I was fortunate to be assisted by Lisa (ext. 2001) today and was very impressed with her willingness to assist me and answer any question I had regarding my lease transfer. She was very professional and genuinely cared to help me. She had a friendly tone and great positive attitude throughout our conversation over the phone. I am very grateful to have been assisted by such a kind individual. I will definitely recommend SwapaLease to my friends and family because of people like her.
Well, I do want to transfer my lease out in 1 ~ 2 months, so I contacted them. They give me the packages and estimate of how long it takes to find a buyer. I asked about the how much incentives I should give to make the deal happen in a reasonable time, they provided a number and I followed. They also suggest to pay more on "advertiser package" rather than incentives. I followed every suggestion, and by now, I have no contacts at all. All my inquiries got no response. They just try to sell you the most expensive packages and it's over.
I was extremely fortunate to have worked with Lisa at Swapalease. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about GM Financial and GM leases. This is the first time I've ever used Swapalease or 'swapped' my lease out. She took the time to walk me through each step of the process. She was quick to respond to my emails and I had a buyer call me within 5 minutes of her posting my vehicle on their site. I highly recommend utilizing Swapalease and working with Lisa if you are considering using their site. Thanks again Lisa! :)
I decided to get rid of my car and needed to have someone take over the lease. I contacted Swapalease and spoke to Marc Baker. He immediately and patiently guided me with the process, helped me write the car description/profile, post the pictures, and was always there if I had any questions or concerns. Within a relatively short period of time advertising the car, the lease was assumed without any hiccups. I would highly recommend Swapalease to get rid of your car or maybe to find a good deal.
They just deactivated my account for not update or simply tried to log in after couple of weeks after I paid 299 for my membership this people are truly thieves! Do not proceed with these scam like website. You rather ad your vehicle on your own way cheaper and safer
Waste of money I had my car listed from November till June when I took it down out of frustration and decided to keep the car. Called a few times and had ad updated still nothing. Contacted them today and asked for the ad to be removed and requested a refund to be told I would not get one because I didn't reach out to a specific person she could have made that better well why didn't you do that in the first place? Then was told it typically takes 90-120 days it's been way past that. Then the rep blamed the lack of attention on Covid-19 even though the ad was placed months before the pandemic.
Trish, I would like to apologize for a bad experience. I wish we had control over our marketplace or consumer demand. There are usually a few reasons why a car does find a buyer. Please reach out to me, I would like to look at your listing and see what extra I can do to help. Please email me at jnovak@swapalease.com or direct message here at your convenience. I cannot find you in our system with the information on this website.
Despite reading bad reviews i decided to give it a try and i was stupid. My account manager is Vernon who tried to sell me the highest package and since then has not been of any help and has not contacted me or returned my calls.
We have a live support team available 6 days a week. Please reach out to me at jnovak@swapalease.com I would like to look at your listing and I will do everything I can to help out.
Worst customer service experience. Poor communication resulting in frustration and confusion. Seller and I were so confused what to do next. Sales rep & refinancing rep were missing & ghosting us all the time. Tried calling them, email them and left voice messages multiple times to make things work.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appologize for the bad experiece. Please reach out to me directly here so that I can look into your account and I will do everything I can to make things right.
If you think you are simply taking over a lease (the value the original leasee was paying) guess again. Think about it - they'll have to make money, right? You'll get charged with a ton of fee that you didn't expect... LOL
Swapalease charges a one-time for the sellers, listing their lease until sold. Buyers pay a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. The lease transfer fee and any applicable taxes or registration fees is done through your local DMV and is handled by the individuals leasing company. We have no hidden or extra fees.
I posted my request for a lease assumption on multiple sites and ended up transferring the lease using swapalease. They were the only site where all interested parties were potential buyers and not scammers. Would skip the other sites if I went through the process again. Also, hats off to Nick Wilmers who did all the work of posting for me and had the listing up within minutes of a few minute phone call—thanks Nick!
There is a total lack of communication between Swap A Lease representatives and a seller. Left numerous messages with no response and asked a potential buyer to reach out directly to our contact there. And again... no response. They don't tell you about hidden costs from your Leaseholder, in our case there was a $500 transfer fee and $150 application fee for our buyer. That's $650 they never tell you about and they expect you to offer some type of incentive for your buyer on top of that! Stay away from Swap a Lease!
We are sorry to hear that you have not been happy with our service. Your account manager should have made it clear the transfer fee associated with your leasing company. We do our best to remain as transparent as possible in our marketplace. We have leasing company information posted on each listing and the fee is typically paid for by the new lessee or buyer. Please contact me directly so that I can find you in our system to help improve our services.
I never got a call on my car, the associate never got back to me once I signed up, and the website posting expires in 60 days. Complete waste of $200. My craigslist posting got more calls at that was $5.
Our listings do not expire after 60 days. All vehicles are listed until sold for a one-time advertising fee. There is a required login activity every 30 days and if the listing is deactivated because the seller has not logged in to their listing, we will reactivate at any time for no fee. Please contact us directly so that we can look at your listing and do what we can to help out.
This service was perfect for what I needed.
My account manager Lisa Feldman was wonderful. Ask for her at Extension 2001.
Well worth the limited cost for the service.
Would use again without hesitation.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. She does do a great job. We have shared your feedback with the Swap Team and we hope that you will tell your friends about us!
I just transferred my lease on a 2017 Lincoln Navigator with the help of my personal account manager Lisa Feldman, ext 2001. I am beyond happy with the level of customer service she provided. I only had 3 months left on the lease and she quickly got my car up and "searchable". When my first transfer candidate pulled out, just as we were completing all The contracts, i was devastated. I didn't think i had time left to start again. I emailed Lisa and she got the search Going.
Within 1 week i had a new transfer candidate and the contracts have been signed And the car has been officially transferred. Lisa was so attentive and available, i will absolutely call on her again. Oh- all this happened during the COVID 19 pandemic!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here! We appreciate you choosing Swapalease!
Very unsatisfied with this company. Takes forever to have someone take over your car lease. The 350 dollar deposit to get your car on the site is NON REFUNDABLE. They never told me that upfront so now I am out 350 dollars and still stuck with my lease. Very misleading.
We are sorry to hear that you have not been happy with our service. Please contact me directly so that I can find you in our system, look at your account and make suggestions about what we can do to better help you our of your lease.
Due to the pandemic, I decided to move back home to be with my family so I needed to find someone to take over my car lease. I reached out online to SwapaLease and Ron Becker called me immediately. He was fantastic! He guided me through the whole process and was always available to answer my questions. I was able to find someone to take over the lease within 2 weeks.
Ron was reassuring and helpful during a difficult time. I admit I was nervous about the process, but Ron made it easy. Thank you for your excellent customer service.
Wonderful news during such a tough time for everyone! We appreciate you giving us a chance to help you. Thanks for sharing your experience here.
I worked with Lisa to get my car listed on Swapalease. Lisa was great and helped set me up right away. She explained the process and made the entire process seamless. Within the day, my car had been listed along with my photos. Without Swapalease and Lisa, I would not have been able to get rid of my car as quickly as I did. Lisa was a pleasure to work with!
Told me my car would sell in 45 days. Six months later only on interested buyer how was not so interested. Then listed the vehicle as sold when it wasn't. A real ripoff. Tried to call an Kaz who I have been working with didn't want to answer any question. Stay away that's my opinion
Extremely overpromised and under delivered. Waste of time and money. Everyone I got in contact with was making beyond ridiculous offer or could not get approved by MBFS. They said all these buyers are pre approved. Don't waste your time or money with these people. All of the members contacted were pure roaches. Not educated about the value of the vehicle or lease payment for that matter. Example is, some of them would offer $500 per month on $******* car, which doesn't exist anywhere. I will never try to use this service again. Failing concept for sure.
We are happy to do a few things to help out. You've had over 2,600 direct views on your listing and 12 registered buyer that have showed interested in your vehicle. We do prequalify our buyers that we talk to before they register but we do not pre-approve buyers. It wouldn't make a difference for our seller because the approval is up to the respective leasing company and is done case-by-case. We will contact you to go over a few options, we'd like to make things right and help find you a qualified buyer!
We put a 2018 Buick Casada on swaplease which had only 3000 miles and had not one inquiry. We found our own buyer, but when they added all their own costs and fees, it became too expensive for that purchase to buy out the lease. What a waste of time and money. Don't do it
Our account manager Nick was great, very professional. He explained all the options and how the process would, setting expectations and timeframes. It was less than 2 days before we would make contact with the ultimate buyer.
Highly recommend the service.
Rep suggested I purchase a membership to contact sellers. He said a discount is offered. Call dropped before completing signup. Registered online without discount because they never picked up phone. Bery disappointed as it seems there is a limit on many sellers you can contact. I think 8. How can they expect to find a car with only 8 sellers half of which had their cars "not available" even though the ads says the are.
Roland, thanks for letting us know here about the vehicles. The contact count can be replenished at any time. It is a way for us to monitor use and help preview fishing scams to protect our private sellers. Simply call or email us and we will reset the contacts. Also, please contact our support to help check the status so that we can verify is the vehicles are available. It is up to the seller to let us know the status of their transfer. Even though we have measures in place to help with accuracy, there are times that the seller does not keep their listing up to date.
I couldn't believe it! My car got so much interest and sold very quickly. In fact, the first person to contact me did so within five minutes of my listing going live and was the person I sold it to.
Lisa Feldman at extension 2001 was my personal account manager and I highly recommend her. Lisa is truly dialed in! She and others were always available for questions and guidance, whether by email or phone.
My car was a hot commodity, so you may not have the same experience if yours is not, but I can tell you that swap-a-lease really works and is legit. By the way, I went for the least expensive package as I figured I would get a lot of interest and I was right.

Swapping a lease
I would give zero stars if I could because that's how useless the swap a lease was. I had to pay $200 to put pictures I took of my own car on the website, had the pictures up there for two months and no responses. I advertised my car on Facebook marketplace and had five buyers in the first two days. Then when I tried to let the buyers know to go to swap a lease, I was told that I had to fill out a credit application and send it to the potential buyers. I had assumed that swap a lease would help with the information transfer to get me out of my lease, turns out I paid $200 to advertise my car when I should have tried to find a buyer through Facebook, mercari, cregslist, or any other legit site. Biggest waste of time and money -10 out of 10 would recommend this site.
Our website is an advertising marketplace for a DIY process. We cannot fill out or complete any legal paperwork with either party. It's great if you can share your listing on other platforms to find a buyer. It usually does not work out though on a CL of FB Marketplace because buyers do not shop those websites for lease transfers. We try to vet our buyers so they understand the requirements and the process. I will email you directly to see what extra we can do to help out.
After payming my membership. I made about 15 calls of available listing but none of them got reachable. All calls were forwarded to voice box. Then I was told I reached the maximum call limits. I tried to contact the help but everyting was gone.
I am highly skeptical that this business is a fraud. If not, they shouldn't charge the buyer and hide the seller info. Never trust them.
Tip for consumers:
Just fraud. Never trust this.

I found a vehicle that I wanted to purchase on my very first visit to swapalease.com. It took almost a week for someone to reach out to me so that I could pay the one time fee. I had several questions about finance rates and Swapalease's role in registering the vehicle. I sent emais, made phone calls to customer service and left vmails. To date (7-8 weeks later), no one has returned any of my correspondence. Because of my frustration, I ended up losing out on what I believe was a fantastic vehicle and the owner is still trying to sell.
Tip for consumers:
I would never recommend swapalease to anyone interested in buying or selling a vehicle

I've been using swapalease.com for 13 years now and their malpractices to coerce a customer into listing a car have become kind of retaliatory. For example, if I intend to list a car to transfer it's lease and in the middle of creating the listing - right at the beginning itself, if I decide not to move forward for whatever reason, they deactivate your account completely and lock you out! This is how dumb way their website is created. And on top of that they keep using this nonsense logic of "helping to list your car notion" when the customer doesn't even want to do it, but has to now call them to somehow get the account going again becasue they lock you out of the account. Pathetic way of doing business!
Tip for consumers:
Very bad malpractices about listing a car - too expensive and even if you decide not to list a car, they retaliate by locking your account completely!!
Swapalease.com is the number one car lease transfer marketplace. Get out of your auto lease early without penalties or take over an existing short term lease
This is not an issue and happens all the time. Either the sellers do not log in to their account after 30 days, or there is a time restriction from the leasing company. We can easily reactivate your listing if you can contact me at jnovak@swapalease.com so that I can find you in the system and I am happy to take care of you.
