While on vacation I received a phone call and e-mail from StudentUniverse claiming that my return flight home on Frontier Airlines had changed and that I needed to call Frontier to verify that I accepted the changed flight or that I'd have to schedule a different flight. I called Frontier and they said my originally scheduled flight was still scheduled and there were no changes. I called StudentUniverse back and they tried again to get to me to say that I would change my flight... I think they were trying to free up my seat on the plane so they could sell it for more money. I can only imagine I would've been left paying a flight change fee or a whole new flight altogether!

Attempted to cancel flights (one was already cancelled by airline) and receive the refunds I qualified for by airline due to COVID. I called and received a different quote to my friend for the same flights. I then called again and the cost had increased! Part of the cost goes to them and the other portion to the airline (even though I qualified for full refund including cancellations on both airlines COVID policies). Overall horrible experience, do not recommend.

It's good to keep in mind that even if you and your friend had the same itinerary, the ticket fare classes may have been different, thus rendering you eligible for different refunds. However, we do apologize that you were quoted different amounts on different phone calls. The situation was changing rapidly, especially earlier on, and we are bound to all airline policies regarding change and cancellation fees and refunds. Hello, I am still waiting for my e-ticket. In addition, I called the contact number about adding my TSA-pre check information but was told I needed to wait 24 hours for my ticket to change from confirmation to ticketed.
After I left a three star review, my ticket was issued and I was told my TSA information was added. How can you add my TSA information without my known traveler number? Please have some contact me for my information. Thanks. I will provide a five star review if contacted.

It was a great experience except I wasn't sure how comfortable I should be based off of the student part of the experience. I am not a student but it wasn't clear as to whether or not I had to be to receive the rate.

Hard to cancel the accidentally added insurance by yourself but the customer service person is nice and patient and they cancelled the insurance for me. So overall it's great.

After I paid for the trip the agent fell off the face of the earth. I called serval times and noone can find my reservation however have been charge $2000K+. No information about the package I bought. Terrible wouldn't use ever again.

Caroline, I didn't receive back your booking ID I had messaged you for, but I looked further into this. The agent mentioned he had emailed the information over a few times and also sent the vouchers with all information attached. Perhaps you did not receive his emails? I know he had also tried to call you to discuss, so I hope everything is set, but if not please let me know!

I do wish that the booking confirmation gave me the QR code for my tickets or brought me directly to my different airlines check in sites instead it's just the flight booking number and I have to log in to each individual airline carrier site and put in the code to find my flight info

The bestttt place for college students. We are all trying to save up but also travel and I have been using student universe for a year now and i loveeeeeee it so much. I get to visit Mexico so many times a year all thanks to the great deal student universe gives us.

I booked through student universe and had to cancel a flight because something came up. They require that you call to make any cancelations or changes. I did so and they said I would get charged for the cancelation. Fine. But then they said I would have an additional charge from united. Why? So I call united, give them the flight info, they say it's canceled and there was no cancelation fee. Hmmm. Call student universe again, they confirm there is a fee. I set up a 3 way call between united, student universe, and me. This call goes on for over 4 hours! They don't trust the people are from united and they don't use the same systems (or so they say) so they can't confirm anything. In the end they agree if united gives them a money back voucher, but united can only give to me. But there is no voucher because there was no cancelation fee! I got ripped off and never got refunded. This was months ago. Literally the worst service ever. Never use.

I had 2 separate flights cancelled due to border closure was given a flight credit... eventually. Rebooked and had to pay extra over and above the ticket price advertised on their website. Tried to rebook the 2nd cancelled flight and again they wanted to charge me more than the quoted online ticket price. Tried to tell me I had booked a student fare originally... rubbish you have to ticket the " adult box"! Had a lot of issues with them giving me initial credit, each time I have rung it is a different " condition, flight fare, price for ticket" as to why they charge you more. Airline I am flying has even opened a case in my name to document the trouble I am having with Student Universe. Looks like I will have to pay more again!

Hi Sandy, we're sorry to hear you've been frustrated when trying to redeem your flight credits. Unfortunately, the online ticket price is typically for the lowest fare/ticket class available, whereas when booking with a credit, you'll be subject to the terms of your original ticket. So the new ticket type has to match your original ticket—the fare class, ticket type and etc.—which means that the cheapest option available to redeem with your credit may not be the cheapest option we have available on our site. Hopefully that helps make sense of this, and feel free to reach out directly if you'd like more help finding a good option to rebook your credit with!
After much con-flab and me repeatedly saying that I did not make the error, I received a phone call from Student Universe telling me that they could see I had via a key stroke investigation I had in-fact written my daughters name on the form, & as a courtesy to me because I am a 1st time customer, they will carry out the name change FREE of charge - So all in all they did the right thing for which I am grateful. Thank u.

I booked only last night@ around 11pm.
I placed the booking for my daughter and her friend -
I wrote the details of each person in the said box's and then only my name was written in the credit card section - I checked and double checked the info before sending it off -
100% certain it was filled out correctly I pushed the purchase button. Straight away I received a message showing MY name on the ticket! - I contacted the via "chat" on their site to let them know the system had somehow made an error... I got no reply for over an hour even though it asked me to wait for a response - so eventually I had to sleep.
This morning I wake up to an email saying the ticket name cannot be changed! I'm on the phone to them right now and the RUDE lady is telling me that who ever I want to speak to is going to give me the same answer and that no one can help me - SHES VERY CONFIDENT THAT I WILL GET NO HELP ANYWHERE - SHAMEFUL SCAM - RIP OFFS - been on hold now 32 minutes! TELLING ME I HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE NEW TICKET! ARE U KIDDING ME - I'M GOING TO THE OMBUDSMAN - OUTRAGEOUS! The ticket even has my Daughters date of birth on it - it was some thing on their web page that changed it - NOT ME... You know life is hard enough working hard, paying tax's trying to have time with your family and then u get ROBBED by company's that prey on the less fortunate. U people could be the straw the breaks the back of those who are truly trying to just cope in this life... TRY BEING HONORABLE!

Awful Customer Service! I booked a flight with StudentUniverse from Europe to USA. I had to cancel the flight because of COVID-19 restrictions. StudentUniverse confirmed to me over the phone and via email that credit will remain on my account and I will be able to use it to book another flight. I've been trying to book the flight for 10 days without any luck. One Customer Service agent is saying one thing, another is saying something totally different. They are even telling me I should call Lufthansa for assistance with booking my ticket and for following up on my reservation. In the email they sent me after the cancelation it clearly states: The new flight must be booked through StudentUniverse as we are the original issuing agency.
I have been talking with StudentUniverse and Lufthansa on the phone for several days. One agent says call Lufthansa, Lufthansa agent says call StudentUniverse. This is not serious.
Bottom line: Don't waste your time with StudentUniverse.
