T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
Bad service and charging more money from my account with out telling me. Customer service rude and out of country and even don't understand English. Hard to communicate

My mom had them when they bought ia wireless out and have taken advantage of her from the start. And we didn't even get good signal or Wi-Fi signal. 2 bars at most because we apparently were in a dead spot. I would never recommend them for anything!

On the 10Feb2024, it took a whole team at the mall of America at the team mobile store just to change a new phone.
First they said they was going to charge me $17 if they change the number in store and they wanted for me to call 611.
So I called for 611. They couldn't change my number and when I threatened to cancel T-Mobile all of a sudden they were able to change my number and not even chargee the $17. Wow. I hope the managers are seeing this another 4 lines will be cancelled. Verizon here we come. Ive been with T-Mobile for over 14 plus years... I was loyal they wasn't. Never again.

I dislike T-Mobile! I never experienced high bills until l became a T-Mobile customer. Their representative are not very professional they make you feel some type of way. T-Mobile is all about making money not taking care of their customers! I can't believe Sprint is gone and left me with this horrible service.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. If you have any issues, you will have little chance at getting any resolution with completely incompetent offshore customer service in Mexico and Philippines. They will run you around in circles and refuse to let you speak with managers, supervisors or any US personnel. I hope the US leadership of this company will read how pathetic and ineffective their customer service is.

Customer service is a total waste of time!

Offshoring customer service from a US-based company to the Philippines is the absolute worst decision any company can make. Corporate fat-cats don't understand that non-US based personnel have no clue how to deal with Americans nor understand how to solve anything. They will just pretend to solve a problem after waiting an hour to talk to someone, and then the problem will reappear the next day just to be told by the same customer service that they had no way of ever resolving the problem and the last rep gave the wrong info. There is no hope left in large phone carriers. Once Sprint was eaten by T-Mobile, that was the last of the US-based customer service. Now, none of the other large carriers have U.S. based customer service. I hope more people will express their disgust with this type of offshoring.

I have been with T-mobile for years. Service and pricing are very competitive and service was OK. Lately I can not even get a person to answer the phone for just some simple questions I have for my business account. The hold times are worst that state or Government departments and when someone does finally answer you are transferred to someone else who also never answers the phone. 49 minutes then hung up and called again later and 35 mind. Tried calling in the early evening only to be on hold for 30 min then transferred again to be on hold for 20 min before just hanging up. This type of service is mow the new normal for them. I spent almost $500 a month on my company's cell phone service and will be looking at AT &T and Verizon. They are going way down hill. Even the cable companies are better at answering the phones

The T-mobile customer has gone so bad. It is as bad as DMV. Long hold time. Hard to understand customers service with bad English. I was so good when they took over Sprint. Now its like Sprint all over again with horrible wait time.

I really wish I could go through life without needing a mobile phone. T-mobile and verizon are both terrible terrible companies that bring you on with false promotions. Even after clarifying issues before signing up they will say yes just to get you to sign on. As soon as they can get your money, I honestly don't think they could care less. Getting in contact with someone is almost near impossible and have waited hours to talk to someone UNLESS you state how frustrated you are with the company.
Tip for consumers:
Only use if you absolutely have to. Don't believe their promotions half the time

After 20 years at At&t I just brought 5 phone lines and 2 watches over to T-mobile. "We'll pay off your old phones"- bait and switch. "We'll credit $150 for bringing in the watches"- bait and switch. "We have internet available at your address"- bait and switch. "We'll pay up to $500 for your trade in"- scam/ bait and switch. The number of times and number of hours spent calling customer service, starting over, submitting receipts, and clicking broken email/ text links is absolutely unreal. 2 watch lines still don't work and I am dreading calling back- I've already held and spoken to them twice for this. They made good on NONE of their promotional offers. My family has been robbed.

Hey charge for a device that they advertise is free in exchange of old phone. When I asked if my monthly payment will stay the same they said absolutely. But they charge extra every month and they lie when I call saying the will credit back but they don't. Big lawsuit

I would have given them 0 stars if it was an option. There are no words that can express my anger and disappointment. When I upgraded my phone I was offered a case and a screen protector for $40 each claiming a lifetime warranty. To sell me this product I was told, if anything happens I just had to visit a store and they would replace the screen protector at no cost. Never did the individual mention that the warranty only covers product defects and nothing else. All of T-Mobile is false advertising and a rip-off. They will only take your money and when you try to file a claim, they tell there's nothing they can do. I'm so irritated I plan to switch. > :/

This has to be the worse customer service of all cell phone providers. Every mistake made by the unknowledgeable customer service representative is pushed back on the customer financially. In this day and age where companies are going out of business left and right one would think this company would provide a decent service/product. Can't wait for them to stand in the unemployment line! I would not recommend t mobile under any circumstances!

My Tracfone broke and T-mobile has a store minutes from home. The T-mobile salesman was friendly but utterly dishonest. He never mentioned the $90 per month plan he placed me on. I agreed to $60 per month but only because this included Netflix membership but was three times what Tracfone was charging me. Once I knew the truth many days later and wanted to disconnect, additional staff including the store manager made leaving T-Mobile as difficult as possible. Based on my experience, I'd strongly urge you never patronize this disreputable company. Paul
Tip for consumers:
Very dishonest company. Gouging the poor schmuck who enters their store for ever cent they can extract was my only experience. Nothing positive to say except the store location was near home.

It has been a month of service failure daily. The narrative is tower maintenance. In a month you can erect an entire cellular tower. If you have any other providers I would be certain to do your dur diligence. Whoever is in charge of providing internet and data service really should change career paths.

Avoid if at all possible.

Though I was with T-mobile for almost a year, I was never able to make phone calls on their network because I was in a dead zone. They sent me two cell spots which never worked either. When I finally transferred to another service provider T-mobile still billed me the full $50 for 3 days of non-service. Even worse than Verizon with it's bait and switch.

Piss poor customer service on so many levels. Overall policy and protocols is the furthest thing from convenient on a customer. And what really gets me is the recording When you're waiting on hold for hours of your day to just be transferred on top of transferred on top of calls dropped to have to call back, the recording States we are valued customers which is clearly a joke. I am literally nauseous from the difficulty in trying to Simply get a transfer PIN number so that I can go back to Metro or boost or cricket which all three of these companies are astronomically better in so many ways.
Tip for consumers:
It's stressful enough when you lose a phone, so ONCE I FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET MY "TRANSFER PIN" *WHILE MY PHONE MISSING
+ NO WAY TO GET TO store ANYTIME SOON,
I WILL CHANGE PROVIDERS...
& WITHOUT DOUBT - I WILL *NEVER RECOMMEND *or COME BACK TO T-MOBILE AGAIN...

Received text message stating I would lose my auto pay discount if I do not change payment method from credit card to debit card. Called for explanation. Was told new policy was implemented in response to customers who dispute credit card charges to avoid paying bills. I have had T-Mobile for years and never once missed payment, paid late, or disputed credit card charge. Why would a company make a policy penalizing most of their customers for the irresponsibility of a few customers? It would certainly be a better business practice to deal directly with the problem customers. We asked to speak with supervisor who confirmed explanation we were provided was correct. We are changing cell phone providers as we refuse to deal with a company we feel does not genuinely care about their "good" customers and who we no longer trust.

This company is CROOKED. I traded 2 paid for phones in for new phones with a promotion, 800 per phone was to be applied over the course of the 2 year contract. It was never applied. Im now paying 65 extra per month for the last year and a half, or they are going to charge me the early term fees plus whats owed on the phones... which is more that what we should have owed in the first place. They stole our phones, and now are stealing our money... do not give this company your business... never again..

I haven't even had their internet for a month and they do maintenance on the tower I'm getting WiFi from without telling me. Whatever they did now my internet won't stay connected for more then a few minutes. I run my business with this internet and after spending 5 hours of my time on the phone they sent me in circles and nobody seems to know why it won't connect. One of their staff says I need some sort of an upgrade using a term I didn't know and after 30 minutes on hold I forgot what it was. She didn't bother putting it in the notes and expected me as a customer to pass the message along to tech support - I don't even know their terms. My internet still doesn't work and I called this morning to ask to speak to a supervisor and they told me nobody was available but I'd get a call back it's been hours - no call. If you have a business don't bother it will lose you money.

I have had Tmobile as my carrier for over a decade. Due to layoffs affecting our household we needed to save money, so I cancelled cell service. Its has been 6 weeks since I cancelled and I had not yet received my refund of 28.31(which seems too little) I called today and asked when I was going to receiving my refund. I was told you only receive a refund if you request one. What?!? Thats a pretty sketchy business practice. I then asked for my refund. Tmobile Rep asked for my PIN to process my request. But I do not have a PIN, I have no idea what it is due to the fact that it would have been created over a decade ago and long lost/forgotten. I offered all sorts of personal information to help them locate my closed account. Nope... they can only access it with my PIN, because they are "protecting me from fraud". The only fraud going on here is Tmobile stealing peoples refunds.

I don't even know how they're still in business. I switched to T-Mobile over 3 months ago and I still have to call weekly because they keep screwing up information and don't understand what I'm saying when I call customer service. This entire company is just a SCAM. Biggest waste of my time and money. I will never recommend T-Mobile to anybody.
Tip for consumers:
$#*!tiest customer service ever. You’re constantly running in circles with them because they can’t figure out anything even though they TELL you it is all good and figured out… it NEVER is! Don’t sign your contract with them and pay the extra few bucks ANYWHERE ELSE.

We had 4 lines with TMobile. Service was garbage in our area so we switched to Verizon. I paid my final bill and was sent 4 letters (1 per phone) explaining I'd be responsible for the purchase price if I don't return them. I wanted to keep the phones so I was fine with that, especially since it was only $125. Now I'm sitting with a bill for $410 in front of me while I'm sitting on hold waiting on a supervisor. This hold is AFTER spending 40+ minutes talking to a rep that kept putting me on hold to speak with the supervisor that's supposedly too busy to take a call now. As you can see per my screen shot I am now past the hour mark. Apparently nobody wants to address why my $125 purchase agreement for the equipment turned into a $372 equipment payment

They offer paramount plus on them for 1 yr free. Then they charge you. When you call they say it just basic not premium. But it does not state that. It's a bate and switch. Against the law. False advertising. Such a scam. Worst phone company I ever had. Also offer rewards for referrals then do not honor it. Wow

Tried over 2 week period to transfer mobile # to new provider. Dealt with 2 managers at this office that is now closed. The last day I had everything they asked. The office manager had to make one last call to main office which he refused to do because of similar requests the previous days. Had to change Mobil #. This has caused MANY problems over many months. Worst experience of my 80 years of life. Don't do business with them
