I learned about the Prime student deal from TikTok. I was glad to have found it because I couldn't afford the $550 ticket home for the holidays. I woke up at 3am when new tickets were released and the site was overloaded for over two hours. I was thankful to get my discounted tickets so I'm not completely upset. Just for next year maybe anticipate overloading and add more servers so the process goes a little smoother

Used student Universe for the first time after reading both good and bad reviews. Hopefully the don't have issues with overbooking and cancellations. I will update this review after I have completed my trip with ease. Here's hoping for the best.

Got VirginAus credits after the border shutdown. Three months later when I try to rebook a flight, they charge me $150 more than what's available on Virgin website and when I asked for refund because they are not fairly charging me, they said it was voluntary cancellation by me (what?!) not Virgin so can't guarantee for refund. Any how I requested for refund and it's on progress. The way they dealt with the matter over the phone wasn't sincere at all! Such a disappointing!
Just check their own website selling the same ticket for $170 less than what they charged me. Unfair!
Tip for consumers:
Never book a flight with them!!!

I have found that with wanting to go from New York to anywhere internationally they are always the cheapest. In fact a lot of the time the flight to New York costs more than the flight to London or wherever you're going

Dreadful experience trying to cancel my flights. In the 24hrs immediately following my reservation, I attempted multiple times to call SU customer service to cancel it. I waited for 1-2 hrs each time (photo) and STILL couldn't get to them despite being told I was the "first in queue." Twice I left my phone number with them as they promised they would note down my place in line and would call me back, but no one ever called.
If you want to enforce the policy that flights can only be cancelled for free for 24hrs, and ONLY through phone, then you better pick up the damn phone. Please don't pull the coronavirus excuse with me, as I was the "first in queue," unless you are lying to your customers. If I can't get through after repeated calls, sometimes non-stop, then it's YOUR responsibility to cancel and refund my reservation. Or you should've given me other alternatives to cancel to begin with.

I purchase plane tickets during the Prime Student sales for Christmas, and I was able to contact a representative very quickly. They were very helpful and followed up to make sure that I was able to get my flight

I had booked a round trip flight from JFK(New york) to BLR(Bangalore, India) on 18th December. Had a layover in saudi arabia jedahh airport for 13 hrs. Initially while booking they had not mentioned anywhere about the transit visa. But today morning that a transit visa is required if layover is more 12 hrs. I tried calling them and asking for a reschedule but none were available. I had to cancel the booking. 120$ Student universe cancellation fee and also 250$ airline cancellation fee is there it seems. Huge loss for us.

We're sorry that you were not aware of the need for a Transit Visa. We do have a Transit Visa filter on our search page that helps passengers select their flight (and where their layover will be) based on visa requirements. This is also stated below the itinerary under "additional restrictions that apply to this ticket" and website Terms of use.
I found a great deal for a flight I was trying to book a few months ago that were almost double the price as I found on Student Universe. This site will always be a site I use to find reasonably priced flight options.

I got a very good fare for a Dublin to Santiago, Chile one way trip. Easy to book and se ure, as I got a phone call to confirm the e pense immediately. I received the ticket a few minutes afterwards. Great experience!

I moved over 2,500 miles away from home for college, so flights are necessity to see my family for get together and holidays. I was looking for a cheap flight from LAX to Copenhagen to be with my newly wed wife for two weeks and thought it would cost me at least $1500 but we found this site which the flight was only $500 saving us so much to spend on each other.

I found a great price for a direct flight on united, I provided all information and payment information, after loading for several minutes it ended up with message "Pending Purchase Information, We are unable to confirm your flight reservation."
On calling support agents, it was known that price might have went up high. Searching again, I found same results and again same error, this time support agent mentioned your credit card MIGHT not have accepted.
I tried with other card and same error poped up, by this time agent was not helpful anymore.
Finally I gave up on that day and selected next day, went throughall steps and ended up exact same page with pending message.
Waste of time and very frustracted.

I compared prices for a flight from London and found StudentUniverse's to be much cheaper. I am not a student and am older so was worried I would not qualify but I just filtered for flights available to me and saved $$$.
