were so expensive. At first prices weren't too bad on other sites, but the options almost always went through LHR. That is too difficult an airport for us to navigate. We came across the StudentUniverse website & it offered both decent prices and an option through Dublin, an airport we use often & on AerLingus of which we are frequent flyers. It was a win-win, so we booked. The only thing I didn't realize was the $50. Fee to join StudentUniverse. Perhaps I didn't read carefully enough & I hope this trip goes smoothly.

I found the flights I wanted and could book them easily. However, after that, I received five (!) confirmation emails in the following hour, and then I received another email two days later asking me if I had received a booking confirmation. As I also had to book another flight, my whole email inbox was flooded with StudentUniverse emails, and that felt unnecessary and unpleasant. Please, StundenUniverese, can you only send one email confirmation per flight next time?
It gave me the most affordable prices with the flight times I wanted.

Purchased 3 ticket for flights that were subsequently canceled by the airline. A year later, no refund. I have received confirmation from SU that the money was refunded, but never received the refund.

This is the worst company to book with! They overcharge you for flights and are unable to tell you what these fees are. Asking to pay a price for a new ticket just for change of flight dates, and they have bad customer service! Definitely not for students! DO NOT BOOK!

My experience was bad actually as compared to any other website. I was having a coupon and while checking flights, and it got applied. But since I did not do the booking, when I was trying to use it for my actual flight booking, it was showing as "Coupon already redeemed".

Their response during the Covid19 outbreak has been shocking. They cut you off while trying to receive support and don't bother contacting them 48 hours before your flight. By that point its too late, you might get through in a week. Their online options are misleadingly labelled when trying to rebook automatically and if you are unlucky you can inadvertently cancel your flight with no confirmation and worthless 'StudentUniverse credit' that you have to call to use or even see.
Don't use this company, don't trust them, they will screw you over.

Flight cancelled within an hour of booking due to covid.
Rung up straight away was told refund had been applied.
7 weeks later (and numerous emails) still no refund. I have checked with my bank to see if the refund is pending and nothing.
I have been continually told it is my banks fault, despite my bank checking and me also receiving refinds from other companies in the meantime.
Hideous, do not book with them unless you want to gift them $300!

I was routed from Kayak to the StudentUniverse site and was able to book a flight for less money on a good airline. I was skeptical and googled the site for potential "scams" but it's legit. We bought a flight and we were able to call them to make sure we got the ticket issued so we could buy a seat. The reservation did not enable us to pick a seat at the time of purchase.

Bought 2 tickets to go to Europe. Bought economy from StudentUniverse which was basic economy on the airlines reservation, which would translate in $400 extra luggage fees!
Canceled a few hours after booking, canceled the insurance also. StudentUniverse reimbursed the insurance cancellation fees. I appreciate it!
Tip for consumers:
Avoid!! Check my picture, I bought economy class from studentUniverse. Airlines did not agree, was in basic economy.
They add fees on insurance cancellation!

This waa supposed to not have hidden fees and there are. Also, no way to contact airlines to follow up and complete booking. Deplorable. Last time I use this. Ended up spending more than on google flights.

When I first tried booking my flight, I received an error saying that the flight could not be booked. No more than a minute after that, Catherine from Student Universe called me and helped sort everything out. The price of the flight increased from when we selected the seats, so that's why we received the error, but Catherine helped rebook us over the phone. Thank you!

These airlines are not student friendly or helpful. They only care about getting money out of our pockets and nothing. No service, no availability. I don't understand how they use covid as a reason for their irresponsive behavior. Other big airlines are pretty much helpful especially in covid times. Please don't book a ticket in this website. All they could give was some automatic reply. They will make you wait in line for a single call for hours. I don't know if they are trying to act busy since they are just some fake company that only takes people money. If you want to reschedule your flight, they will cost the difference equal to new flight. They will always squander your money without any proper service. I have been trying to reach them for three days but no avail. Please please dont use this website. You are going to just lose some money.

We always strive for good customer service, but since our primary customer care team was hit with a typhoon over the weekend, all the internet and phone lines were down and intermittent for several days. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. When you need to reschedule a flight, we are required to abide by the rules and fees set by each airline. They are kind of cheating. They are a fraud company looting money from people. If you want to lose your money so you can go with StudentUniverse.
They loot $1200 from me. I so regret when I booked ticket from them. Don't do book ticket from this scam operation buyer beware if you don't lose your money.
They only want your money and are done with you once they have it, greedy selfish shady operators.
My lesson tells everybody to avoid them for your safety. They just want to hurt your wallet and your bank.

This company is a $#*! show. I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked. I wasn't told a flight was cancelled and was going to be left hundreds of miles away from my destination in another country. Their customer service was nice at first and helped me rebook. HOWEVER, later on I got an email stating my arrival time is different than what we agreed on so I called to see if my original flight was back on. They reviewed my flight and even though the original flight wasn't cancelled they would only put me back on for an additional fee even though it was my original plan. Then, after talking to the supervisor she told me the flight was still cancelled and she asked me who told me it was back on... LIKE YOU DID? Overall, this has been a big waste of time and money. The prices were comparable to other companies and they're nothing special. As someone who travels abroad often, I will never book with them again.
