I purchased from them twice, bought the tickets from Frontier, cheap bla bla bla
When I came to the airport, the Frontier rep told me that there is no ticket so that I have to call 3rd company to find out whats going on when I called them they just told me like my card didn't accept and that I received an email from them :) bull$#*!. I called my bank and canceled that transaction, bought ticket and flight by my self. The second time I tried one more time, :) they gave me the reservation code and in advance before to go to the airport I called frontier :) they said no ticket there :) thank god Bank of America knows how to act against these scammers, I took my money back. StudentUniverse you are on my black list and I will post your website as an scammers in my Instagram and facebook accounts.

My passport was stolen in transit, forcing me to pay the fee to change my flights. I was told by a representative to file a claim for the incurred costs because it was an insured reason. All representatives I spoke with (which was at least 10) said that claims normally takes one month at the most to process. It has been three months and I was just told my case was denied even though it is a covered reason. There is only a 1-800 number to call-no email, no direct line. I would hold for over 15 minutes before I was forced to leave my number for automated call backs. If I missed the call, I would have to reach them at the 1-800 number again and repeat the process. I was told different information by every representative as to how their cases are processed. After speaking with a manager three times, I was never given an explanation as to why my case was being delayed. I was told that the representative who was handling my case was not responding to the phone representative. My case was "expedited" three times by the manager and still took an additional 3 weeks to process. This is all a scam, if I could give this zero stars I would. Nobody knows what they are doing at this company. My favorite quote was, "We are still a new company and figuring things out". This company will never figure out how to deliver adequate customer service.

Student Universe can provide cheaper tickets for flights. I have used them a few times before with minimal issues.
However using them this month - for only a very minimal discount was a total mistake. I made the big error of not checking my ticket fields after filling out my details - and auto fill had changed my passenger details to my preferred name, which is an abbreviation of my long legal first name. The process to get this fixed has been ridiculous. Calls back and forth, email chains. At every point their customer service is lacking and agents know next to nothing. They take every opportunity to try and put the issue back onto you as well.
They ultimately managed to make a name correction for me (for which I had to pay) and they changed it wrong! When I emailed them to let them know it needed to be fixed, they tried to correct me and tell me I was wrong! I had to painstakingly try and spell out my legal name and how they had spelled it incorrectly, despite having a copy of my ID and my legal name also in the billing records they used to charge me for this name correction.
I would never use them again and just book directly with the airline. It's not worth the slight savings - when I could instead be accumulating frequent flyer points anyway.
Tip for consumers:
Cancelled flights are only issued in ‘flight credit’ to be booked with them. You do not receive a monetary refund.

Hi there, we are so sorry you had this trouble changing your name. Can you please DM us your reservation code and email so we can provide updated training for the agents who helped you as well as make sure everything gets sorted?
As an FYI, you can still accumulate frequent flyer points when you book with us, just make sure you go to the airline's website, bring up your reservation and add your frequent flyer number to the reservation. As for refunds, all refund and credit policies are dependent on airline policy.
My credit card had to be verified by email it doesn't look professional to have to verify by sending a picture of your passport and credit card, I really thought it's a scam.

BFF won a trip to Germany and of course i didnt want to miss the fun BUT pricing was an issue. After weeks of research and giving up; i fould this flight at half the price of the other websites. Confirmation within a day of booking and not a budget airline for the win.

I was pretty excited to purchase my ticket because the price was advertised pretty cheap. I entered all of my information and when I went to pay the price increases by 60 dollars. Literally from the time I entered my information to the time I went to buy. I tried to call customer service and the guy said he couldn't do anything for me and basically said I had to just pay the extra 60. He wasn't helpful and was rude.

NEVER USE Student Universe! I purchased a trip with travel insurance, canceled my trip in advance due to heavy flu, and contacted Student Universe and the insurance company for a refund. Go through a hard and complex process to file a claim, but they refused to refund me one month later.

Hi Kathy, sorry you felt that way. We saw you canceled the booking, a non-refundable ticket, on the airline's website, but if you would like a refund, you needed to submit a request to the airline. If you were declined by the airline, you could still file a claim to the insurance company with documents submitted. We suggest you contact the insurance company again if your request was declined by them. However, even if the airline and the insurance company turned you down, StudentUniverse would still love to assist you with such request. We could submit a refund request to the airline due to medical reason with your supported documents. There's no guarantee that you will receive a full refund, as it is the airline that determines whether your case is accepted or not.
To make a long story short, after looking into my complaint the company issued a full tefund of my ticket. My suggestion is to write to the company via their website and to lodge a complaint with the BBB. It seems that i got their attention that way.

I recently tried booking a flight from Toronto to Newark but after going through the entire process, including providing my payment details, the website informed me that there was a problem processing my request and I should try again later. Some time later I received an email saying that there is a flight in my cart and that I should go back to complete the transaction. I chose to use another site since I didn't want to waste time trying again just to be told that it couldn't be processed. Three days before the flight I was surprised to get en email from StudentUniverse with a reminder about my flight. I immediately called in to ask why they think I booked a flight since when I tried I was told they couldn't process the flight. The rep told me there is nothing they can do since it is in the hands of the airline. I could't convince them that they should take responsibility for their mistakes. I will never trust this company again.
