T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
Ordered a gateway internet device during a promo they had. Which was demo for 3 weeks for no charge and if I didn't like it I could send it back. I ended up trying to request a refund 2 days in only to learn they wouldn't not accept their own promo and they would bill me for the time. Which was fine. I wanted them out of my life. Only to spend 40 minutes on the phone to be hung up on and an hour and 15 minutes in a chat with one of their workers asking questions like," will anyone in your family want to use this if you cancel?" Especially when I was only chatting and calling to cancel. To which the worker told me I would not be charged for the cancelled service. Now we fast forward to the end of my first and last billing cycle. I had to call again and be on hold again to ensure they actually cancelled my service (they did not) and they wanted my monthly bill payment after I sent their gateway back. All in all a waste of time, money and effort. If you'd like to save any of those and the grey hairs they give you. Just stay away

In November, 2023, I took advantage of a T- mobile offer to add a 4th phone line and receive 3-4 free I-15 phone with trade-in. This was handled over the phone with a T-mobile customer service representative. We received 3 new I-15 phones and returned 3 trade in phones- 1 - I 12 Pro; 1- I-X; and 1- I-10. All were shipped through UPS between November 19-29 using the 3 boxes T-mobile provided. We received tracking information from UPS. When my February 2024 bill came in from T-mobile- it was $303.00 about $70.00 more than I was told it would be by the T-Mobile phone representative. After receiving my bill from T-mobile in February, I called customer service and spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with the T-mobile representative who looked through the records. She told me that apparently the problem was my trade in phone could not be located but she was able to find it and told me I would be credited for $60.00 on my next billing statement and the third trade-in phone would be credited to my account as well. When I received my March;2024 statement, my bill was even higher than the previous month to $330.00. Again, I called T-mobile customer service on 3/12/24 and spent a good amount of time with the representative who searched her system. She informed me their warehouse never received the third trade- in phone and they were unable to locate the the third phone. She informed me that she would put in a ticket for them to do a search for the phone. I explained the 3 phones were sent to T-mobile 4 months ago by UPS with tracking information. I am very concerned over this entire matter because the entire process of dealing with T-mobile customer service has been unreliable and I have received different information from each of the T-mobile customer representatives I have spoken with. It all seems very shady the way T-mobile is conducting business with their customers. To make things even more concerning about the way T-mobile does business with their customers, I found 57+ on line posts and customer complaints about T-mobile losing their trade in phone at the T-mobile warehouse. Apparently, T-mobile uses Assurant for their warehouse service. People who have been through the same thing I am going through with T-mobile say T-mobile has a scam going on. All I want is my third trade in phone to be credited and my account refunded for the last 4 months. From the very beginning things were done incorrectly with T-mobile from applying a trade in credit to the wrong phone line and the loss of a trade in phone. For anyone who wants to know more about T-mobile and their scam service going on- check out the on line posts- T-mobile lost my trade in and is not honoring trade credit!
Tip for consumers:
Don't use T-mobile to do a mail trade in of your phone

TMobile SUCKS! I have been a customer for 17 yrs. EVERY TIME I call in to upgrade they always want you to ADD A LINE! I already have 5 lines, I mean how many lines does 1 person need?! The reps always SAY they appreciate your service but they NEVER show it. The supervisors are smart alecs and never try to make the customer happy. I am looking to go to a different carrier since the company I work for offers a discount cause you certainly won't get any discounts from T-Mobile.

Biggest scam going is the TMobile Internet Wifi Gateway. I committed to one unit. Service was good for about 10 days until I was throttled down to no internet service. In the meantime I had committed to 2 more units. Now I have 3. The newest 2 I never took out of the box because TMobile tech couldn't resolve tech issues and conceded I was in a bad "zone" despite their solicitations to me to the contrary. I returned all three of these "Gateways" by making clear to TMobile the units didn't work on my property. I got return authorizations and shipping labels from TMobile and went to FeDex on the same day to return them.
However... And in the meantime I was being charged for service while the units were unused and in transit to Texas. Took 10 days for the TMobile warehouse to acknowledge receipt... so I went into a new billing cycle with TMobile... 300 bucks plus. I was assured by their representative in Guatemala that she'd get to the bottom of these charges and get them removed. Never happened.
This TMobile outfit are a bunch of crooks. Pay everything by credit card and then dispute it as there is no resolve of issues calling them.

This company is horrible. Your bill changes every month. Most barely speak English and have no clue what is going on. So many regrets going with this company. Buyer please be aware.

Would not recommend. They are dishonest. They will promise 50.00 per month internet and then the bill will be different. A lot more than what they tell you will have to pay.

Unfortunately I've been with T-Mobile for over 8 years now and this is my story of recent times:
I've mentioned to quite a few T-Mobile reps over the last month that when I first joined T-Mobile the customer service was absolutely awful with promised calls back that never happened. Then they got better as time went on.
One thing for sure that I've noticed with this company over the last year is they promise to call you back and never do!
I'm still waiting for 2 calls to come back to me from a tech support rep and a supervisor. Both of these calls go back to September 6th and it its now September 30th.
I've never had a call back since, even though both promised to call me. 'Yes promised so whenever somebody at T-Mobile promises to call you back, I'll put a lot of money on the fact that they won't call you and your forgotten about once the phone call ends.'
I called up T-Mobile 3 days ago and a ticket was made up and I was told within 72 hours someone will get back to me and update me on the situation. Not only have I called about this issue 3 times within that time period, I even had a supervisor called Mary who promised she would call me back with results and once again I've never heard anything back from her since.
I've even texted them on the phone number where they get back to you and once again no one has ever gotten back to me. I'm done, enough is enough it's time to move on.
I would advise anybody out there to stay as far away from T-Mobile as possible.

I recently added two phones to my existing service. I was told by the local T-Mobile store that two accounts were made for the first two phones instead of one account which caused my bill to be higher. I was also told that I qualify for the one free phone promotion with a trade-in - however when I tried to turn-in the phone at the local store as directed by T-Mobile they refused to take the phone. First they refused to take the phone because the screen looked cracked but that was just the screen saver :) - the phone was in like new condition; when that didn't work the manager refused to give me credit for the trade-in because I missed the "two week deadline." That was the first time I heard about that requirement.
Everything T-Mobile promises you is verbal so you really have no recourse when there is a problem. My only recourse was to cancel the plan and pay $830 for the new phone or... keep the my plan and pay an extra $34 per month for two years.
Because of the bad customer service and false advertising I decided to pay off the $830 balance for the new phone and cancel my cell plan and internet service with T-Mobile.

This does not totally reflect on the local store or its personnel, but rather more wholly, the mess that is T-Mobile. First, let me say that I am a 20+ year T-Mobile service subscriber. Following my phone's demise, I have received contradictory information from the store and the main Customer Service (at least they tanked me for he. So here is the issue, my phone failed five days ago and I just got a replacement phone (yes three business days - five days total - crappy service at best, I can get a replacement credit card in a day!). Upon receiving the message that the equipment was received, I quickly (20 minutes) went to the store to get in the queue and "get up and running". Upon arrival, I was informed that the T-Mobile software was "down" with no indication of how long- again not the fault of the store or its employees, but a true indicator of the mess that is T-Mobile top to bottom, side to side - absolutely no leeway, no alternatives, no suggestions for someone who has been a loyal customer for 20+ years. Heretofore, I have never considered switching services, but no one really cared. My boss told me Verizon would have done it in a day!

I have been using TMOBILE since the 90s and they have been great.

I switched over to Tmobile after being with Verizon Wireless for years. I decided to switch over because they had a promotion allowing you to trade in your phone and also were giving Registered Nurses a discount which I loved! However, a few months ago I noticed my card was being double charged, two separate bill with two different amounts. I was very confused and called in to the customer service rep however, they were not understanding the issue and were of little help so I went into a store.
Long story short, the employees did some investigating and were able to find out when I signed up with Tmobile a year ago I used my card for autopay. The employee helping me used my card to set up another customers auto pay as well so that would explain the double billing. The employee apologized of his mistake and has been trying to help me resolve the issue. We added up the monthly bills my card was used for and a total of $1,000 was used to pay someone else bill.
This was obviously a big disappointment that this could even happen, but what has been the most frustrating is I have been battling with t-mobile customer service for a month to get my money back, they keep saying the will reimburse my account but it has not happened. They have taken no actions to make this right and no-one has reached out and apologized for this mistake. I will be switching carriers no doubt, but I am truly astonished by their customer service.

I was a note 8 user with Metro, they don't offer deals, soooooo I switched to T-Mobile about 2 weeks ago. The sales person was super! Get asset to T-Mobile; the problem: I'm 74 years young, just had Eye surgery! The Phone is sooooo little; I called to get a larger phone; the Cost to change out is almost like a house or car payment for someone with a Fixed income! I wish I had known, I would have opted to pick up@ a local office to be able to see the phone; I'M NOT HAPPY #IJS

If you're thinking about getting T-Mobile's home internet plan, do NOT! I have had it for a few months now and it only works a QUARTER of the time. On good days I can easily get 60-80 mbps download but most of the time. It is less than 1. Right now as I am typing this, the download is 0.07 mbps. I use my phones data more than my wifi and I have basically given up on using my computer for work and school. It is a waste of time and money. The customer service is the WORST, too. I called about the problem SEVERAL times and get half-assed responses until I just have to hang up. I stayed on the phone once for an hour with a woman and she came to the conclusion that it was a hardware issue they have never encountered before. Load of bull, I said, but whatever. She said that they would call me back within 3 days to discuss getting a new modem. It has been 2 weeks now. $#*! company, $#*! service, $#*! $#*! $#*!. I beg of you PLEASE don't waste your money on this. Go to Spectrum instead, I know I am. I would rate it lower than one star if I could.

Since I started to use t mobile services they've put me in a situation that I was needed to contact them to resolve numerous customer care related problems!
They've made so many mistakes (not just a couple, but maybe about 10!) and it took hours (literally for 6 months being with them I've spent totally more than 40 hours of my life over the phone!
And extra money which I lost being with them - ( the first goal was to switch from ATT and Verizon to save money) at the end, I've lost hundreds of dollars,
I was with SImple mobile, ATT, Verizon - they never had so many miscommunicating stupid mistakes as T mobile!
Don't switch to T Mobile - SAVE YOUR money, time and health!

Horrible Wi-Fi, paid 100 bucks just for the Wi-Fi to disconnect from all of my devices every 5 10 minutes, always having to pay late fees because they don't know how to do their job and put me in the system, so I can't auto pay and get charged for being one day late or a couple hours late, to wrap it up, don't buy, Wi-Fi is soooo bad and extra charges to you because they don't know how to do thier job
