T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
We have been with Sprint for over 15 years and when my Dad died they transferred me to a special department but I didn't have the death certificate yet so they said just call back and we will help you.
When called back I got a Sales rep insisting he has 10 months left and refused to transfer me. We were going to keep our phones, watches and tablet but she refused and kept saying Im sorry for your loss but he has 10 left on his contract. I told her that there's a department that deals with this and she said No. I explained we still have our phones, watches and a tablet so you're about to lose a lot of business bc you're being greedy, stubborn and don't know what you are doing check the notes this is ridiculous she said again sorry for your loss I told her stop saying that bc you don't mean it
I told her I'll just call back and speak to someone else who knows what they're doing better yet I'm going into the store. They know my dad personally and I said goodbye. Before I got to the store she deleted our entire account every line and device we couldn't access the account or even transfer our numbers. Thanks for 15 years of service and being a gold star member?

I researched very well to purchase a new phone for one of my sons and an Apple Watch for the other one. The parents' cell phones are provided through work, so we needed to set up new accounts for this. After my extensive research on plans and pricing, T-mobile won... I thought. I ordered it all on 11/29 and was excited to see that the order would ship 12/14-28... until nothing happened. I checked the order on 12/30 only to find out that it had been cancelled with no notice whatsover. No email, no call, nothing.
I called their customer service number which made me wait for an hour for a call back and then another 31 minutes on hold to find the available customer service. Representative #1 had no clue why the order had been cancelled and after waiting for another 10 minutes on hold, she transferred me to Representative #2 who also couldn't figure it out. She asked me to hold while she transferred me to the sales division, only to wait on hold until the call was terminated by them! I wasted 2 hours of my life that day on hold to find nothing about the order but I did learn a valuable lesson: AVOID T-MOBILE! The meager savings are not worth the hassle.

I received a flyer from T-Mobile and decided because the offer was so good to call. I've been with Verizon for over 30 years with no problems, but their advertised plan was too good not to check into. Long story short, I was blatantly lied to over and over again. They pulled my credit when I said they were not they sent me phones on a payment plan, which I never agreed to, but worst of all Each phone call I made lasted easily 60 minutes, repeating myself each and every time because they knew nothing of my last phone call. I will never get that time of my life back, but I have never experienced such horrific customer service and all of my life. I was told they were pulling the audio tapes of the call I made when the order was placed. They said it would be escalated to their "off-line" management team, who would then review the recording to review what was said. When I finally spoke to a "supervisor" he refused to acknowledge how blatantly I was lied to and that they never planned on hold anyone accountable. I would not wish that experience on my worst enemy. It's not just bad customer service it's a net work of lying thieves.

I had been a Sprint customer for 10 years, oh and by the way work in Big Tech. Once my account changed from Sprint to TM, I could not pay my bill online, because I couldn't get their stupid code text messaged to me on their Sprint/TMobile Phone. Five months in a row I spent 2 hours a month to fix it SO I COULD GIVE THEM MONEY and they can't figure out technology for the Web or the phone. Don't waste your time, life is too short to put in that much effort to give them money.

My elderly parents had T-mobile and were on a month to month plan no contract. My 75 year old Navy veteran father is smarter than that to sign anything contract wise. My 70 year old mother would refer to my father before doing that as well. My sister and I spent over two hours at there home trying to transfer service from T-mobile to a different carrier. We had to call T-mobile three times to get pin numbers to make the transfer mind you not once was in mentioned that there was a early termination fee or that the phones would be blocked. We called back a third time to discuss the fact that they were not under contract and to see about getting the block removed and TRISHA agent number ******* only kept repeating that we just need to pay the fee. When asking to speak to a supervisor or manager she just kept repeating pay the fee pay the fee and I can not transfer you just pay the fee. They will not be paying this company any money going forward. This is unacceptable to take advantage of the older generation shame on you!

I was with Verizon for many years, their customer service became terrible (m nearly imposible to speak with a human) so I decided to give the 'new' T Mobile. What a total disappointment!
From the outset ( about 3 months ago) their signal strength was very poor in any building, even 1 ft away from a door or window, so I finally got tired & decided to call tech support. After waiting for a customer service rep, was greeted by 2 very nice ladies. I was transferred to a tech support person who promised to call at 4:30 which didn't happen til 5:30, he asked I do several things, said it was best to get rid of the physical SIM card & use the Electronic one. Far from improving things got even worse, he stated he was gonna send to another tech but it would take 2-4 days (!) So I called back, when thru a bunch questions & nothing improved, not surprisingly, suddenly the call got disconnected again. This person said if we got disconnected he'd call back which of course never happened. Interestingly, neither one of the times I received a request for my 'feedback'
It's back to Verizon. Stay away from this company!

I ordered a prepaid sim card that was defective. Each time I call they transfer me from one department to another for about an hour. One call ended with a promise that I would receive an email to send it in for the refund (I never received the email). Another call ended with a "we've got it all taken care of, just take the card in to a tmobile store." I took it to a store and they said they can't take it. Two different tmobile employees tried calling in on my behalf. One was hung up on and the other was transferred around for over an hour and finally gave up.
So... After about ten hours on multiple calls I am unable to get a simple return for a defective product. I just have to lose my $42 (and ten hours). Again, nobody is desputing anything. Everyone agrees that it should be returned. They are just apparently unable to do it and/or unwilling to take the time to do it. It's quite remarkable really.
The staff at the various T-mobile stores I've been to were fine. This review is about the phone support.

I've been a loyal T-Mobile customer for four years now, but I have to say that my recent experiences have left me incredibly frustrated and disappointed with their service.
Firstly, on multiple occasions, I've logged into my account, only to find someone else's information on my account. This is a concerning breach of privacy and security, and it has happened at least three times during my tenure with T-Mobile. It's unsettling to think that my personal information might be accessible to others as well.
Another issue I encountered was when I traded in my iPhone 11 for the iPhone 14, which I intended to give as a gift. I called T-Mobile to get the device unlocked, but instead of assisting me, it felt like they thought I was trying to cut off other lines. I spoke with not one but two customer service representatives who both assured me the phone was unlocked. To my frustration, it wasn't. Even when I escalated the issue to a supervisor, I received the same false promises. My phone remains locked, despite being fully paid off.
What adds to my dissatisfaction is the inconsistency in customer service responses and the feeling that they are not being upfront and honest. It's incredibly frustrating to be misled repeatedly.
To make matters worse, when I requested my port-out pin, they refused to provide it. This lack of cooperation and support is the last straw for me.
I'm fed up with the unreliable service, privacy breaches, and the recurring dishonesty from T-Mobile. It's with a heavy heart that I say I'm done with T-Mobile and will be looking for a more trustworthy and reliable mobile service provider.

I hate Tmobile. I wish Sprint was still here. Today I spoke with 7 customer service reps trying to resolve an unauthorised charge on my phone bill and I couldn't understand any of the overseas foreign accent cs reps. Waste of my time. Super mad. How dare this company give jobs away to foreigners. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO COMMUNICATE OUR NEEDS TO PEOPLE AS CUSTOMERS IF WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND THEM. I asked for someone who spoke english and I just was transferred 6 more times to foreigners I couldn't converse with. I hope tmobile goes out of business. This company could care less about its customers. I called the headquarters phone number and spoke to an apathetic operator who just transferred me to another foreigner. When I need a new phone I am getting rid of tmobile. Tmobile sucks. I hate them. Don't give them your hard earned money. I bet when I cancel my service I get an english speaking person. Really mad.

SO I send my note 5 in due to hardware issues after only having the phone a couple of months, phone has had protective screen AND phone case protecting it since day 1!
I send it in and a few weeks later and notice a $400 charge on my profile! So I call and they tell me there was a little crack on the back of the phone! 1.) There was NOT any crack on the phone and 2.) $400 for a crack?!?!
I called irate and, kindly they credit me $100. So that leaves $300 for me to pay, for a crack that I did NOT put on the phone... $300 to a phone I no longer have and will never have again. I, like a million others cannot afford to pay $300 for nothing, and that's how I see it, NOTHING. I am not getting anything out of this!
I call to see if they can work with me a little more, as much as it pains me, i'd pay half and they pay half since "it's word of mouth, we don't know how the crack really got there" meaning it could have been during the transition to the warehouse, or hell, a worker could have dropped it taking it out of the box, I don't know! BUT no, they can't do anything more and now i'm stuck with this high $#*! bill or leaving Tmobile and having this affect my credit!
I'm torn as to what to do! They've mentioned "you can set up payment plans" well, that's great, still doesn't make me feel any better about using $300 of my hard earned money towards crap of theirs that didn't work in the first place!
I have been a customer since 2007 and left for a few months in 2014 (to go on a friends line) then came back, but I will be leaving again once all this crap is done with.

We were Sprint customers for 20 plus years when T-Mobile purchased them. The service is God awful in Sugar Land, Texas and has worked intermittently with lots of dropped calls or people not being able to hear you although you can hear them in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. We are canceling our service tonight and moving to another carrier.

IF you want a group of white collar crooks... YOU GOT THEM HERE. I had been on a plan of $40, for years. After no service because of computer problems apparently, spending three days trying to get my numbers transferred, and a phone...
The land of CORRUPTION kicks in across the PACIFIC. Some sales rep says over the phone, I was explained a new $50 plan! Nice try CONARTIST of tmobile, but I am in no need.
A perfect example Tmobile trying there illegal activities.

I had a brand new phone purchased was transfered all day ND had to wait on returned phone calls all day. They had Tmobile call back the guy tried to tell me what I can afford and why stay with us long if you have constant issues. I have car sh,a whole nother contract with watch that's slowing me down from switching. I no longer use the watch either cause noone can hear me on it and never have. A whole nother issue. I have other expenses they act like they'll switch me and get me another phone. The guy was extremely sarcastic. I'm looking into filing legal against them for stealing my money. I can hardly text or use my phone service x out daily. Miss calls, appointments, etc. They made it clear they don't give af. I can't talk to anyone, I can't text, have to constantly send text more than once. Calls drop can't have a conversation at all with family and friends... I have to legally resolve this they lie saying it'll be handled since the day I started service. Than blaming me for nor switching service cause I have a watch contract and other expenses first... This is bs. I would never ever even give them 1 star...

There was a service outage with tmoble on 6/15/2020. And my wife was trying to call me with emergency that my mother in law was taking to the hospital on emergency, but because of this unexeptable outage no one could get a hold of me. This is absolutely unexaptable! I need a manager call me. My number is 5O3-951-1963

I first and foremost just wanna say this service is so annoying that I took time out of my day just to write a review. Now it's not all bad, tmoble used to be a good service for me before they got 5g, now all it does is buffer, I have a note 20 ultra it has the option to run 2g. 3g, 4g lte or 5g, I've tried them all and none work just constantly buffering. I have a premium package with 6 lines, they say if I upgrade service plans and add another 130 dollars to my bill it will run smoother, I really want to believe them but if it's this $#*!ty I can only imagine what empty promises they are offering, my phones are almost paid off, as soon as they are I plan on going to a different provider. I hope I can help someone with this review, oh yea, if u wanna solve a problem with tmoble they will just tell u to turn off your ohone tgen tyrn it back on... they dont know how to do anything else besides that. Have a blessed day.

I signed up with to get service for my business May 2023. The Business Manager for the Clearwater FL area process the order and I guess he was not aware of our color. My son visit a St. Petersburg location to pick up a watch that was not available at Costco. They gave such a hard time even after showing ID'S.
One week later tMobile canceled our services and requested additional proof that we do owned the business. I sent, my tax ID, bank statement, my driver's license and incorporated docs. After speaking with several individuals and provided all that they requested, still said the account was flagged for possible fraud.
They said they want to speak to my bank manager. This was so offensive and insulting. This only happen because we are Black and I cannot believe that in 2023 Americans still cannot accept that black people can be legit!
Do not do any business with T- Mobile if you are a minority. They must show respect if you are spending your money with them.
Justin, the Clearwater manager was the worst. I called him more than 10 times and he did not return any of my calls. It seems he was the person who flag the account as fraudulent! He was spineless and unprofessional to say the least!
Later that night I returned their equipment to a store and Justin the Racist Manager was texting the clerk receiving the phones.
He still has not responded to any of my calls to find out what really changes since he opened the account. Extremely poor customer service.

I have an old T Mobile account that you only have to buy minutes to keep it active, no monthly charge. I had the old big sim card that I couldn't cut down to the nano size without damaging it for the new phone I got for Christmas. I took it into the shop at La Cantera in San Antonio, Texas and told a young man named Matthew about my situation. He took my old phone and got the sim card out of it, went to a desk computer and did his magic on a new nano sim, put it into my phone and it worked perfectly. He asked if I was a Military Veteran as I was wearing my Vietnam Service cap and thanked me for my service after I said yes. He gave me a discount and told me to come back or call if I needed anything else from T Mobile. It's was rewarding for me to see this respectful young man appreciate a Military Veteran and be very intelligent and professional at the same time. T Mobile you have my continued loyalty from this great experience!

Between the hours of 1025 am and 1030 am, I sit-down paying bills big and small calling my service/product providers and it comes down to T-Mobile. Yes T-Mobile! I am very anxious to talk to anyone there but this time I have to so that I understand my bills. Here it comes a rude, rushing customer service agent who makes a statement she doesn't know and not sure about; and then a supervisor who was informed by the previous one cutting me off before I finish my question. Without further TALK: I refused to take a REDUCTION on my monthly bill from him/SUPPERVISOR only because once again I want to leave them and disconnect a 6 lin family plan for the last 10 years and did not want to take reason for their first and last reason of being in this business which they display in every client encounter: MONEY! Money! Money; NOT PEOPLE!
